26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

There are 5 subscribers in my home and we all suffer the same issues.

I have no signal. Tried calling, ended up in India. Woman insisted I must have another phone to test the simcard. I don't have one. All I wanted to know was there a problem due to floods etc. She had no idea what I was talking about and wanted to know what street I was in. told her and she asked for another street. Gave up. One message has appeared on phone, so it must be a signal problem, not the phone. Sheesh
7 Feb 2011 05:00:33 PM: Now have very weak signal from Dandenong South (I am in Carrum) Believe other people having the same problems. Surely someone at Vodaphone must know if there is a signal problem!

15261 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Ethnically Corrupt at 6 Feb 2011 12:28:26 PM
6 Feb 2011 01:58:31 PM: I know what you mean, when I was 17 and in school , my parents paid for my phone (im now 21 with a full time job) I went over my cap once by over $100 and received no notification from vodafone that I was going over the cap. Needless to say my parent made me pay all the overcharge fees (rightly so) so if you'd like your daughter to be more mindful of her phone usage I was suggest doing that. I garuntee I didn't go over my cap again lol.
6 Feb 2011 02:59:30 PM: Thank you for the advice...new rules and actions have been applied. Daughter currently less than happy.
6 Feb 2011 05:45:18 PM: no phones service does this for you optus telstra 3 virgin, all the same, simple thing don't give anyone under the age of 18 a contract plan. phone companies are not your parents and shouldn't need to baby there customers all the time. im with optus and have had my fair share of high bill and telstra to.
6 Feb 2011 09:36:59 PM: Not quiet correct...I have discovered that TPG do in fact send notifications when Cap limits are being approached, reached and then further warnings thereafter. Not sure how providing billing updates or warnings can be considered as spoon feeding customers. When I have my car serviced, if the engineer finds an unexpected issue during the inspection they will always call to initially inform me of the problem and any additional work required before seeking authorisation to proceed; or not.

Such a service would be a relatively simple programme for any Telco, particularly a network operator, to implement alongside their daily billing routines. These notifications could be sent via SMS during off-peak times to avoid any additional burden to already stretched operational platforms. I expect the real reason VF (and other mobile providers as you mentioned) don't provide this service is fairly obvious!
7 Feb 2011 05:35:48 AM: That's why you can call 1555 or login online to check your balance, don't be lazy and do the work yourself and don't be spoon fed
7 Feb 2011 06:04:19 AM: @ 7 Feb 2011 07:35:48 AM Get real mate, 1555 be prepared for a 2 hour wait and the online service is up and down more times than a French tarts knickers. Start living in the real world and handing out sensible suggestions instead of plain stupidity and insults.

6 Feb 2011 11:36:59 PM: Sounds like a bloody good idea.
7 Feb 2011 08:00:35 AM: I meant 1512 and that takes 1 min. I can my balance any time on line from many different computers any time day or night

7 Feb 2011 09:24:54 AM: I don't think you know what you're talking about, 1512 is to check your balance and I call that number 25 tims a day and have no problems and it takes 1 min each time, I can log onto myvodafone as I have today 10 times to do things and have no issues
7 Feb 2011 09:30:58 AM: @ 7 Feb 2011 11:24:54 AM: You need stronger medication.

Vodafone Agreed to cancel the contract and take the 2 phones back. Returned them both with box, manuals, cables even the original covers! Now they've sent a $3200 bill, with "we are going to prosceute you" etc, and denied receipt of the return phones. i've kept the tracking labels will see if i can get proof of delivery.
It's intriguing the way these organisations skillfully manipulate case by case to try and minimise damage and create the perception of isolated cirucmstances.

15243 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Very inconvenient at 5 Feb 2011 07:19:50 AM
I have already said my own problems on here... but....

..there are many others who, surprisingly, haven't seen this website and won't complain...

My barber didn't respond to my email asking for an appointment for 3 days. When I went in I asked how come it took so long, he said his internet was down. Curious, I asked who is ISP was..... guess who?

My friend couldn't contact her boyfriend at the Australian Open, and so missed 1 hour of the match they went to see because they couldn't find each other. He had no phone reception in the middle of Melbourne. Funny, can you guess who his mobile is with?... She also tried calling his mate, who was with him. She couldn't get through. Guess who he was with?....

I know for a fact that none of these people had even heard of vodafail, piper alderman, or the TIO, despite the media attention and them all being very switched on people.

I'm not faulting this website, or the awareness of my friends, but simply saying there are a LOT of people out there who've been screwed by vodafone who haven't even complained. The 15,000 who've voiced their anger on this site are just the tip of the iceberg.
5 Feb 2011 07:30:34 AM: We are fully aware that the majority of people do not know about this website and nor do they post on online blogs /forums / websites. There is nothing more we can do to promote the site and it has gained more media attention then alot of sites.

This site was created to show those who do browse the web post on blogs / forums / websites that they are not alone. I think 15,000 people are now aware that may not have been aware before this site was made.

Those 15,000 customers represent a huge sample size of Vodafone customers and we can only imagine how large the number of people affected really is.

5 Feb 2011 08:47:35 AM: Does that 15,000 include people like me, who "share their experience with vodafone", only to have my posts deleted and my iPhone 4 (which was so effective at posting my day to day activities using the Vodafone network) that you blocked it?

Any way maybe someone will get to read this before you delete is so they know what kind of person you are.

meanwhile as I drove from Brisbane to Campbelltown 1024 km 14 hours I:-

Checked into Foursquare 47 times uploaded 17 photo's

Checkeed into Facebook 18 times and uploaded 9 photo's

Videocalled on Skype for 27 mins

Talked on the phone for 2 hours 35 minutes

Sent 24 SMS and MMS messages

and generally had no issues whatsoever

My iPhone 4 has been IP blocked from posting here DUE TO THE EFFICIENCY OF THE VODAFONE NETWORK at posting from various locations AND I did speedtests which show that Vodafone is easily a match for Telstra , speedwise.

Stick your fingers in your ears like a two year old and yell "I'm not listening" as you no doubt delete this post too

I drove from Sydney to Brisbane expecting the worst after all the whining on this site, checked in on Foursquare and Facebook at over 22 locations, engaged in five hors of phone calls, sent MMS and SMS from my iPhone 4 and now I'm posting this using my Vodafone modem from Deception Bay.

No problems at all, I don't know what the fuss is all about.

29 Jan 2011 01:18:43 AM: It's funny how every bad experience is taken as fact without question or doubt yet whenever anyone claims to have no problems with their vodafone product/service then it has to be vodafone staff or their PR team.

