26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

6780 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Merger at 28 Dec 2010 04:43:41 PM
I have been on here reading so many ppls stories and the pain they have gone through.
Personally I feel it was a massive mistake for Vodafone to agree to this merger of 3 and Voda. clearly they didnt and still dont have this capacity in place nor there is no structure for there company which has resulted in very upset and angry customers.
I speak as I am a previous employee of VF before the merger and let me tell you, after the merger went through not only customers were being affected as there was no transperency to there existing customers but staff had suffered through this all.

All staff went through a re apply stage and well most ppl were made redundant and when they had to go back in for there feedback sessions alot of ppl were given no reasons as to why they didnt make the cut.

Excuses were made such as "Unfortunatley you have too much happening in your personal life" or that we wish you best of luck!! Really? F#$K OFF!!

I for one am very glad this site has come up as not only on the inside and back end was crap but once and for all all customers and the Australian people can see how this merger clearly should not have happened.

I have many friends on the network along with myself and the amount of drop outs or call failed I get in my house is ridiculous.

Vodafone take back your stores and get rid of 3 you let them enter a merger with a $350 Million debt over there heads.... What were you thinking???

It saddens me to say this but after being a customer for over 12 years with Vodafone I am going to Telstra as this coverage and BS that has been going on for close to 2yrs is absolutely that BullShit!!!

6775 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Double ZeroFail at 28 Dec 2010 04:38:04 PM
I live on Phillip Island 5kms from the centre of town and 5 kms from the world renowned Grand Prix track. Can only get reception inside if the wind is blowing in the right direction. Turn on 3G ... nothing. The veranda is the best place but never full bars - rug up for those cold winter nights.
Previously lived in Morwell in the Latrobe Valley. Depending on what end of the house I was in I got two different cell transponders - nice, no problems.
Only reason staying with them is the reasonable deal for pre-paid.
All in all, if there was real competition I would change but after three years I guess I'm used to standing outside to use a basic technology.

6756 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is TERRIBLE SERVICE ALLROUND at 28 Dec 2010 04:16:05 PM
When i signed up for my 2 year contract 2 months ago with a brand new iphone 4 i was not told:

*That everytime i need to call customer service i would have to wait 2 hours on average for someone to answer my call.

*That half my calls would constantly drop out.

*That my internet would take 2 mins on average to load a website,Slower than dial up internet

*That my voicemail & text messages would sometimes take 24 hours to come through.

I could go on and on but this is enough....In short TERRIBLE is the only way to describe all of this!!! I made a mistake leaving Three after 8 years to join this crap......Cant wait to leave.RIPPED OFF FOR A SERVICE THAT DOESNT WORK.

6747 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Epic fail at 28 Dec 2010 04:10:21 PM
I constantly have to put up with my texts not being sent. I will go three days or so in a row with none of my texts being sent through but still being charged for the texts. When I called vodafone I got absolutely no help, they didn't understand what "being charged for text messages that are not being recieved" meant. I also lose coverage constantly in random places that have plenty of coverage for every other service provider I know.
Way to fail Vodafone.

Also They talked me into a blackberry storm and since i have had it i have not been able to get many apps or games for it unlike what the girl who sold it to me said !! it keeps saying not a valid service or cant be used on this handset when in fact it's for blackberry storm so i am seriously annoyed That They Lied to me In every way !!

6716 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Epic fail at 28 Dec 2010 03:41:53 PM
When I signed into my 2 year contact I was told that because Vodafone and 3 shared phone lines I would have reception almost everywhere. My reception is totally incosistent, at uni I get it in some rooms but not others. Sometimes I have full reception at home and some times I have none. When people ring they tell me that it goes straight to message bank even if the phone is on and I have full reception. I cannot wait until this contract is up, signing up with vodafone was a big mistake! Another thing that I have found is that the Vodafone website for some reason seems to function slower than any other website.

