26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

13434 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is A Real Pain at 21 Jan 2011 08:16:42 AM
Initially I was on a plan for mobile phone, after 1st month .. I was enlightened to the mistake of joining vodafone. I struggled for one year and cancelled the contract.

Again I fell into the Mobile Broadband deal which was $39 for 8GB. Now again I have been enligtened to my foolishness. My first month bill was Aud 62 and my seccond month bill was Aud 129/-.

I have been trying to contact Vodafone to cancel my service. Its been a pain to be on the que for 40 mins and when they answer , the call drops out !! Its Insane..

Now again I am in Que !!

13433 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Customer service at 21 Jan 2011 08:16:22 AM
My friend tried to cancel her account last week as she was leaving for overseas. Vodafone failed to send her her final bill of $1000 (to cancel her contract). She was on hold for nearly 2 hours trying to pay this outstanding bill and when someone with pooor english answered, he hung up on her!
2 hours prior to leaving for the airport we called from my vodafone mobile only to be on hold for 45 minutes without ever being answered (thanks, I have to pay for that vodafone). In a last effort to do the right thing and pay the bill we attended a vodafone shop where we were unable to be assisted in person! You'd think vodafone would pull their finger out and show some customer service when a customer is trying to give them money!
I cannot believe after all the bad publicity and obvious loss in business for them they haven't bothered to improve something as BASIC as customer service.

Vodafone has removed all paper billing. I now get a text and email and the only way to pay is via credit card or direct debit. If you pay by credit card, you have to pay a processing fee!!! They've forced me to go digital, when I need a paper bill for my records and now they charge me extra for it!!!
21 Jan 2011 08:26:08 AM: If you need for your records then print out your email.

Call get dropped routinely .
Cannot inititate calls directly from contacts list. Must copy and paste number for it to dial. Both approaches result routinely in failed call attemps.

Vodafone's coverage is poor and I live in the city. It keeps dropping out (applies to my bobile as well). I call Vodafone's "customer care" and Lara puts me through to the area that can help me, I wait in a queue, most times for anywhere between 30mins to 1 hour before my call is answered, only to be told that they can't help me as I have come through to the wrong area and they transfer me to another area, which means I have to wait another hour for my call to be answered. Vodafone, your "customer care" is rated 0/10 by me. You have no idead how to treat your customers properly and your network is third rate.

13426 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is lies lies lies! at 21 Jan 2011 08:13:46 AM
after promising coverage at my girlfriends house in Freeing within 3 months... we are 1 year later and still no improvement. there is no signal there at all. Their promises were the reason we both signed up (and that we could get free calls to each other).

After a lot of pressure they released my girlfriend from her contract because of the lack of coverage and she paid out $100 for the phone which she was happy to do. They refuse to release me because even though i made it clear when getting the phone that i would be up at her house a lot of the time (2-3 days a week) i didnt put her address on the form i put my address because SHOCK HORROR THATS WHERE I LIVE!!!!!!

They refuse to let me out of the contract because i didnt list her address even though vodafone misrepresented what they were telling me when i signed up.(on a side note they also lied to my dad about coverage when he signed up 6 business phones with them).

The guy on the phone said "if i go to the shop, find the person who said this to me then call back and get them to admit that they lied to me when i signed up, then i could be released from the contract" WTF!!!!!!

Anyway, added to that i am now on my 3rd iphone because of signal loss and dropped calls which were blamed on the phone, i spent a month paying for the phone and data package for the iphone whist using some crappy basic nokia without internet on it. It was quite obviously a problem with the network not the phone.

Anyway the ombudsman said i have a case and is now investigating.

13422 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Significantly at 21 Jan 2011 08:11:45 AM
My husband purchased a phone (from Officeworks) which was locked to vodaphone even though the salesperson assured him it could be used with other networks. The only option then was to pay the $50 to unlock it. Unfortunately the instructions did not work. I then called vodaphone and was on hold for 1hr 40mins to an overseas call centre. When I finally got an operator she was of no help - all she had to do was to walk me through the instructions to see if it would work but reading from a set call centre script will never give you high levels of customer service. She asked how many times I had tried to enter the code (twice) and then said possibly that was too many times and I would then need to send my phone to Nokia to have it unlocked. After much patience and perserverance on my part I was able to obtain additional instructions from her and the phone has been unlocked. Had I not perservered I would have been left with a useless Christmas present. Given my experience with Vodaphone I would never consider using their network or services.