29 Jan 2011 06:57:17 PM: I'm a Vodafone employee AND a Vodafone customer.

As a customer I've honestly had very few issues. What few issues I've had have been in the last month or two but my service is still very usable.

As an employee I'm happy to see people go to another carrier. I get most of my commission from customers coming to vodafone, not from customers who are with vodafone already. I'm also privy to information about plans that will have the network close to if not equal to Telstra's network quality by the end of 2012, just when everyone who is leaving Vodafone now will be off their contracts. We'll see how long people's memories are when Vodafone not only has the best plans but a great network to back them up.
29 Jan 2011 07:49:43 PM: Bahahahahahahahahaha, Vodafone will never be good as Optus let alone as good as Telstra.

LOL Fail!
29 Jan 2011 08:04:47 PM: "Telstra's network quality by the end of 2012, just when everyone who is leaving Vodafone now will be off their contracts"

To late mate for a lot of people - jam tomorrow and tomorrow never comes - I'm outta here way before then.
29 Jan 2011 08:13:05 PM: Post your speedtest here then, put your money where your mouth is.

Now I'm the other side of Brisbane in Marsden, bit slower down here:-

1.12 Mbps down, 1.09 Mbps up

http://www.speedtest.net/result/1132729267.png

No problems with reception on the drive through Brisbane, iPhone 4, made a couple of calls here and there.

Last time I was with Optus their network used to die, right on the dot of 8 when 'Yes' time would kick in...

"All lines to the area you are calling are busy" it used to take five or six tries to get through, it improved a bit with the olympics but not enough to stop me switching to Vodafone, my bills used to run at $600 a month with Optus now I spend $59.
29 Jan 2011 10:47:56 PM: funny coz i live in Tweed Heads and have had nothing but problems.
29 Jan 2011 10:48:32 PM: how do you do this speed test?

5 Feb 2011 09:13:30 AM: Hi @10:47:35,

That 15,000 does not include you as the vast majority of your posts have been moderated due to being off topic. To add, we remove any duplicate posts and you have been posting the same thing dozens of times a day for a week now.

More importantly though, your good experiences do not negate the bad experiences of tens of thousands of people on the Vodafone network. While it's great that it is working for you many others are not so lucky.

Vodafail.com Moderation Team
5 Feb 2011 11:10:17 AM: @5 Feb 2011 10:47:35 AM You say "Any way maybe someone will get to read this before you delete is so they know what kind of person you are. "

Now why don't you tell the full story? You were spamming everone's replies with your pointless speedtest crap. You were asked by the moderation team to keep your pointless spam to your thread and your thread alone, but no, you didn't like that. So YOU decided to spam pointless replies for hours on end, of which they were then all removed, including your original post. You then also posted the above pointless message non stop for over a week (hundreds of times) ... Also funny to note that you posted it from a Vodafone Store IP numerous times. So why don't you explain to everyone how you work for vodafone.

Vodafail.com Moderation Team
5 Feb 2011 03:19:31 PM: I am another vodafone customer and travel all over Melbourne and I DO NOT have any problems, I can make calls no drop outs. How any other people on here have made duplicate stories, or went onto someone else's computer and made false claims.
5 Feb 2011 03:21:55 PM: Also the speedtest are not pointless, if you the moderator start abusing people like you just did, proves what sort of a website this is
5 Feb 2011 03:37:34 PM: lol 'abuse' ... There is nothing abusive in his post, it is stating pure fact. The Troll above spammed this site for days on end, Thank god the moderators removed the dribble. Also very interesting to read he was posting from Vodafone store IP's....Sounds just like something you would expect from a Vodafone Staffer.
5 Feb 2011 04:28:03 PM: @ 5 Feb 2011 10:47:35 AM I have seen your multiple ramblings on this website, spamming post after post with the same message over and over again, even in posts not related. Now I read that you were doing it from a Vodafone store, breathtakingly abuse of company time and resources. As a company representative can you tell me if spamming is permitted under the terms and conditions of use for Vodafone?
5 Feb 2011 04:41:00 PM: @10:47:35 - you are an absolute moron to the enth degree. Awesome, you don't have any issues you're lucky then, but that doesn't excuse the fact that thousands of people are having issues with vodafones service. It's fuck-heads like you who made me leave vodafone and go to telstra.
5 Feb 2011 04:45:48 PM: excuse your language you freak. go crawl back down your little hole
5 Feb 2011 04:46:32 PM: I know alot of people on Vodafone and they have no problems
5 Feb 2011 05:31:48 PM: I know alot of people that had nothing but problems with Vodafone, almost all of them are now free of their contracts with Vodafone and the ones that are currently still with them are just waiting for the TIO to close out their cases so they can also be contract free and off to another provider.

If you want to read all the experiences people are having with Vodafone, don't just read here but also check out the Vodafone FB page. The wall and discussion pages there show you there are literally thousands upon thousands of people that are all having similar issues with Vodafone (and that is just the small percentage of people that either know about this site or the vodafone fb page).

It is great you are having no issues, and just as good that you know others that are having no issues. But this site was created so people could share their issues with Vodafone and see they are all very similar and not alone in their experiences with that company.

5 Feb 2011 06:58:10 PM: @06:45:48 PM I'll stop using profanities when vodafone stop lying to and cheating their customers. =)
6 Feb 2011 08:27:27 AM: What about the people who have issues with Telstra and optus etc, optus still has dropouts and poor coverage, both companies charge incorrectly on their bills
6 Feb 2011 09:08:01 AM: This site isn't about Telstra or Optus, however if you are having major difficulties with them then maybe you could do something about it and create a site similar to this to see if others are sharing the same pain as you.

The moment I got out of my Vodafone contract I went to Telstra and it has been flawless. Best speed, network, coverage and their customer service craps all over Vodafone's. Have not had a single issue with them. To be honest they are the exact opposite of Vodafone.

Very happy I made the leap!

7 Feb 2011 09:26:04 AM: I don't have issues from netbank and never had any
7 Feb 2011 04:15:41 PM: I know Telstra's network is better, but I'm not convinced about Telstra's customer service or website, but then again I'm not convinced about Vodafone's either.
7 Feb 2011 09:11:03 PM: wow who is this idiot. wow good for u asshole that u have speeds! horrayyy lets have a party. guess what! 15236 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Horrbile at 4 Feb 2011 08:41:05 PM
I'm so very disapointed in vodafone.
Late janurary, I continued making phone calls
and according to 1512, i was within my cap,
and all of a sudden it said i was $35 over my cap,
so of course i immediately stopped texting and
calling people, however my exclusive amount then magically
increase to $89, and now my current bill shows around $120.

today is the 4th of feb, and I've been evry careful with my phone,
havent called any premium numbers or anything of that sort,
but when i just checked my account balance, it says i have $142 dollars remaining out of my $150, but apparently i have a $35 dollar exclusive amount
which really seems impossible. I'm so frustrated and sick of this nonsense, vodafone needs to get back on track, I'm definately calling the TIO and trying to cancel my contract.