I have no service in my home, or out of doors upwards of 80% of the time - and I live within the metropolitan area! I recently went away for a weekend just outside of Newcastle and had no service for 3 days. Texts messages often fail to come through for hours. On the occasions when there is service, like others, the calls cut out after a short period. Lets on start on internet.... Arrrgh..........

6692 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Very fail at 28 Dec 2010 03:22:36 PM
- Text messages are often delayed - anything from 30 mins up to 6 hours late.
- Calls drop out around a third of the time.
- I'm really annoyed and disappointed by Vodafone's ongoing issues with 3G/HSPA connectivity. I rely on Internet access through my phone, and for it to be unable to download on HSPA consistently (well over half of the time) is a royal pain. I often have to switch my phone to airplane mode, then back to standard mode, before HSPA comes on and decides to download stuff (and sometimes forcing the connection back on doesn't work either!). The speed I get is inferior to my previous service on Optus.

Not happy Vodafone!

(area wise I go between the Dandenongs, Moorabbin, the city, Monash - and the coverage varies from really really poor (1 bar / none) to reasonable (3 or 4 bars out of 5)

Told me when I signed up that I would have cover in Venus Bay where we go every 2nd or 3rd weekend but of course - absolutely no cover at all. I have no cover when I go to a shopping centre such as Chadstone and numerous places around where I live. They showed me on the internet that the cover at Venus Bay was fine, when I complained they said I would need to ring when I am down there so they can try and find out why I haven't got cover - how can I ring if my phone doesn't work there? About 4 months now and I've absolutely had it.

I am a 3 customer who now has to put up with the appalling Vodafone network !It is a huge change from the Telstra radio network which we used to use before Vodafone bought out 3. Most of my calls dropout and it's defaulting to EDGE most of time instead of 3G when I actually can get on to the Internet.

I suspect Vodafone's problem is that it has changed to Nokia for it's network equipment. There were few problems when they were using Ericsson equipment!! It seems like Vodafone has capacity & network planning issues to resolve quickly.

Vodaphone will not cancel my contract without an investigation. If the investigation comes back and the network is the issue(which it is, i have to pay for the 2phones on the contract before they will cancel it. The phone is the bulk of the charge, which i can not afford to pay 600+ dollar for each phone. Vodaphone need to be shut down, they are scamming people out of their hard earned money. 6577 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is not much at 28 Dec 2010 01:24:12 PM
I am an employee of Vodafone and feel this website is a massive over exaggeration. I go to work everyday, get yelled at, abused, told I am an idiot... yet still go out of my way for each and every customer (as do my colleagues) to ensure the best possible outcome.and service, sometimes it can take hours or even daysof effort.... We can't help it if the network fails, we can't help it if u don't get reception, and we can't help it if the call centres r busy... so .... before u all start complaining in store.. remember that majority of employees have Vodafone as their service provider.... WE ALL FEEL THE SAME PAIN !!!!! Have a bit of consideration for the people who try as hard as they can to resolve ur issues. If u have enough time to sit on the computer and create such a website u can certainly sit on hold to the Vodafone Customer Care Centres.
28 Dec 2010 01:30:56 PM: the call centres keep you on hold for over an hour, then hang up on you before they even answer the call!! THEN they charge you for the call on your next bill, how bout you pay $129 a month for absolutely nothing and see how pissed off you get at all the bullshit lies you keep getting told... while i sympathise with your position (well not really) you guys are just as guilty of feeding us the same shit we have all had enough of..... "you will be well looked after, you get excellent service" IF YOU KNOW ITS A LIE, WHY KEEP TELLING EVERYONE THE SAME CRAP??????
28 Dec 2010 01:37:45 PM: I dont think you should take it personal. People are mad at the service provider. you only work for the service provider. While you are the front line so you cop all the crap you should try to remember its not about you. Its about people paying for a service your boss is not providing.