I have been with vodafone for as long as i can remember, a loyal customer. Starting from prepaid and only a few weeks ago changed to plan. I have spoken to vodafone a million times regarding my phone call drop outs, bad 3G coverage, poor reception, alien voices and was advised by vodafone staff that there is nothinhg wrong with there system. They advised me to get a new sim card. I did, 3 and after a few days the problem would just reoccur. I was then advised that the reception and value are in plans, so i decided to go on plan. Big mistake. After paying my first bill that was more then what is should be, my phone was blocked of all ingoing and outgoing calls mind you i was on holidays. When i called again Lara could not understand me. Which frustrated me and i became so pissed off and stressed that i just hung up, i couldnt stop thinking about it and in short it stuffed my holiday. I work in retail. my clients pay me for a service and i will try to assist them to the best i possibly can. Vodafone, maybe you should start caring about your clients and show us that you care and make us feel valued, without us there will be no vodafone, listen to your clients, if there is a problem, call, email, sms and advise, keep us updated. its frustrating spending hours on end trying to talk to someone and not feeling the customer service that i and every other customer deserve.

Thank you

Internet on iphone4 barely works, takes up to 5mins to refresh a page or just get a network error not being able to connect to internet, only time I can use Internet appropriately is at home off my wi-fi, other then that internet does not work on VODAFAIL, this is PATHETIC! worse then a 36k modem if anyone can remember how slow that was, what the hell am I paying $104 a month for! Oh dont forget the CALL DROP OUTS! Class action needs to be taken, we are paying for a service that does not work!
21 Jan 2011 08:18:11 AM: Agree...i always to rely on wifi to get a decent connection but what if I am on the road? Wife and I get voicemail 6hrs later sometimes if not the day after. My wife is due for a new contract in a couple of months. She will go for Optus but me just renewed 5 months ago. Escalated my call and got a Blackberry Bold to replace the iPhone.
21 Jan 2011 12:05:14 PM: There is no different if you go with Optus. I was with Optus for home, mobile and internet and after they give me shit like holding on the phone for 40 minutes try to talk to them so at the end i have cancelled everything and now i have nothing to do with optus. Customer service is total crap. jump from one department to another department and no one seems to know what is going on.

13416 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Pretty ordinary at 21 Jan 2011 08:09:04 AM
Can't wait until my plan ends so I can move. Vodafone was good a few years ago. Not sure why they have fallen so fast to being a very ordinary company. My issues are with internet coverage, sometimes can't even access it in Sydney CBD & also with voicemail messages. They seem to take about 30 minutes to get to my phone. That is just pathetic & luckily nothing has been important as yet.
Also trying to get through to the call centre is a nightmare. And when you do, it is unlikely that they can solve the problem anyway & there always seems to be a language barrier.
Hopefully all these complaints will lead to a massive improvement.

13415 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Competence vs Greed at 21 Jan 2011 08:08:02 AM
I have been a Vodafone AU customer for over 2.5 yrs...

Generally, I would rate their overall performance as limited to poor...

Initially I had issues with 3G USB modem (provided by VF) connectivity, which would successfully establish a connection to the local tower, but then not forwarding any traffic (unable to ping VF DNS or WWW IP's) beyond the gateway (but was still able to ping the 3G gateway address)...

Logged an ongoing fault (problem) with VF (got (Ciaro of all places) which got followed up initially with a call but then several mths later, once again with a call requesting authority to close the job..?? (No resolution and no info even suggesting VF understood the issue)

I find the 3G voice network also randomly drops calls in the Brisbane CBD distrcit, most often when I am busy and least need it..!!

Generally my "gut" feel on Vodafone is that they have the potential and competence to run a high-end reliable network, but the level oversubscription model employed across their infrastructure platforms for voice and data is less than acceptable...

The underlying cause of this I strongly believe to be the VF business model...
VF AU (perhaps internationally) runs on the premise of an enormous debt facility, so the business model essentially pushes the capability boundaries of the underlying infrastructure (+ traffic engineering QoS/Tos) models) to ensure maximum revenue streams support this debt facility, thus providing end-users of the consolidated network services a poor, unreliable quality of technical service alongside a complete disregard for the supporting services, again, the employment of automated IVR systems etc to minimise staffing overheads, why, again to reduce the debt facility....