The way to deal with morons like LARA is to say nothing, it then quickly gets confused hand has to put you through to a Human!

15214 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Goodbye Vodafone at 4 Feb 2011 03:16:28 PM
After having Vodafone mobile internet since September 2010, I have had more dropouts than dialup, a $140 bill racked up which I did not use, and just lousy quality. I wish to say a much needed goodbye to Vodafone because I'm taking my business to somewhere else. Vodafone, you have disappointed me beyond my expectations, to think I gave you a chance, but I know now I should have stuck to my overall impression of you was right all along. I have had 2 dropouts in 2 minutes, I can't have that, I need reliability and you just don't cut it.

15192 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is No 3G Coverage at 4 Feb 2011 08:26:04 AM
After moving to Morning, I found I had constant dropouts and no 3G internet. After over 5 hours of calls and being on hold, I finally got through to the network people who said they would do a test of the area and get back to me in 3-5 days. No contact after 7. Contacted them, they said there was no fault. I asked to have my contract cancelled, they said that was not possible as the network tests said there was no problem. I was transferred to the retention department, who also said they couldn't cancel the contract, but they would cut my bill in half for the next 6 months???? If there is no known problem on Vodafone's side, why would they give me 1/2 price access for 6 months and ask me to test 3G during that time. I currently have an Iphone 3GS which only works on 2G? Wouldn't this mean that Vodafone is not living up to their side of the Contract?

15189 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Line Testing at 3 Feb 2011 07:41:33 PM
I spoke with the cancellation department on 24/1/11 to get released from my plan and was told the only way this could happen is if there were issues with coverage in my area and was transferred to the technical department to arrange a line test and promised a call back on the 28/1/11. Monday 31/1/11 I called and requested a call back due to hold times. They called back 5 mins later and placed me on hold! After 20 more mins of holding decided that is why i requested the call back and hung up. 3/2/11 I called back to find out what was going on and tried and the line dropped out. I called back and spoke to Chantelle who could hear me and it dropped out. I then called back and got richard who later turned out to be rod. He wasn't able to hear me and I requested he called me back. He called me back and i explained what had happened about the line test and asked him to record these on the notes on my file. He then said he would introduce me to someone in the technical department and explain what had happened after 24mins of holding the person in technical had no clue what was happening as no notes were made. I then spoke to the supervisor who told me that the line test had been completed and there were no issues in my area. As a result I asked if he had placed the notes of drop outs and they had no records. She then acknowledged that there were issues with the coverage and that they would not release me from my contract as the systems will be upgraded some where between 14days and 12months! I have requested a copy of the notes on my account and had to be transferred back to customer service who advised it will cost $21 to get them. I said it does not cost $21 to copy past it into and e-mail and send to me. Now 2 hours on hold all they can offer is to raise this with the privacy department who will take 7 days to contact me and verify that this is my account before they can release the notes to me. Very unacceptable! Sorry vodafone after 6 years of loyalty I'm outta here.
3 Feb 2011 08:43:57 PM: Call the TIO, you've done your part band vodafone don't want to be reasonable. If you go to the TIO you will get out of your contract.
4 Feb 2011 07:28:01 AM: There are privacy issues and they are following the guidelines
4 Feb 2011 12:22:59 PM: Vodafone were giving me the same run around too but i got out of my contract, you need to be firm with them, it worked for me.

15175 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is disappointing at 3 Feb 2011 03:08:02 PM
My history with Vodafone goes back when it started sponsoring Ferrari and Michael Shumacher some years ago and when I noticed their Simcard changed its colour from obscure green/orange to bright red. I have been their loyal customer. I even convinced my wife to go on the same contract with me. Our 2 year iPhone 3GS contracts with Vodafone are to expire in September 2011. I had always thought frequent dropouts and terrible 3G data speed were common in Australia. Didn't know the problem until I read that SMH/The Age article in December 2010. A huge letdown. I have been unable to get my account balance or usage details from the Vodafone website for the last 2 days. I have tried numerous times at different times of the day, from several different PCs. They can't seem to do anything right. I have experienced bad reception, non functional website, bad customer service, delayed SMS, people unable to leave a voicemail message for me yesterday. I'm changing to Optus as soon as my contract is up, which is very soon fortunately.

15154 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Data services are very patchy at 3 Feb 2011 09:00:03 AM
Getting 3G data consistently to apps on my iPhone is very hit-and-miss; some days apps (such as TramTracker here in Victoria) get data on trams immediately - other times I get NOTHING and just a message that an "Internet Connection cannot be established". I'm getting 4-5 bars of Signal and the phone says I am connected to the "3G" network - but no data comes through. Every time you ring Vodafone, you just get told to "reset the Network Settings", which hasn't made a blind bit of difference. What is going on here? Can their network just not cope with the data load? Why is it so patchy? Bloody annoying ... of course, its always when I need it to work that it doesn't!!

I get 500Mb data a month on my plan plus a bonus 1Gb for the first 24 months - there's no point in giving me the bonus Gig, as I have yet to manage to use 500Mb because of how patchy the data feed is! UGH!!!
4 Feb 2011 05:09:25 PM: I'm on the same boat as you. I get the 'Internet connection cannot established' more than the signal 'E' or 'o'. Oh! I forgot there is also '3G' but that hardly stay on longer than 1 minutes.

15148 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is constant delays... at 3 Feb 2011 06:59:41 AM
I am so sick and freaking tired of the time it takes for calls to be connected, voicemails to come through and data to download I could SCREAM!!!! a month ago things were average. but since then my husband & I have both noticed a sharp decline in all of the above. at times, I'm tempted to throw my phone against the wall in frustration. I have 6 more months with the incompetant company - and am counting the days until I can tell them where they can shove their poor coverage & service. problem is, is anyone any better??? I've had poor experience with optus (and virgin who use their lines from my understanding) and we all know of telstra's terrible reputation. where does that leave us??? it's down right apalling that australia has such shocking service. I had better coverage & service for a fraction of the price when I lived in indonesia - and they're a 'third world country'!!!! Vodafone - you should be rightfully ashamed of yourselves & my sincere hope it people leave you en masse seeing you are aware of these problems and are doing NOTHING about it yet still signing up more & more poor bastard with false promise. shame, shame, shame...
3 Feb 2011 11:49:12 AM: Complain to TIO, I had 6 months to go on my contract as well. Vodafone released me without any fees one day after they got my TIO complaint referred to them. Good luck.