Maybe if your boss stopped ripping people off you would get abused a little less. I know its not your fault and it sucks you have that job and I understand you dont go to work to get abused, but people work hard for their money and when we pay for a service we expect to get what we pay for.

Maybe complain to your manager everyday

lets be honest VODAFAIL sucks
28 Dec 2010 01:37:49 PM: I spent 6 months dealing with your customer service center - I was sworn at by your team members, when I didn't even swear, I was lied to over and over and was able to prove it thanks to taping calls in the end... I had to make all contact as no one ever called back, I was mocked and laughed at... one time the person thought they put me on hold and hadn't and I proceeded to hear them tell the manager how they were going to 'screw me over'.
Seriously and you are happy to admit that you work for this company!
28 Dec 2010 01:45:18 PM: I feel sorry for the store employees, but I agree with the reply above. Yes it would take time to set up a website, but that's only one person's time. If all the people who have commented tallied up the hours left waiting on hold, arguing the point and then still having no resolution, it'd be quicker to roll out a new network. The website has also been set up because there's nowhere left to turn - nothing else has worked. But the can of worms is now well and truly open. If I was an employee I'd want to quit as these problems will not be resolved in the short term.
28 Dec 2010 01:49:58 PM: In regard to your last line about having the time to sit on hold instead of creating a site.... HE CREATED THIS SITE WHILE ON HOLD... AGAIN, you fail! Obviously you belong at your job... you fail to listen to the customer and find out the facts.
28 Dec 2010 01:54:42 PM: I am a owner of a vodafone store and find that you like to shift blame onto the network and its coverage, so its the staff issue well what a load of crap. Do we look like little chinese people that build the phones or do we look like the little man that climbs the tower to fix your reception issues no we dont so take into consideration there are big issues but its about the network and its coverage not th people that work in the retail outlets over the country most of them are privately owned, If you were to come to my store and cry abiout the recpeption this is what I would say sorry about that sir or madam but we dont control that here but here is the customer service no. and you know why we say that it is because we dont bloody fix them we can only assist you so please take into account these people that work in these shops are just sales people not tech people so call the customer service no 1555 on your mobile or 1300650410 on landline if yoiu have no reception at them time. Also I am very happy to own and operate a Vodafone store!!!
28 Dec 2010 02:00:15 PM: I am a Vodafone customer much ot my regret however I also work in a call centre as a supervisor and I know how much abuse you can get.No fair I agree however the people who work at Vodafone are not the easiest people to try to get to understand or to deal with. I went to a Vodafone store today to ask about insurance that I pay on my phone and when I questioned what she had told me she laughed in my face!!!!!She did not give too hoots what I was asking. This was at the Blacktown store. If I cant get a decent answer from someone face to face how am I to get a decent answer when the person I call is located in MUMBAI. I then called the stupid LARA and when the lady from Vodafone customer care rang me back after two hours she told me she could not help me so she said she would transfer me to the insurance section. ONly she failed to tell me that this department only works Monday to Friday and not on a public holiday. So f course I was asked to call in business hours. She should have known it was a public holiday in Australia. I have wasted a lot of time on this vodafone thing.I agree people should have some consideration for the people on the other end of the Phone trying ot help however some of the customer service people they have working for them leave a lot to be desired.
28 Dec 2010 02:07:30 PM: IM SUPRISED YOU CAN UNDERSTAND ENGLISH MOST WORKERS IN THE VODAFONE CALL CENTRES DONT!!
28 Dec 2010 02:10:46 PM: A bit Racist dont you think
28 Dec 2010 02:15:56 PM: to the person who thinks this website is "a massive over exaggeration". my arse it is. obviously you have never had the pleasure of being on hold to vodafone & speaking to someone who doesn't speak a word of english properly or doesn't give two shits about you as a customer. how would you like to speak to someone you can't understand, be put on hold for over an hour, be put through to two different departments and be hung up on while you are still talking? i bet you would be singing a different tune if this happened to you.
28 Dec 2010 02:38:51 PM: I actually do that everyday... its called patience ! All im saying to everyone is yes Vodafone is certainly not perfect i can see that from the issues i have with my phone also... what im saying is i shouldnt have to go to work and be abused all day when all im doing is trying to help, some things are out of my control.... i just know that the amount of complaints are on this website there will be people who come into thew store and do the same thing and i will have to cop it, just wanting people to think before they start screaming at me and everyone else that works for Vodafone. And yes, I am proud to work at Vodafone otherwise i wouldn't .. i'm proud of the way i handle issues and do my best to resolve them ! oh and i didntr say INSTEAD of creating a site i said if u have the time to create it u have the time to sit on hold !
28 Dec 2010 02:45:25 PM: If u know (which u obviously do) that the service promises u r selling for voda r nothing but lies then u do deserved to be yelled at!
28 Dec 2010 02:57:47 PM: If a customer came into the store to buy a Vodafone service and i knew it wouldn't work.. i would 100 percent NOT sell it to them - i would advise against because it doesnt only hurt the customer it makes my life harder
28 Dec 2010 04:01:54 PM: to the person who said if u have time to create a website u have time to sit on hold. if you yourself are having issues with your phone then why in hell are you working for a store that is selling crappy shitty vodafone service? you said that you are proud to be working at vodafone then you ae a bloody idiot & you deserve to be yelled at.