At the end of the day, I think VF actually can competently provide the services they claim to sell, but they need to investigate their underlying business models and the underlying technical infrastructure to find a "happy medium" that allows them to support the debt facility they require to offer services (which may need to be reduced) while providing consumers of the services a reliable and satisfactory level of service...

I am an ICT Analyst with aN Network Engineering background in Telecommunications and would be happy to work with the executives at VF to investigate and analyse the current VF business metrics and identify strategies to return VF Service Consumption into an uplifting experince for their consumer base..!!!

My name is Morgen Lofting and can be contacted on www.likedin.com.au...

Have a great day...

My wife and I live in Canberra, we are both on the Voda network, I get very bad 3G reception at work sometimes it works other times not, and even then sometimes I may be browsing the internet on 3G and i'll be sat in the same place and it will drop network altogether and then say searching for a network; if it does manage to get back on the network it may only be on edge. Further more My wife and I will be sat for example in a cafe and we will both be browsing the internet she will be on 3G and i maybe on edge or i maybe on 3G and her phone will say searching for a network; all just really random. This has been going on for around 3-4 months now.

13408 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is VERY at 21 Jan 2011 08:06:43 AM
Since Nov 2009 I have had steadily declining coverage areas; missed calls (with no handset notification); Voicemails left (with no handset notification); documented reports of phone ringing out or having an engaged signel (when I have Voicemail enabled). Upgraded handset on contract at Voda's suggestion fo ease the issue. Did not work and had steadily decreased in QoS. This has led to loss of employment opportunities, loss of business, loss of financial services (loan and credit) - and subsequent potential legal action, aggravation, stress, etc... Voda has only now offered to cease the contact and have me return the handset (which I replaced at their insistence).
21 Jan 2011 10:24:09 AM: I have had almost the same experience. I changed my handset onto a iPhone on contract at the insistence of Tech Support because they said that the problems were with my handset, or SIM, I have changed the SIM 3 times and the handset twice (finally to the iPhone). Since then coverage has declined and service has gotten worse, The ONLY 'Fair and Reasonable' solution offered by the company is to get out of the contract (after getting the Ombudsman involved). Nothing about having to now buy a new phone if I return this one. The amount of grief and trouble the company is giving is astronomical. I don't know why the Dept of Fair Trading just don't banish them offshore.

Then I tried customer support (what a joke)

Then they transfered me to some overseas operator. (more jobs taken out of Australia)

And in the end, they said they couldn't check the usage, some issue and so they said they would call me back with the solution.

No body ever called me back.

Been with Vodafone for 7+ years, Live in the North West of Melbourne, Was an Optus customer due to poor reception i moved to Vodafone, at one stage Vodafones services were great. Last 6-12 months i have had nothing but constant reception issues. 3G hardly works at all, and most often then not signal reverts to the standard NON 3G signal. Travel anywhere west of Melbourne and your phone basically drops out every 5 minutes as you move from Footscray through to Sunbury. At best i get 2-3 bars signal. AND NO VODA IT IS NOT MY PHONE OR MY SIM OR PHONE SOFTWARE!!!

As if this was not bad enough, recently every bill i have received via SMS has been incorrect and does not at all display the detail on the Vodafone website once logged in. Their systems seem to be all screwed up and i always have to call customer care just to try to resolve my bill queries.

Don't even get me started on the customer care line. 1hr wait is standard. Most times i have to wait an hr, then get transferred, then disconnected, have to call again, wait another hour. This is simply ridiculous and cannot continue. I am contracted till June, but i am extremely close to canceling my contract and moving to another provider. VODAFAIL - FOR SURE!

I recently went overseas and called Vodafone twice before leaving that I require my phone to be roaming due to family issues. When I reached Fiji, reception did not work and when question at vodafone outlet there, I was told my mobile has not been set up as roaming.

I called Vodaphone from overseas and they still said it should be working and told me there is something wrong with my phone. They were not able to fix it and I was without phone in whole trip.

I had to borrow mobile from relative to keep me going which was inconvenience to relative and me.