15139 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Completely unreliable! at 2 Feb 2011 09:44:32 PM
My previous post - 2705 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Completely Unacceptable Network Reliability at 27 Dec 2010 04:05:25 PM

After getting no where with 'customer service' I logged a fault 2 weeks ago and was advised that I would receive a call back within 5 days. It took me almost one hour to get through to a rep and I was continually transferred between departments. To my surprise, I received an sms to advise my issue was being investigated. Guess what? I never received a call back! So I attempted to isolate the issue and correct myself!

My Blackberry Torch continually drops out and doesn't receive sms, notifications and emails! Being an experienced BB user, I wiped the handset and located a newer Voda AU firmware. This reduced the amount of crashes, but did not fix the network and data connectivity issues.

I called Voda last night and got through after 1.5 hours... and the IVR has to be the most annoying ever! The consultant advised that my issue was 'closed' as no issues with network identified. I was offered 2 months credit as a gesture of good will. NO apology or explanation as to why no call back was performed... Nor was I advised if and when the issue would be corrected... great customer service - no acceptance of liability and no resolution in sight!

I had to listen to all the generic 'trouble shooting' which I quickly put an end too by advising I am not a simpleton and performed the necessary steps to isolate the issue. I have 2 other Blackberries on alternate networks and they work fine... even my 3 USIM works in Voda's Torch!

My call with Voda ended with the consultant indirectly advising that if issues continue that steps could be taken to break the contract due to Voda' inadequate service!

Should I contact the TIO to have the contract voided as Voda clearly cannot honour their contractual obligation? I work in dispute resolution and know that it would be deemed fair and reasonable to make such a request.
2 Feb 2011 09:52:09 PM: It sounds like what Vodafone was offering to you doesn't solve your problems. If you want to get out of your contract immediately and Vodafone refuses to do that then it's definitely time to call the TIO. Contact them immediately as they will give Vodafone up to 10 days to contact you once you file a complaint.

All the best!

15092 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Absolutely Disgraceful... at 2 Feb 2011 08:00:35 AM
OMG, where do I begin? Had a lot of problems with the 3 network due to network connection issues and was tricked by being told we could only cancel the contract if we switch to the Vodafone network. Vodafone is even worse than 3, if thats possible! Have been with Vodafone now for 3 months and phone calls are constantly dropping out with call failed coming up on the screen, regardless if I makes a call or if someone else is calling me which happens with every single phone call, text messages sent from other people both here in Australia and also Texas and Cambodia are not being recieved. I have my own business and we are losing clients due to the extreme lack of network coverage provided by Vodafone, with clients calling and the calls dropping out, me returning calls, and dropping out again and again and again... Even calling Vodafone directly is an issue. I am constantly getting call failed coming up, and it also happens when on the phone to Vodafone. Basically, Vodafone can not provide the phone service that I was promised. I have contacted Vodafone regarding the issue on several occasions, sometimes getting through to them, only when calling from my home phone though, other times not. When I do get through to them, they are frikken rude, uncooperative, unhelful, blaming the sim card or the phone, telling me to reboot etc. Yesterday, after being on the phone to them for over 3 frikken hours, they still would not allow me to be put through to disconnections as they needed technical support to tell them there is an issue, as if they dont already know there is a frikken issue as I got disconnected several times while on the phone, and have been disconnected several other times while being on the phone to them also plus the issues everyone else on here is having, bastards! I got the mega pissed with them yesterday while I was on hold and sent an email off to the TIO, and now they are looking into it, fingers crossed I can get outta my contract and go with another company who is reliable and get my business back on track!
2 Feb 2011 12:53:18 PM: Woohoo for me! After lodging my complaint with the TIO yesterday afternoon, I recieved a phonecall from Vodafone Resolutions this morning and spoke to...an Aussie! He informed me that they have agreed to waive my contract without any fees, only thing is I have to send me BlackBerry back, but oh well, no more bs from Vodafone! It is definately worth taking the 10 mins to fill out an online complaint with the TIO, its amazing how once the TIO gets involved, Vodafone changes there mind regarding cancelling your contract. Good luck guys :)

I called to VODAFAIL to enquire whats going on, my plan is changed, call rates are changed? Guess what, my friends...Surprise, Sorry Sir, you call rate are not the one your are quoting its different as per your plan....advised by (Customer Screw Centre), then I lodged the complaint to TIO. They said someone will contact you from VODA-FAIL and this time they did,,,Wooo-Hoo so happy, but it doesn't last long, the Lady on the other end was adamant that whatever is written on the notes is right and the call charges plan everything is right but not you.....Even she said to me please feel free to go to LEVEL 2 TIO, which I did..now lets see what will happen......Anyhow, my friends, My countrymen keep the this voice alive and loud until we get a fair go.

I was waited for 40mins and by the time the call was answered it was 755PM. I was asked my name and I was told they are closed and call back.

I was so angry and I told him that you are still open as it's only 755PM, 5 more mins and you can't expect me to call back tomorrow at wait for another 40mins. He refused to help me and insisted me to callback tomorrow. I was yelling at him and said I want to speak to his supervisor and he refused to transfer the call but terminated my call.

15036 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Extreme at 1 Feb 2011 07:46:16 AM
Apart from the call drop outs, delay in voicemail delivery and the frustration of spending numerous hours on hold, I have been dealing with outgoing email problems from my Iphone which was recommended by Vodafone to purchase in 2008. It started over 7 months ago I would receive emails from my host server but when ever I replied or sent an email from the Iphone it went into Cyber Space. It took a little while before I realised my emails were not being received. I am self employed and therefore rely heavily on what package Vodafone sales team sold to me. Vodafone firstly told me that it was my problem as no one else was experiencing these types of problems and I must have done something to cause this issue. After further waiting on the phone with Vodafone customer service representitives and being told it was not Vodafone but my host company problem, I then spent many hours with my host company trying to assist me without success. Vodafone finally admitted their fault, it was a major spam problem they had experienced causing the problem. The rep told me they were working on it and should not take to long before going back to normal. After waiting a few more weeks I went through the same old Vodafone frustrating contact process (hours and days on hold)and was told to use an alternative website to reply to my emails. This worked for about a 3 days then I started having the same problems again with their recommendations!! Please note, I have always paid my bill on time during this whole frustrating ordeal. All of my calls were naturally recorded by Vodafone, and all correspondence updated on my account, this showed a conversation I had with them stating they would contact me when this problem was rectified before the next billing cycle but they would inform me as their top international tech team were being flown into Australia to fix it. During Christmas they barred my out going calls, I was interstate on holidays and sat on the phone for 6 hours over 2 days trying to talk to someone from Vodafone. Finally spoke to a rep who understood my frustration and returned my phone to operational status as he was over the constant failure of Vodafone. Minor compensation has been offered along the way in the form of a $25 reduction in my bill!! I have not mentioned many other occassions I have been on the phone to Vodafone as this message would be longer then the Harry Potter novel. I spoke to a tech just recently who now said the problem only effects the Iphone so I should look at getting a Blackberry, when I mentioned considering it was Vodafone who told me to purchase 6 Iphones originally what could they offer given the inconvenience, his answer was "nothing as it is your choice". Ps my outgoing emails are still not operational even with all of their recommendations.