- NO BLOODY RECEPTION ANYWHEREEEEEE ONE MINUTE YOU HAVE SERVICE THE NEXT THERES NON FOR HOURS!!

I was sent out a bill for 90 dollars for the month of may paid the bill on time than my service was disconnected in November as 40 dollars was apparently overdue.. Not knowing what this 40 dollars was for i called customer care (waited 3 hours to get through to someone) and i was informed that someone had mistakenly paid 40 dollars on my account and that they sent me a bill for the wrong amount and that they had transferred the 40 dollars to the person who "accidentally" made the payment on my bill.. But i was not notified of this until i contacted them in regards to my service been cut off which was 6 months later!! NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! how can someone "accidentally" make a payment on my bill when i have my own account number and personal details and security code!!

THANKS FOR THE THIRD WORLD COUNTRY SERVICE I WILL NOT BE RENEWING MY CONTRACT WITH THIS COMPANY NOR WILL I BE RECOMMENDING THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE.. CANT WAIT TILL MY CONTRACT IS FINISHED (2012) =( SO THAT I DONT HAVE TO DEAL WITH VODAFONE EVER AGAIN..

Routinely having problems with calls not connecting properly (can't hear them, they can hear me or vice versa). 3G/HSDPA access is extremely patchy and heavily congested in inner city areas (constantly kicks me off the cell then my phone has to reconnect). My phone randomly drops off the network with people telling me they can't get through to me even though the phone is on and seemingly connected.

I have a Google Nexus One and have never been able to open a simple Web page on this excuse for a 3G network. My friends with the same smartphone just laugh when I show them that I cannot even open a Web page. MMS never arrives and cannot be sent. And no it isn't the phone as changing SIM cards show me.
I've been with Vodafone almost since they arrived in Oz. It is a situation I am no longer going to tolerate.

I recently upgraded in October to new plans with VHA after being told that they could beat the offer i had with Optus. One week after getting the phones i started getting 'failed network connection' whilst trying to get online with my new android. Over the next 2 months i missed calls, would not get voicemail messages for a week and even had my internet on the phone disconnected by VHA. I called and was told that the issue was with my phone and that nothing could be done. I had to call back to be told that my internet connection was cancelled by my own phone WHAT THE!!! The worst was i missed a call from my bank that caused major issues with my realestate, landlord and the poor girl at the bank who did leave a message that i did not get for a week. Did i get an apology by VHA? No what i got was not our fault. In the end i had to make a TIO complaint. The first offer was yes you do have a congestion issue in your area of Point Cook and we can see you have had drooped call. What we can offer is for you to move over from Three to Vodafone. When i refused this offer did they advise that i could go to any carrier i wanted just send back the phones. This i have gladly done. It did take an hour long phone call to get my account number so i could port. Really... customer service do not have all my details when i first call. The appalling service and a company going to market with plans that do nothing but cause congestion needs to be taken to task. Thank you for this website, i just wish i new about it 4 weeks ago.
28 Dec 2010 12:38:49 PM: Am amazed at the number of people suffering at Vodapain's hands too. Watch them on New Year's Eve too - all our messages got sent twice last year - nice little profit maker for them. What a disreputable company. I'll quite happily join the action against them.