13389 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is lets not go there! at 21 Jan 2011 08:00:27 AM
I have a loyal Vodafone customer for many years (when they cool, funky and progressive!). Over the three months it has been disappointing to see Vodafone customer care quality service going downhill (once upon a time, Vodafone were great with customer service with people who actually did cared!). I have had problems like most who have experienced dropped calls, lack of reception in areas that once had full reception and receiving texts late (or never!), or lack of mobile internet coverage (I seem to be on "E" most of the time). The biggest disappointment, however, is the incorrect billing of phone calls and the adding extra charges out of thin air! This has happened to me twice already and it is really annoying and frustrating. I depend on my phone for business and it would be great if Vodafone came back to their grassroots and be the awesome telco that you wanted to deal with. Somehow, it seems to be only a distant memory...

I'm seriously ill so I'm home a lot and have zero coverage about 90% of the time. When I went interstate for treatment I couldn't call home from my mobile because I got a message from Optus saying my home phone was disconnected???? Some text messages take 3-4 days to be received. I have complained and was told it was my handset or my sim card as I can't afford to replace either I am just waiting for my contract to end so I can get away from Vodafone. Let's not mention the constant billing stuff ups and of course they were all in Vodafone's favour too including billing for things I never even asked for like internet access for my 80 year old father who can't even figure out an ATM.

21 Jan 2011 08:36:14 AM: The fact that other people use phones with other providers in the same area would suggest that it is a coverage problem. However, if it is a handset issue then the telco isn't responsible for it's manufacture and therefore it's the manufacturers problem (E.g a certain popular smartphone has reception issues). The contract is largely based on paying for the handset and after 6 months of usage, it's your handset and therefore you should pay for it. You could also pay for the phone and exit to another service provider. To claim your money back is the equivalent of buying a car, driving it around for 6 months and then expecting your money back because the road you're driving on is potholed. The service you mention is the Voda network and reception and suggest your focus on that with your complaints.

PATHETIC - i am cancelling my contract with them ASAP and moving to a more reliable, customer-friendly provider who actually give a damn

they are doing well out of the flag fall each time arent they?

They have 1 tower in the area shared between 4 providers, Telstra are the only one to have there own tower.
We have even tried calling 000 when the outgoing calls aren't working & it doesn't connect!!
Calls continue to drop out, internet is extremely slow & sometimes won't connect at all.

My worst example of 100's of Vodafone problems was this. My cousin called me several times on a Wednesday to say our Uncle was not going to make it much longer and to come to the hospital to say goodbye. Not one of these calls made it to me even though my phone on and fully charged in a serviced area. He didn't even get my voicemail for most calls, it just rang out. Finally he got my voicemail and left me the above message. Of course I didn't receive it. On the following Saturday he called again (and got through for a change) to tell me my uncle had passed away. I had no idea it was coming because I still hadn't received my message. The next day, Sunday after he had passed, I received my cousins message from the Wednesday telling me he was sick. To me this was the last straw with Vodafone. It's the most sickening example of what incompetant service can result in. I can't wait for my contract to be up, but maybe now with Vodafail I won't have to wait that long. Thank you!

I have only this week moved to Telstra after over 5 years with Vodafone....I have had a litany of problems over that time (reception, disconnection for no reason, a $23,000 phone bill by accident , the list goes on) ...late last year I rang (after many attempts to get through) and told them I wanted to cancel my account immediately...someone from their retention team called me back a few days later and offered me the world to stay...a new iphone 4 a $1000 credit on the data charges I incurred whilst OS on my honeymoon...I received the new handset but the $1000 credit never appeared on my account...so off I go again on the roller coaster that is trying to actually speak to someone at Vodafone....it took me about 10 calls and a lot of angst before I finally found someone who would actually deal with my issue...I finally received the credit 5 months later...I then spent the entire summer break with no reception due to bad coverage and I can no longer tolerate them...

I simply cannot believe how I have been treated by Vodafone. I only stayed with Vodafone for so long as I believed the alternatives were just as bad...I no longer think this is the case. I am sending my handset back to the CEO...the end.