You still possibly have a lot more to wait and then the coup de grace, the moment you start to talk to someone..........you get cut off!

I knew i wasnt going to get great reception when i signed up but its jus getting worse, mms messages sent that never reach the recipient, dropped calls when im supposedly in high signal areas, 3G reception but never loads, long delays when trying to call someone someties takes minutes jus to start calling amd jus not getting any reception anymore, switching asap

8 Feb 2011 12:13:05 PM: I have just spent 40 minutes with the Vodafone techincal team to be told that they have to initiate an investigation in to the network in my area and that I have to give them 3 examples of my phone dropping out or never connecting. I gave them this & now they will only test the 3G network and come back to me in 5 business days, to which I won't have any service for this whole time, THEN I have to switch to the 2G network, try this for 24 hours, get 3 examples and then call back to get that investigation lodged also. This will then take another 5 working days, so all up half a month of no service before they will even contemplate cancelling my contract penalty free. IF, however, there is no network issues as they see it, then bad luck! There's nothing they can help me with.....

15026 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Poor Signal at 31 Jan 2011 07:45:55 PM
I live near Colac in Southern Victoria - (1) I have a wireless modem and have Poor signal and dropouts the thing is that the tower is located at the same place as Telstra & Optus yet Vodafones signal is so weak. (2) The Indian operators can hardly speak a word of English and that Lara thing is a nightmare to deal with if you cough while on the phone she goes back to the beginning.

15024 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Pretty fail at 31 Jan 2011 07:03:47 PM
I call people and I get nothing at the other end. They don't get me calling them and it just hangs with nothing. This can happen 3 or 4 times before it connects and this can happen about 20% of calls that i make.

Data? I though my slow painful data stream was the norm until I used my friends iPhone 3gs on another network and it was loading pages within seconds. It can take anything from 90 secs to 4 mins plus to load a page on the internet. On a game like bejewelled blitz i might connect once a day if i'm lucky, get connection error or no network the rest of the time. Apps or itunes is a big no no it just takes too long... all this time my battery life is dying. If i need to get emails it takes about 3 or 4 mins to download my emails. generally i use my iphone as a glorified ipod and a txt machine, so disappointing.

The trouble is calling vodafone is a joke. Lara is a nightmare and if you do manage to get put through to the right people she then tells you there is an hours plus wait. I don't have an hour to waste, I don't have an hours battery life pretty much because of the rubbish signal that i get. I rung the other day to find out how much it would cost to get out of my contract, I have been with vodafone for 5 years, 3.5 on a contract and still have 10 months left of this one, I was asked 3 times why I wanted to leave. I told him 3 times that the reception and data availability is not acceptable he acted surprised all 3 times and clearly wasn't listening.

I don't know what happened. I never had a problem until i got my iphone and i know its not that. Its almost like they didn't upgrade the infrastructure to deal with the new technology. Brand is not enough these days. I will be leaving when it doesn't cost me $680

15007 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Absolutely Pathetic at 31 Jan 2011 03:06:19 PM
I lost coverage AGAIN from 4.00pm on Friday 28th Jan until 3.02am on Sunday 30th, after which time it continued to come and go. It's monday now, and I still don't have full reception. This company was semi-professional once but is absolutely AWFUL now!! For a few months I've been tolerating the shithouse coverage, my calls being cut off, text messages arriving 3 days late etc. but I have finally switched providers & will NEVER use Vodafail again.

After this latest "technical difficulty", I contacted the Vodafail "customer service" line and, surprisingly, I was placed on hold for a ridiculous amount of time, and then somehow I was disconnected when the girl I was speaking to tried to put me on hold while she "checked something".

I've attempted to contact the company by phone and email, - I'm always put on hold, or "accidentally" disconnected, and not one of my calls has been returned despite the recorded message assuring me I'd be contacted within 2 - 15 minutes.

I've visited retail stores in person; - staff were no help at all. In fact, I told a sales girl at the Albury store that my calls always seem to be cut off at precise times, such as 10 minutes, 20 minutes, and 25 minutes, and I asked her if this was a deliberate action by Vodafail to force customers into making five or six calls to the same person, thereby using mass amounts of phone credit. I told her three other people I know each use Vodafail as their provider and each person has the same problem with calls dropping out. It was difficult to understand what she was saying while she was blowing bubbles with chewing gum, but she assured me it couldn't possibly be related to Vodafail's service. "Nah, it just wouldn't happen darl" is what she said. Classy. I think she expected me to be happy with her answer. Someone else I know received the same expert advice & assistance at this store, - absolutely useless staff who couldn't care less about customers.

This is definitely the WORST provider in the country, - not just the terrible phone reception & other service problems, but also the way Vodafail treats it's customers. As of Saturday I am no longer one of them, - joy!! I have excellent reception! And I can make calls that last longer than 10 minutes before being cut off! And I receive text messages a few seconds after they're sent! Best of all, I won't be paying this ridiculous company for such poor service. So long Vodafail, you pathetic excuse for a service provider!!!
31 Jan 2011 03:40:27 PM: You see! thats what I call...making a positive move.

I am running a business and cannot get reception in the point cook area. And many other areas as well. I'm losing calls and people cannot txt me or I can't txt them.
I did have some luck with getting the contract terminated which was not due to lapse until October this year. I have always been happy with their service and their plans are great. They are certainly cheaper than relates who I hate!!! But I'm not left with a choice. I've had to leave vodafone to go to telstra!!