I'm a full time worker, I don't even have time to scratch myself let alone making 2697 phone calls in one month! My phone bill came home to be $1270 because vodafone said that I had exceeded my plan. I had complained and they said they'd do something about it, they said they'd take 50% off of my bill, but that for some reason came down to $890! I called to complain again and they said the only thing I could do now is to upgrade my plan and they'd take another 50% off. Alright, I dis that but I wasn't a happy customer. Then after a while of thinking I decided not to use my phone at all.. The next month my bill came to $3000+! Wth?! I didn't even use my phone! That was it, I didn't use the phone, I called up to complain so many times and every tune I called I had to repeat my story over and over again. I got so sick of them I just dropped it, never called them again and I wasn't going to pay for something that I didn't use! They took me to debt collectors and I still didn't pay, they put me down on the black books and now I have bad crept for FIVE years for a ridiculous, lying, decieving and manipulative company that cares for nothing mbut money!

Vodafone charges more money per txt than any other phone company. At 33cents a txt (for pre-paid at least) he goes through $20 within days. This is just unacceptable. Also, coverage constantly drops out and yet I still get charged for these calls. I was once on hold to Vodafone for over 20 mins when the phone line just dropped. Speaking of being on hold, their customer service is disgusting. Recently my phone (supplied by Vodafone) died. I went to a vodafone store to get this matter resolved and was told that it wasnt their fault and there was nothing they could do about it. It's enough to make me want to switch companies as soon as my contract expires...

After a gruelling two year contract, I was finally able to leave. They did not offer me a new phone or try to get me to renew my contract, they just forgot about me. Great customer service there.... Then they preceeded to charge me an exit fee and sent me a notice from the debt collector as I was refusing to pay for it. This company robbed me of so much money and my bill was NEVER under $49 dollars, I didn't even use it that much and they still managed to put all their hidden costs in there and failed to provide a service. I live in metro Melbourne and I still had issues with reception. I am now on Telstra and paying the same amount for MUCH BETTER RECEPTION AND VALUE FOR MONEY. I also make sure I tell everyone of my problems with Vodafail.