Then i thought to myself why not ring the company and find out why they aren't calling me. Turns out they tried me on 15 different occasions for the one company because of my credentials then came back with the excuse that i wan't intrested.... Since the first time i noticed this happening i called customer support and after 5 hours on hold because i had nothing better to do. They sent me to a message bank and told me they would call back. Ater about a week they cut my service altogether and charged me for the rest of my contract costs. When i went in and demanded my service to be restored i recieved about 400 or so messages from friends and family not being about to reach me.

I have been with Voda for years now and when i first signed up to them they were great. Now I struggle to make calls, voicemails have come in 3-5days after they were left for me and calls drop out (and even dont connect often). I live near the CBD (not in between huge skyscrapers) and expect that there is great coverage in such an urban setting. I also go down to the country often (camden, picton, thirlmere etc.) and I understand down there why I would have poor coverage but in the city? I have been on the phone in my house and it has cut out requiring me to call the person back 5+ times. To make things even more frustrating often my phone won't connect and then will be 'searching' for reception. This is just ridiculous. I shouldnt need a GPS phone to make calls from a suburb in the city! Voda needs to fix this quick!! I often wonder too if my texts even were sent and received by my friends as their reply texts all come in a flurry. ding ding ding 7 texts all received in 1 second because of my coverage...this is just one huge voda fail.

I have now switched to Telecom who gave me an hours free lesson in how to text.

13356 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Useless at 21 Jan 2011 07:50:08 AM
I have both an Iphone and a 3G wi-fi dongle with Vodafone.

With the Iphone trying to access the internet, especially in the evenings, is pointless as it will just hang and time-out despite the fact that I am in a metropolitan area and I normally have 3 or 4 bars of network coverage. I frequently suffer from delayed or undelivered received texts and I am often told that any call made to me goes straight to voicemail, which I may only receive after a couple of days. When trying to send a text the phone will normally hang before displaying that the message couldn't be sent in which case I have to disconnect from the network (which can take a couple of minutes) and then re-connect. The same goes for placing phone calls, sometimes it will just hang and when you try to disconnect so that you can re-try it freezes the phone.

On the 3G internet side I am experiencing very similar issues. Particularly in the evenings my internet connection will give up. The software suggests that I am still connected but it will also show that the data transfer rate is 0 bits/s. Again the only way to get back on is to disconnect and then re-connect. I may have to do this every few minutes.

Out of metropolitan areas the coverage is woeful, my Telstra work mobile is far superior.

Like a lot of people here I didn't realise that my problem was so widespread. I'm glad that I'm not the only one as with more voices we should be able to get a suitable solution.

I have a 12 months contract with Vodafone and I have a pre-paid too. I can seriously tell I am experiencing the worse coverage I have ever seen.
Inside my house I only have coverage in one room, and even in there calls are dropped making a phone conversation a hassle.
When I was in the hospital last year, I did not have coverage at all, having to walk outside and search for spots where I could get at least as much signal so I could send/receive text messages.
Not to mention the customer service which is really bad, I feel like an idiot when I have to talk to Lara!
Just my 2 cents ....

I'm a doctor and have a 24month iphone 4 contract with vodafone. There are no pagers available so the hospital is reliant on my mobile to contact me. The coverage inside the hospital fluctuates and so when I am in the centre of the hospital there is no signal. This week I had 2 calls from nurses 30min apart about an increasingly distressed patient. I was not notified of their call and received a voicemail alert 30min after the patient died from cardiorespiratory arrest. I have been troubled with dropped calls and delayed voicemail alerts since signing my contract in September 2010.