14974 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Confused at 30 Jan 2011 07:23:24 PM
Vodafone is stating on their website that they are going to build 2500 new base stations in the coming months utilizing 850meg frequency. Where im confused is that their current dual band runs on 2100/900 frequency as stated on their website. Are they now going to run a triple frequency meaning we have to change our phones again???
30 Jan 2011 07:37:16 PM: The 850 Frequency is to try and get the iPhone, Android Phones and any other smart phone that is UMTS 850 off the 2100/900 frequency, thus the theory is it will un-congest the 2100/900 frequency for everyone else, whilst also improving performance for the iPhone, Android Phone (and other smart phones) that use UMTS 850.

Also to clarify, 2500 base stations are supposed to be built over the next two years (although it does state 2011 on the website), in the first 3 months of this year they are doing the first 200 or so...It is going to take up to 2 years for Vodafone to become even half useable again.
31 Jan 2011 06:23:05 AM: Also three users handsets use 850 network as well, cuase the telstra agreement finishes in aug 2012, syo they are getting ready for the transition
31 Jan 2011 09:57:48 AM: Not sure why this got deleted, but 3 customers have alot of handsets that are 850 capable, installing 850 towers will be able to handle those extra customers as the telstra agreement concludes in aug 2012
31 Jan 2011 06:12:08 PM: Thanks for the Info guys/Ladies very informative

14952 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Big Billing Fail! at 30 Jan 2011 10:47:40 AM
Vodafone did not send me a bill as according to the call center their computer said my address didn't exist, they had a mix of my old address and my new address, (funny how they sent me the phone??) I had also asked for email billing but when I phoned to query why I had not received one they didn't have my email address on record. My phone was disconnected for not paying a bill I didn't receive, then Vodafone wanted the whole amount (bill and Cancellation fee) within the month. I still have not paid the bill, I refuse to pay for their mistake. The bill has been sent to a debt collector, I am happy to pay for the phone calls but not for their stuff up!!
30 Jan 2011 12:06:31 PM: Whilst I understand your frustration, be very careful going down the line of not paying your bill. Vodafone are quick to give you a bad credut rating due to unpaid bills and that can take 5+ years to clear.

Your best choice would be to check out the 'How To Complain' link at the top of the page, and between Vodafone and then no doubt the TIO, push to get out of your contract penalty free and change to a carrier that can provide service.

Either way, Best of luck.

Vodafail drops out constantly, often you cannot recall the number which just dropped out as you then have NO NETWORK CONNECTION. TXT messages are delayed upto a day late. Sometimes you need to turn the phone off and on again to even get the message. Customer service is extreamly poor and excuses are excessive

I live & work in the Frankston area and recently (last 6 weeks) about 50% of my calls (3G iPhone) have been dropping out. Previously I've had no difficulties with coverage/reception but this new development is making me think very hard about staying with Vodafone when I upgrade to an iPhone4 very soon. Have had billing difficulties in the past but this was some years ago and was resolved successfully.

No service for 24 hours, dropped out Friday afternoon of all days! Would get a second of service and I would receive a message that was sent hours before then would drop back out so I couldn't even reply or call. This happened all over town where I usually get full service.

Can not stand Lara!! They send you around in circles when all you want to do is speak to a REAL person!

After moving to a town from a city not realizing that the data would cost more I received an extremely large bill I called one week before it was due asking if I could pay it off $50.00 a week. I was told I must pay $100.00 a week off and if I did not agree to this they would immediately stop all my outgoing calls and messages from that phone call not from the date the bill was due or overdue...you try and do the right thing! I have been with Vodafone for 10 years and have always paid my bills on time and could not help me this once! Not once did he mention that I could change my plan to better suit my new living situation and a few more large bills arrived and lots of tears to customer service workers before a random non-vodafone worker mentioned this to me.

I am counting down the months till my plan is over and I am out of there grasp!
29 Jan 2011 02:25:46 PM: Considering the poor service by vodafail...they are in NO position to dictate to anyone....I advised the Vodafail store at Orion last week....they are at risk of losing their communications licence and if they wish to dictate then we will see who wins....I also informed them I will not pay a cent until they remedy this....btw no interenet so far for 5 days....call cut out to their support....advised no barring in place...

We have sighned up with two Vodafone mobile Phones. One for myself who is visionly impired and one for my house mate so i can contact someone at all times for my own security and well being. I was promised 98% coverage. I have two phones witch in total cost 140$ a month on a bisiness unlimited cap. Phones are useless calls drop out. I have no security and keep getting a text book reply from over seas customer care. Placed on hold for 40 minuites at a time and can be transfured to 3 different departments just to get to someone who still does not understand me. I can not beleive this could happen. 14885 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is very disappointing at 29 Jan 2011 09:03:14 AM
I connected with Voda in OCT 2009 having worked for a local dealer in the past with no issues as far as reception is concerned. I connected on a $69 iPhone 3GS cap. Since approx OCT 2010 I have experienced a very significant drop in reception that is a result of moving suburbs. Now the suburb I am in is the same area that I previously worked as a Rep for. The degradation of the network was so severe that I was unable to even send a text from my house. So last week I called the CC and complained. They attempted to check the settings on my handset and agreed they were all fine, I then called back on a Saturday (last sat) and put in another complaint, they attempted to fix my issue again however were not able to so they opened an investigation. 5 days later they had not called me so this morning I called and asked on the status of the investigation. They concluded I was in a low coverage area and I could be released from my contract without penalty and would have to pay $150 to keep my handset (after bartering him down from $320). I am very happy with this as my account is in credit by $80 :). I went to telstra and am now the owner of an iPhone 4.
Throughout all this I was polite and calm and only asked that they see my point. I am happy with the Customer Service I received and feel they did actually try to fix the issue but honestly what can they REALLY do when its a network issue. Hope this all helps to all those wanting to leave, all up it took 10 days to be released from my contract on MY terms not thiers.

14883 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is absolute disgrace at 29 Jan 2011 08:43:21 AM
Tried to register pre paid sim. Used LARA service, registered the sim by voice recognition. So far so good. Lara says sim will be active within 30 minutes. Try to recharge an hour later and sim not registered. Lara voice recording says this can take up to 12 hours now due to technical issues. Half a day later I try to recharge, phone sim still not active. Lara transfers me to a customer service rep who takes my details again over the phone. ( Surprisingly did not wait long for a customer service rep ). Rep take down all the details again as given to Lara 14 hours ago and says Lara sometimes does not work. Rep activates the service manually and says to turn off the phone and wait 30 minutes.

I turn on the phone 30 minutes later and go to put funds on the phone. Back to square one - phone still not activated and has taken me back to the initial Lara service wanting to take my details again.

What a joke. They can't even register pre paid sim cards correctly anymore. I am left with a pre paid sim that I still cannot activate after 2 days. Figure if I try registering by the Lara service again the same will occur.