6460 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is EXTREME FAIL at 28 Dec 2010 11:47:44 AM
About 16 months ago I made the biggest mistake of my life. I was no longer happy with my phone provider so decided to look into who was able to give me good service at an affordable price.
I decided to go with Vodafone Online, I'd spent about 2 weeks researching it all and the deal they had seemed the best. The sales team where fantastic at selling me a package including a phone and contract for 12 months.
I received my phone 2 days later and upon inspecting it realized there where 3 things missing from the phone - a micro SD card, the stylus and case. (The Micro SD card was vital for the phone operation).
I immediately rang Vodafone who gave me Nokia's number saying I would have to follow up the problem myself. I did so the long of the short of it is, after 3 MONTHS of going back and forth between Nokia and Vodafone I was told many different things - Both informed me that a new phone was on the way about 5 times and would arrive the next day, Both informed me that there was no issue raised about 3 times and despite having a list of call logs of who i'd spoken to and reference numbers for the complaints would have to start again, Nokia informed me twice that the issue was to be dealt with by Vodafone and not me, Vodafone themselves rang Nokia after I ended up INSISTING on them doing so and the Vodafone customer service agent was shocked at the treatment he himself received from Nokia.
I received bills for them and thankfully I hadn't actually actioned the phone yet and I had free 3 months on the contract (which by the end of the 3 months due to the fact I still had not got anywhere with getting a complete phone was upped to 6 months free usage)
I spoke to managers at Vodafone who laughed in my face and when I informed them I was going to take it to the ACCC told me I would have to get a complaint form from them which would cost me $20 and in her own words 'Good Luck, No one cares what you have to complain about cos at the end of the day you are just one person and you can do nothing'.
I contacted the ACCC who informed me to communicate via email to them so I would have written records. Guess what, they NEVER replied via email to me.... actually they never replied at all.
This whole time I had no phone at all, I was working nearly everyday and relied on a phone yet because I am also a single parent and on a government pension for it the rules are that you can only have 1 phone contract in your name and I didn't have the funds to pay for a pre-paid mobile... I was trapped.
Finally after 3 months of being lied to, passed around and not listened to, laughed at openly by the staff and managers and getting no where, I ended up snapping.
(Because I had bought it from the online store, I was not able to go into a store and have a human help me - trust me I tried numerously - all I could do was call their inhuman customer support numbers)
So I snapped and FINALLY after 3 months they sent me an envelope to send the phone back with and was told once they received the phone back and it was checked over by the 'tech team' I MAY have the chance to exit my contact.
So I received the envelope 3 days later, posted it within 5 minutes of getting it (I paid express post to send it) - 2 weeks later I rang, and it still wasn't processed, I rang everyday for another week and finally was told that, yes the phone had in fact arrived 2 weeks earlier and was processed and was now in the hands of the manager that had told me I was just one person and she didn't care about my complaint and the manager had in fact gone on holidays for 2 weeks and nothing could be done until she returned.
So I asked to be put through to another person who I had been dealing with and 2 days later I removed from the contract... So I thought.
I went down to my local shopping center to take on a new contract with a different provider and was not allowed to take it out as they had that I had unpaid bills with Vodafone and a current contract.
After 3 days of calls I finally received an email stating I was no longer a Vodafone customer and was able to present it to the new provider as proof.
I continued to receive bills for another 2 months (all 0 balance) and each time I contacted them and each time was told more crap.
Finally about 6 months after it all started, I was clear...
I will NEVER EVER touch Vodafone or Nokia again... the one piece of justice for me... I informed everyone I came in contact with over the 6 months who complained about me not having a mobile or being able to contact me sufficiently about Vodafone and what was occurring at the time, and I smile when I know because of my turmoil at least 300 people will now not touch them either!

6431 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Vodafone sucks at 28 Dec 2010 11:18:55 AM
I recently purchased a HTC legend through Vodafone - 24 month contract with $50 credit and 1.2 GB data for first 12 months with 200 MB after. The data allowance on my plan appears as 200 MB which hasn't been fixed after calling them twice and waiting online for about 50 mins every time. They had also charged me incorrect amounts on my bill (which they have now reversed).

The operators on the phone have no clue of what they need to do. For every question I was put on hold for 15 mins and they would come back and try to handball by saying call the data management department.

I am regretting moving away from three just cos of a better deal with Vodafone.
In summary "Vodafone cannot be trusted and I would give their service a minus 3.

I have contacted VF via email after being kept on hold for an hour only to speak to an Indian who couldn't help me. They have admittedly been friendly in their email responses, however they give you 120hrs to respond and assume your problem has magically gone away if you don't respond in that time! I have basically been told to switch to 2G and note the details of any dropped calls or inability to make calls - like I have the time whilst working to note all this down!! VF just keeps telling me their "techs" are working to resolve the issue and have offered me no compensation even though having to remake dropped calls is making me go over and above my capped amount every month.

On a fine mild day with no wind, I can get up to one uninterrupted hour of net browsing. However the speed is appalling and rates in the range of 100's of bps (yes, Bytes Per Second) are not uncommon. All this and Vodaphone says I am in one of their "good" broadband reception areas.