13346 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is absolutely epic fail at 21 Jan 2011 07:44:36 AM
I've always had issues with VF billing but the experience of my mate just made my blood boil and I took it to the ombudsmen because she was 8.5 months pregnant & was over the stress. She had been in tears for over 8 months to VF over her account which she paid, then a week later was cut off. When she called they told her it was in arrears. she set up a payment plan, paid it off over a month and was told everything was clear & she was in credit. A week later her services were barred & her account was in arrears again.
VF said she would have to pay for "iphone charges" when she asked what the charges were they couldnt provide an answer & she said she wasn't paying anything until she recevied an invoice, which she had opted to pay extra for to be posted out. after terminating the call she received a call from an irate woman asking why her service had been barred, when my friend said why are u calling me the woman responded 'i called customer care'. VF had transfered calls from the public to my mates phone! when my mate told VF they appologised & my mate said 'hello invasion of privacy' they said 'they had recitifed the issue there was nothing more they could do' she said 'you could unbar my services for a start' they refused.
a month later she had not recieved any posted bills so called VF. they told her they had been posted confirmed addresses and contact details. everything was correct. still nothing arrived.
She called again and VF said they had emailed them to her (despite them cutting off her account which included internet & telling her previously that they had been posted) when she said 'i pay extra to have them posted to me i called last month i was told they were posted now you're saying they're emailed to my account that i cant access' they said 'would you like to pay the outstanding amount today?' she said 'no! i want to look at my bill to know what i am paying for because i paid it all off i was told and a week later it was barred and in arrears again'. they said 'we'll post it out and a charge of $5' she said 'no you wont because i selected to pay the extra $2 to have it posted out.'
A month later she received details from a debt collection agency in regards to recovering the arrears on behalf of VF. VF had passed on her address details, partners number (his number is not with VF! so how did they have it?!) and her prepaid account number with another service provider which she was forced to buy as she was due to go into labour any day & had no access to call the outside world.
the debt collection agency called her a week later with their demands, forcing my mate into a state of despair and distress where she said again that she would pay the amount if it's right but that she 'has a right to look at my own invoices! which have still not been posted to me months later'
My mate rung me and asked if i could follow it up for her because it was casuing her so much distress that VF would now not even discuss sending her outstanding invoices because 'the matter was now with a debt collection agency' according to VF CSR.
I called & discussed with a supervisor who said that she would send the last 6 months out, confirmed address etc & I said that it was a gross breech of privacy not to inform my mate that her details had been passed on to an 3rd party. 3 weeks later nothing had arrive in the mail.
I suggested that she lodge a complaint with the ombudsmen which she did & a week later someone from VF called her saying it was an error on VF behalf that they would send out documentation stating it was an error & her service would not be barred as long as she payed the $300 still outstanding! when she asked why she still had not received an invoice and how she would know what the error was but they would "wave the other amounts". My mates account was reactivated a week before she went into labour, with a promise to send out the details and invoices. That was in December. Now into the 2nd last week of Jan 2011 still nothing has been sent. It is a total joke and VF are still expecting my mate to pay $300 for charges she has no idea where they have come from because they cant get their act together to post out invoices.

I also get txts 2 days latter, a few times i got txts 24 hours latter while talking to the person who sent it. I often get call failed when trying to ring someone and often give up trying to ring. I also have problems connecting to the net which keeps telling me I need to check my connections. When i lived in NZ i did get the same problems but since living in Australia I have had so many problems with my vodaphone and enternet connections. When i purchased my USB stick i had problems connecting to the net and was told by vodaphone shop that there was some thing wrong with my computer when i did take my computer in to get looked at i was told that it was the USB stick and that it had a weak signal Vodafail refused to replace it so i got to keep it. I have next to no reception now most places, i cant call or recieve calls from family and friends because reception is so poor the calls constanly disconnect - and despite emailing vodafone with my complaints and trying to call ive had no help - i was however told to get a new sim card - despite already being given 2 new ones......basically im paying for a service that doesnt exist. I have been with vodafone for many years but now i just wish i wasnt.
21 Jan 2011 07:45:21 AM: To add insult to injury i trusted them by recently getting a mobile broadband usb - guess what - that barely works either.....again paying for a non service....
21 Jan 2011 07:54:01 AM: And i forgot to say - i either dont recieve texts at all - or they turn up days later - also the same when i try send texts - at Christmas time none of mine sent to family - i would have called if the damn phone had reception - this also happened at New Years .

Vodafone you had best pull your socks up and get cracking on all these problems - or you will fond yourself wth zero customers. I myself wish to be with another provider now.

13337 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is LARA doesn't understand at 21 Jan 2011 07:40:46 AM
Hate the voice activated thing Lara.
She doesn't understand if you have a slight accent. Such a pain having to deal with that each time and doesn't help if you are already pissed off with Vodafone. It angers me trying to talk to a computer.