Completely lost, will use prepaid sim from another provider.

14862 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is No Network at 28 Jan 2011 08:39:09 PM
I have been a Vodafone custumer for 4.5 years now and in that time have been fairly happy with everything. But in the last 2-3 months I have had nothing but problems. Calls dropping out, text messages not sending, no network coverage in areas that are meant to have full coverage. It is starting to annoy the crap out of me as I rely on my phone for alot of things.

14857 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is constant problems connecting to web and call dead zones at 28 Jan 2011 06:41:50 PM
I stupidly and regratably switched across from 3 to vodafone and upgraded my phone with a 2 year plan. Now I am only able to get half the reception I used in both metro and country. 70 % of the time I try to use google or update emails I cant or phone cant connect to server. Im really pissed off I changed as I never had one problem with 3 ever
29 Jan 2011 01:14:55 PM: now that vodafone own 3 we are geting there problems all the time dropouts, reception from nothing to full by moving one step to the left...

Hubby and I both have iPhones with Vodafone - neither of us has made or received a single call today that has not dropped out. Same for yesterday, and the day before, etc. Huge delays in in MMS messages arriving at their destination, completely unable to access the internet despite having apparently full 3G coverage, received calls going directly to voicemail despite phone being switched on and with apparently full 3G coverage. I think you get the general idea. Multiple attempts at contacting customer service, however our phones keep dropping out prior to completing our calls...
28 Jan 2011 10:09:19 PM: Looks like you'll have to use a landline, AND send them an email.

14848 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is No signal, no service at 28 Jan 2011 05:10:54 PM
We've had no service for 7 hours - on 2 Vodafone iphones! Have had constant problems over the past 12 months with phone calls dropping out or not calling at all (when signal is available) and cellular data only working occasionally. Have been on hold with Vodafone trying to void our contracts for well over an hour and not impressed at all.

Calling the cancell my account.. the lying little c*nt at prepaid told me I'd wait "maximum 4 minutes" to speak to billing... I've been waiting 30 minutes!! that lying little f*cker!!

I don't care if they are Indian, Aussie or eskimos - if they lie to a customer they are scum!!!

Thanks vodafone for the great service - your employees are a bunch of liars!!! ..stealing our info off the net too... and giving it over to organised crime!!!

28 Jan 2011 04:08:56 PM: OMFG THAT F*CKING BITCH PUT ME IN ANOTHER F*CKING QUEUE!!! JUST THE SAME AS IF I HAD HAVE CALLED IN THE FIRST PLACE.... THIS IS A F*CKING JOKE....
28 Jan 2011 04:21:17 PM: STILL. F*CKING. WAITING!!!!!!
28 Jan 2011 04:22:52 PM: that's the 1 hour mark.... pick up the f*cking phone vodaf*ckers!!!!
28 Jan 2011 04:29:44 PM: some *ssh*ll answered... now he's put me on hold again... this time "for a minute or two"..... 6:29pm... let's see how long it takes....
28 Jan 2011 04:32:46 PM: back on time! but he only came to tell me he was putting me on hold for another 6-7 minutes... this should be interesting....
28 Jan 2011 04:38:05 PM: on hold again! surprise..... now waiting for supervisor!
28 Jan 2011 04:51:58 PM: HAHA you're kidding... now the supervisor is going to call me back....
28 Jan 2011 04:52:48 PM: Vodafone has a f*cking army of indians just waiting to sap up my time..... good friday arvo!!
28 Jan 2011 05:03:08 PM: They said 5 minutes. I stressed that people had been told 5 minutes and they hadn't heard back in 2 weeks! The supervisor insisted that she'd be just 5 minutes. That was 13 minutes ago..... let's see how long I wait... (she probably just finshed her shift!) f*cking b*tch!!
28 Jan 2011 05:08:43 PM: That's 20 minutes - she said 5.... WTF!!!
28 Jan 2011 05:09:38 PM: am I supposed to sit here waiting all f*cking evening... it's already been nearly 2 HOURS!!! I want to get dinner I had a f*cking long enough day as it is.... F***************CK!!!!
28 Jan 2011 05:09:47 PM: Whilst I understand your frustration, to avoid moderation of your posts can you please avoid any further profanity.

Regards,
vodafail.com moderation team
28 Jan 2011 05:21:24 PM: Supervisor gave me her name (probably a fake name) and said she'd call me back in 5 mins... it's now been over half an hour..... seriously, no seriously... what can I do... it took me 1 1/2 hours just to get hold of her (spoke to 5 people and went on hold 5 times before being put through to her)... an absolute farce..
28 Jan 2011 05:27:35 PM: Welcome to the world of Vodafone!!!!

When (if) she does ring you back tell her you shall be taking this matter to the TIO......it does change their attitude somewhat!!!

The details of TIO may be found on the tab How To Complain located at the top of the page.

Good luck, we share your pain!!!
28 Jan 2011 05:28:31 PM: Supervisor was supposed to call me back in 5 now it's been 40 minutes....
28 Jan 2011 05:30:53 PM: This is f*cked I give up going to the gym... I suppose 2 1/2 hours wasn't long enough..... all I wanted was my money back....
28 Jan 2011 05:31:13 PM: good night all
28 Jan 2011 05:40:34 PM: just lodged my first complaint with the TIO....
28 Jan 2011 05:41:18 PM: Worst part of this is that this is how most vodafail customers get treated.
28 Jan 2011 06:47:58 PM: lol, now back from the gym.... "i'll call you back in 5"... has now been 2 hours!!!!
28 Jan 2011 06:57:35 PM: I'm at a complete loss as to what to do...........
28 Jan 2011 06:58:28 PM: meanwhile Nigle Dews is probably having the seafood buffet at my expense.... having a good laugh at all the suckers he's got diverted to india! haha jokes on us people!!
28 Jan 2011 08:02:31 PM: Racist
29 Jan 2011 12:00:48 AM: 7 HOURS LATER AND STILL NO CALL - WTFFFFFF!!!!!!! LYING F*CKERS!!!!!
29 Jan 2011 10:37:40 AM: Exactly 18 hours later and still not a single response!!!!!! THEY WILL LIE TO YOUR FACE!!!
29 Jan 2011 12:24:06 PM: 20 hours later.... now I have wasted Friday morning because I couldn't work from home as planned because mobile broadband wasn't working, wasted Friday afternoon because I spent 1h 15m on hold then waited 2 hours for a call back from supervisor of modem data support (Nisha Rani - probably a fake name) which never came, now I will attempt to go to the store of purchase and get my refund... this is a complete joke... time to waste my Saturday. Oh boy!
29 Jan 2011 12:25:47 PM: And as a corollary, it cost me money to stay on hold last night, and will cost me money to pay for parking in the city today... they have not only f*cked my broadband access, but are also costing me from my wallet... these guys are thieves and liars..
29 Jan 2011 05:34:03 PM: I just went into the store and was given a $79 refund on my USB modem, but they refused to refund me on the $150 credit I'd purchased. It took 80 minutes to get the refund, in which time my parking expired which earned me a $60 fine lol... I'm writing to Nigel Dews...
30 Jan 2011 11:37:53 AM: hahaha well i for one liked the swearing. :) vodafone is a joke!!!! send Nigel the parking bill
4 Feb 2011 03:29:58 PM: UPDATE: I got my money back for the credit and the modem. I'm all signed up at Piper Alderman and I'm going to push all the way to get these crims back for the hell they put me through.