If a call is over 5 minutes it drops out, on Christmas Eve there were network problems all day. I recently moved to Geelong and the phone that was working perfectly fine in Brisbane suddenly can't work in 3 out of 6 rooms in my new house.
Mind you i do not live in the outskirts of Geelong, i live in a VERY nice part of town very close to town.
If i walk 5 minutes to the store it works fine.
I have complained and simply been told (and i quote)
"We are sorry but you must live in a dead area and i am afraid there is nothing we can do about it"
I then ask about cancelling my contract since they are not upholding their part of the bargain and get this response
"You are obligated under the terms of the signed contract to pay the full amount over the stipulated time period"
Fortunatly i do not have long to go and will NEVER use their pitiful "service" again

I spoke with an agent (after their 4th attempt to contact me due to no reception and dropouts) who said to me that I could have free service for 3 months and if still unhappy could cancel free of charge. After a further 2 weeks I couldn't take it any more so rang to cancel only to be told that will cost you $1250. I kindly informed them that the previous man said that I would not have to pay they called me a liar! After being on the phone for over 8 hours yes 8 HOURS and still many call dropouts and no reception during this time we came to an agreement of $250. They really are hopeless and would not recommend to anyone! 6314 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Can't wait to get out of my contract in Aug 2011 at 28 Dec 2010 09:50:43 AM
Poor coverage even in my local area. It gets worse the further out I get. I have a second mobile phone for when I travel interstate. Why have a mobile phone if people can't contact you and you can't contact them?

6308 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Very Poor Network Coverage at 28 Dec 2010 09:48:18 AM
I live in Melbourne, I am on a prepaid service and cannot make any calls from my home as there is always a 'limited service' display on the screen. It is frustrating that I am paying for a service that is not available. I am on call for work and due to the poor service all calls go straight to voice message and then I am unable to retrieve my messages as there is no service. How dare a company not deliver a service they are promising their customers. It is misleading and a complete misrepresentation to the consumer. Not only will I not return as a customer, I will definitely not be a brand advocate for this company.

We cncelled our landline, and went on to an infinite Vodafone plan. We are only 8km from Melbourne CBD, but 50% of the time we are "No Service" nd the other 50% we have one bar only. Pathetic coverage.

6284 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Pocket WiFi issues at 28 Dec 2010 09:37:30 AM
I have been. Vodafone Pocket WiFi customer for about four months. I signed up for a casual monthly plan and surprisingly, in light of general complaints I see here, performance has been acceptable, but service is another matter. I have had no success whatsoever using My Vodafone to check on usage. Every time I log in I am told my password is incorrect and after three failures, the account is locked, and I have to call the dreaded Lara. While waiting for an hour or more to talk to India, I'm continuously told how customer focussed Vodafone is. Then the password is reset, and I'm ok until the next time I log in.
Then there are the payment arrangements. I chose to pay by direct bank debit, but I'm emailed that my account is overdue, so I email back, only to be advised that I MUST call Lara. I just won't do it.
The silly thing is that for me the service I have is OK, but dealing with Vodafone over simple matters is just too hard.

Puzzled

Was a complete pain from day dot, slow & always losing reception. Cost me hundreds of dollars in phone calls trying to rectify the inet problem, but I honoured my contract until April this year when they said they would call me when problem was rectified, (no surprise the call never came) and was not expected to pay account until such a time. August, two year nightmare contract up, now using a different provider but being hounded for monies outstanding, even though I have a text from 123 saying account has been brought back to zero. I refuse to give them the time of day, not spending any more money!

6278 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Extreme at 28 Dec 2010 09:35:47 AM
The week leading up to X-Mas day I received 9 calls on my mobile which I thought was fantastic (usually I receive up to 100 calls per day). I've since found out all of these missed calls went directly to my VM due to no reception (and I'm 20 minutes from the Melbourne CBD. I've also have very limited luck in making outbound calls first time (prob a 30% success rate) and sending texts well dont get me started on that one. Needless to say no one got a "Merry Christmas" txt and I doubt they will be getting "Happy NY" ones either.