13336 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is The don't want to keep our business! at 21 Jan 2011 07:40:20 AM
My wife and I have been with Vodafone since 2003 - loyal customers! But no more. Not only have we been experiencing the network problems but, having decided to stay with them after the last contract expired, range and requested a lower plan and insurance to be removed from the account. After spending hours (literally!) on the phone with them, we were told that their system was playing up at that time and the plan could not be altered and that someone would call back within 48 hours to make the plan change and confirm removal of the insurance charge (that was Jan 4). When we had still had no contact from them by Jan 17(!), we arranged BYO contracts with another network - only to then find that Vodafail want to charge us $25 to have the iPhone unlocked! All it would have taken is the promised return phone call and we would still be loyal Vodafone customers. Our experience is that VODAFONE ARE THEIR OWN WORST ENEMY! There obviously needs to be changes made within that organisation - starting at the top.

13335 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Pretty damn fail at 21 Jan 2011 07:39:55 AM
Am so angry about the constant fails to send simple text msgs, Unable to open a web page with max reception on the 3G network and with having to listen to a bloody computer with a female voice for half an hour while I try and ask a real person a simple question. I have never delt with such a hopless company before!

13334 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Very very fail at 21 Jan 2011 07:39:49 AM
I haven't been on a contract for a couple of years, So I decided to get my self a new I phone 4 I was really excited and couldn't Waite to get it and start using it.

I began to play with it and got the hang of how it all works for the first 3 to 4 weeks all was good with the 3G and apps download etc.

Then began the problems I started to switch the phone on and off to pick up 3G
and then I keep losing the signal and it was always displaying searching, I called vodafone and waited about 1 hr and 45min and then all they offered was for me to try a new sim which I did and it kept on going. So now I make sure my 3G is disabled at all times and I have a data phone that's useless to me at the moment every time I call vodafone all I get told is a heap of lies and to be honest I dont think we deserve to be treated like this. After all we are the ones that made Vodafone what it is and the least they can do is provide a good honest service to all its customers.

I'm hoping that Vodafone gets its back side kicked for this cause its been a real pain.
21 Jan 2011 07:43:41 AM: Virtually same story as myself! New nokia phone - but everything just doesnt work!

13333 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Totally at 21 Jan 2011 07:39:47 AM
I have reducing phone coverage - coverage is dropping out in more places now than when we first signed up, continue to get my calls disconnected - how on earth can you ever put a figure on this when we use our mobiles for our business. It is frustrating and causes many arguments between my husband and myself. I am totally fed up with Vodaphone - and to top it all off they cancelled my business plan back in August and my bills were over $1000 per month - and it wasn't until I rang to find out why - no explanation was given why it was cancelled. They stuff up in all areas of our business arrangement.

13332 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is No reception ib CBD at 21 Jan 2011 07:39:45 AM
My husband and I are both on Vodafone ....We live within 5km of Melbourne CBD and the reception bar is always on "No Service"
I rang vodafone and told me that it is our iPhone3Gs handsets that is the problem and that we need to update our software. We upgraded and still no reception. Problem not solved.
So when we are at home, we cannot receive calls or text or go on the internet (unless using our own wifi network at home).
Everytime I try to call Vodafone helpline I am on hold for no less than 15 minutes and to make matters worst I have to make this call outside the house because once we cannot get reception in our apartment!
I have friends who have come over and are on other network (Optus, Telstra) and their reception in our apartment is fine.
The other who are on 3(now part of Vodafone) also has the same problem.
21 Jan 2011 08:39:16 AM: Iphones have always had pretty poor reception even on the best networks.

13331 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is The highest fail you can get! at 21 Jan 2011 07:39:21 AM
I ALWAYS have poor reception and the the internet speeds are a joke. As a customer i did not sign up for such a poor service and get quite frustrated when i am on hold for so long i almost forget why i am calling them. I dont have a problem with the call centre being over seas but do sometimes find it hard to understand some reps. Nothing racist - its just the language barrier and i understand that. Whenever i leave my house to travel to my family/friends places etc i have no reception for the drive and no reception at their residence. I just think that it is greatly unfair that we are paying for a service and getting NOTHING. Its Disgusting how they are able to take our money without providing a decent service. I moved from Telstra to vodafone as i was sick of the hassles Telstra were giving me - BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. When my contract is up in August i will be moving back to Telstra (i thought i hated telstra more than any other provider, boy was i wrong!)