Also, now that I'm with another ISP - LIFE IS BACK TO NORMAL - IT FEELS AMAZING

I cannot register my Commonwealth Bank Credit Card (Master Card) with Vodafone apparently they don't have an agreement with them. How can they not have an arrangement with CBA one of the largest banks in Australia. At least 50% of Australia would have an account with CBA.
28 Jan 2011 10:00:10 AM: That's Vodafone for you!!!

Never easy!!
28 Jan 2011 11:40:41 AM: Pop into a store and they will add the card for you, we do it all the time
28 Jan 2011 03:14:17 PM: its not to do with CBA it self it do with Master Card direct debit cards
28 Jan 2011 10:37:56 PM: Possibly CBA has deemed them a bad vendor. Too many disputes with that vendor's customers.
Also, At present Vodafone may not comply with security requirements.
Lucky you. Buy a lottery ticket.
29 Jan 2011 06:55:07 AM: Hope you are not in a contract with them now, if this is the case, don't sign up.
Virgin, VFu...., 3, all are bad but with the latest info about their previous security practices, VF...ed take the prize for unbelievable incompetence in security, accounting and technical skills, customer service and possibly even fraud. Were alright as far as I could tell until 23 Sept 2010, after that it was all downhill. ? Merger with '3'.

Very poor coverage in metro Melbourne and no coverage country victoria. I have 14 months left on my contract. Vodafone advised me to get a telstra sim for when my service dropped out!!! I spent 1 1/2 hours on the phone trying to get out of my contract. I contacted the TIO and got a text message yesterday saying Vodafone has granted me a release from my contract due to poor coverage. No fees. and i keep my iphone.

I have been with Vodafone for years now and i have rang on numerous occassions as well as have gone into a vodafone store to enquire as to why there is no reception in Torquay and not one vodafone worker could answer my question. Vodafones reception in general has become disgusting. I am thinking of defintiely going to Optus.
28 Jan 2011 10:26:26 AM: If you have tried to contact Customer Care without success or not to your satisfaction the next step is to contact the TIO.

14771 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Doesnt listen to themselves speak at 27 Jan 2011 04:50:59 PM
After a 7 week wait, (was told 72 hours)vodafones investigation team got back to me about why i had network issues in my area (melbourne cbd)
Over the phone i was told.

VF:"The network issue is a insignificant issue
Me: the online map says its a 3g zone
VF: yes the zone is 3g but the zone isnt a 3g zone
Me: what? can you please repeat that
VF: the zone you are in isnt a 3g zone
Me: the maps says it is, its the middle of melbourne
VF: yes that zone is a 3g zone, but it isnt 3g capable
Me: my handset isnt 3g capable? (i have htc DHD)
VF: no the network zone isnt a 3g zone
Me: so melbourne cbd is a 3g zone but isnt a 3g zone
VF: yes. is there anything else i can help with?
Me: Supervisor Please
27 Jan 2011 05:19:07 PM: nice paradox
28 Jan 2011 07:46:45 AM: One time when having an issue I asked to speak to someone in Australia and was told that service is one longer available. God only knows what else is not available.
28 Jan 2011 09:18:33 AM: Why does speaking to someone in Australia make a difference? You think if that were the case they'd drop the phone and run out and install a reception tower in your lounge room? Nothing short of racism to think it would make any difference to your reception.
28 Jan 2011 05:02:16 PM: That isnt a racist remark...I would also rather talk to someone about the reception problems that actually resides in the same country from the one where I am experiencing the difficulties. What happened to common sense?

contacted TIO, got a reference number, do i contact vodafone or do they have to contact me within the 10 days to work out my issue?????
27 Jan 2011 02:04:47 PM: After you get a TIO reference number, the carrier (vodafone) has 10 working days to contact you. Don't worry about contacting them, as there is nothing they can do for you until their TIO resolutions team look into it. If they have not called you in 10 working days, contact the TIO again with your original reference number and they will make it a level 2 case.

14749 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Money for nothing at 27 Jan 2011 01:49:07 PM
I signed up to a $49 cap with vodafone in September 2010. Ever since then, the internet connect has been pretty poor. In early Jan of this year, it became almost non existent - It now takes on average 45 seconds to download the google home page and at times it wont even do that. Forget watching any videos on you tube - 'network error' and checking emails - 'unable to load conversation'. I'm pretty reliant on email for work and study and I'm sure I'm not alone. I cant get ADSL at my home so I was hoping to supplement my Telstra wireless bigpond account with the 1.5GB (+ 1GB bonus) data allowance per month by using my phone as a portable wifi hotspot - sounded like a great idea but now I'm lucky to get 3 or 4 MB per day. I called vodafail a few times but like most of you, I dont really have the time to wait on hold for 30 - 60 mins. at a time. I eventually got through and spoke to a man in a call centre who informed me that I should try switching the phone off and on again and see if that makes a difference or try the SIM in another handset - why would I need to try another handset? I have a brand new handset provided by vodafail. He told me that a 'team' of engineers would investigate the problem and get back to me in 4 -5 days....that was 5 days ago. Just sent a complaint to the TIO. I'm tired of being ripped off and I want out.... hello Telstra.

I got out of the 2 contracts, now I want the handsets unlocked. The only way to pay is via a credit card, but they dont accept a Commonwealth Bank of Australia credit card. I was told to find someone who has another credit card and get them to pay for it, and me pay them back. Bloody disgraceful, 50 minutes on the phone to the pricks and they still wouldnt take my card, so I am stuck with 2 phones locked to their shit network
27 Jan 2011 08:35:48 AM: did you go to vodafone.com.au/unlock
30 Jan 2011 06:52:00 AM: Yes, it wont process due to the commbank credit card. They dont accept them.