6277 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is THE WORST at 28 Dec 2010 09:35:46 AM
Customer service is out the window for Vodafone. Lara is so stupid, she does not understand what i say and frustrates me further. When i eventually get somewhere the person is so hard to understand. The issue i had was not able to download Vodafones free monthly pics and tones. You would not believe how hard that was to explain. And in the end after being transferred many times, the woman said she could not help me anymore and disconnected the phone!!!!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT

6274 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is disappointing lately at 28 Dec 2010 09:34:27 AM
Been with Vodafone 10 years, the last 5 or 6 years on prepaid. Until 3 months ago was happy with service. One day had no coverage, couldn't make or receive calls. Callers were getting message..phone switched off. Called Vodafone and was told I needed new sim card which they provided free of charge. Used to get reminder, top up due but not any more. And recently am not receiving calls. Even though phone is switched on and there is coverage callers being told phone is switched off. So far this problem seems only to be with other vodafone or 3 users. Until this morning I thought it must be my phone playing up and was going to get a new one at the sales. After reading this forum it seems a new phone isn't the answer.

6271 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Never works in my building in the city at 28 Dec 2010 09:33:33 AM
I run my own consultancy and i receive nearly 50 calls per day on my phone and my office is located right in the middle of the city, and i can't hear the calling person properly and voice cuts off and then in return i have to call them back from the land line number, what a frustration i have been going through for last two months, prior to this i was with another provider and never had such problem before i ported my service to Vodafone on an infinite plan.
* Then their MyVodafone section never works
* Customer service takes at least 30-40 to get through
* Customer service at the Elizbeth store takes atleast 30 minutes to get through and there is always a queue (they should hire more staff).
* I should never have joined Vodafone in the first place.

No coverage in my home town have to manually select Telstra network to have any service therefore I cant use my 2G of data I pay for per month. Worst customer service I have ever heard in my life transferred from one dept. to another by people who don't know what they are talking about, hate that stupid LARA!!
One received a bill over $1000 Collections were extremely rude saying it was all my fault for making to many calls making me cry, then next time I rang the lady investigated my account and said there had been a mistake credited me $500!!!!

Had $15.80 left on my prepaid but Vodaphone message says not enough to make a call and have to recharge! Recharged and lost the $15.80!!!!! Apparently you have to have at least $20 on recharge to make a call! So if you dont use your credit you loose it. So that means my prepaid cap is not $130 its $110! Totally false advertising and the word stealing comes to mind!
28 Dec 2010 09:33:33 AM: Not in my experience, can use it all the way down to a few cents.Maybe its your prepaid plan your on.

6258 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Maximum at 28 Dec 2010 09:28:41 AM
When signing up they neglected to tell me that their server had been down for 3 weeks with no idea of when it would be reinstated. I went to NZ on business and due to no email I had to resort to making calls following up business I would otherwise lose out on. This ended up costing me $900 which I argued about for 5 weeks then I contacted the ombudsman before Voda finally 'agreed' to "let me pay approx $250 [well over my $60 plan]!! To settle the matter. They weren't going to admit failure nor let me off due to their stuff up. I shouldn't have had to pay for any of it, they deceived me and didn't deliver what I signed up for.

6250 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is MAXIMUM FAILURE at 28 Dec 2010 09:25:48 AM
My service in Bendigo has Low or No signal, signal drops out while on conversation, messages received many hours and at times receive following day after being sent, messages sent at times are delayed many hours. Advised before signing up for 2 years, that Vodafone reception needed between Bendigo and Broadford, HA WHAT A JOKE, NO RECEPTION EVEN ON ROAMING, 15 minutes from Bendigo. Finally get reception to children 8 minutes before Broadford.
