Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

8916 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is a very poor company to work for at 30 Dec 2010 08:33:30 AM
i work for vodafone in store and in all honestly, i think 80% of the customers ive dealt with on a day to day basis over the last 3 months have been complaints. from service to billing to wait times on phones..... its a joke not just for the consumer but for the lowly employee who has to face the consumer while the guys at the top sip there tea and smoke cigars not doing anything about its dwindling support and customer base. GET OFF YOUR ASS VODAFONE AND PREPARE TO GET IT KICKED!
4 Jan 2011 01:56:22 PM: Ohhhh, how I can so sympathised with you!. I used to work as a 1st level call taker in tech support for an ISP that had continual speed problems and we got complaints all the time. Mean while managers and employees above did give a stuff. The company has since gone out of business.

I left before this happened because the writing was on the wall months leading up to this.

8909 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Falsely Representing their Coverage!!! at 30 Dec 2010 08:19:30 AM
Vodafone grossly over-estimate their coverage on maps. According to their own coverage maps, I was supposedly in a full coverage area. But with constant drop-outs I made a complaint. This is Vodafone's written reply: "Our technicians have advised that the service difficulty you are experiencing at your address is unfortunately not a temporary issue. They have advised that your location is one where low signal performance would be expected."
RIDICULOUS! How can they continue to falsely advertise their coverage? The telecommunications ombudsman said they have no power to force them to fix their maps so they are a true representation of the service they can provide. People of the world - do not sign up to Vodafone!!!!

8908 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Phone and Wireless Internet at 30 Dec 2010 08:19:15 AM
I was originally with 3 and then switched to Vodaphone for mobile on advice of better coverage, same with my wireless internet. Fail.....constant dropouts with my phone and just as poor connectivity on my month by month internet. The worst of it is getting through to customer service. I was on hold for 3 hours one day and still didn;t get through to an operator. Keep an eye out for AllConnect in March '11, competetive, service with a smile and all in country.

8906 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Unbelievably at 30 Dec 2010 08:17:10 AM
I have a phone but can't use it because Vodafone has network issues. Go figure. I was with 3 for years and hated it. When I was finally off my contract, I couldn't wait to switch back to Vodafone since I've never had issues with them. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. I'm unable to make any calls, I can't send or receive messages without there being hours of delay and I can't use BlackBerry messenger. WHAT IS THE POINT OF HAVING A PHONE THEN?!?! When I had issues earlier on, I called the call centre and had to wait in half an hour blocks just to talk to someone who can't even speak English properly. I've made complaints through the website but to no avail.

8905 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is needs to be cancelled, they have no idea about customer service at 30 Dec 2010 08:15:25 AM
I have been with vodafone for about 5 years now I have had issues before but no where near as bad as in the last few months I have been having major issues receiving calls and also dialing out, I keep getting call failed and then when people call me my phone does not even ring. I spoke to vodafone and informed them that due to the problems I wanted to cancel my contact without early termination fee's they said that it was my handset at first and then we did all the networking procedure but the issue was still not resolved so they said they needed to escalate it and that it would take 7 -14 days I explained to them that I could not go that long without a phone as my daughter was with her father and how was he supposed to contact me if anything happened, they said the only other option was that I could get out of my contact and pay $1036 which was remaining, I said fine and my contract was terminated I then contacted the TIO and spoke to them, a few days later I got a call off a vodafone resolution officer and we agreed that I only had to pay for my phone and that the contract will be terminated without any early fee's.

8902 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Terrible at 30 Dec 2010 08:05:10 AM
I have been with 3/Vodafone Mobile for over 5 years now. Previously, 3 Mobile had great coverage and I learned that this was due to a roaming agreement with Telstra. Back then, Telstra coverage was 3 Mobile coverage. Since early this year, I started to experience problems with my mobile phone coverage, dropped signals, dropped calls, poor battery life on my mobile phone. I initially thought it was my mobile phone until I have heard that a number of other 3 subscribers have been experiencing the same.

It looks like 3 has dropped their agreement with Telstra and they are now running on both Vodaphone and the 3 Mobile network. It has been lousy coverage everyday that it makes me want to chuck my phone out. Good thing I have a second phone under Telstra. I will wait until my contract ends in 2011 and stop wasting my money with 3 and Vodaphone.
30 Dec 2010 08:11:30 AM: 3 is still in an agreement with telstra to use their towers. And vodafone doesn't own 3 they are both owned by the same company.

Oh and also your battery life has nothing to do with your service provider

8900 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is missing the point at 30 Dec 2010 08:02:20 AM
I am in Sydney CBD, and yet can not make or receive phone calls or messages. All tests on phone have been complete (excessively long and unforgivable wait on hold) and the failure is the service, not the phone (big surprise there VF). An investigation is to be launched with results in 3 business days. It's very handy to have a phone that does not make/receive calls and due to the public holiday, and won't have the ability for a week.

Vodafone reception: FAIL
Vodafone service: FAIL

Lara, the most annoying automated voice: FAIL

Vodafone overall --> FAIL

8899 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Very poor at 30 Dec 2010 07:58:46 AM
I am living in Surry Hills just near the CBD fringe.
3G is not an option here anymore..
one has to manually switch iPhone and Nokia phone over to 2G to get any service.
Still get dropouts or the 'dalek' effect (tinny choppy vocal quality) daily and banked sms deliveries around 4-6pm in the afternoon.
But after 3 months of complaints and an email to the TIO, Voda service finally contacted me a week ago offering 2 months free contract period if the faults are not rectified by January 2011.
Great response..free contract period for no service period! Got to love that! Fail!

8898 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is very poor at 30 Dec 2010 07:55:11 AM
Vodafone USB Internet stick connection & coverage problem. I cannot open a page or browse my internet properly, keeps dropping out, gets disconnected. Sometimes, I send emails, it says (sent), but to my surprise my friends tell me, they haven't received the email. It shows connected, but there is no connection. The upload & download most of the times show 0bps, when I get connected, it says SIGNAL POOR or VERY POOR. In many occasions, contacted Vodafone, they haven't fixed anything as yet. I'm really fed up, frustrated, paying for a service, I don't or cannot use it properly.

8894 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Keep Disconnecting at 30 Dec 2010 07:48:10 AM
This is the first time I spoke for a while on a mobile. I got a call from my mum in Chatswood and am in Macarthur. For some reason, the phone keeps disconnecting after 15 - 30 seconds of call. And every time my mum or me tried to call back, the same thing happen again after 15 - 30 secs. And this happened to about 10 times until I got sick of it and gave up talking. Now, I am not sure whether the problem lies with Vodafone network or mum's mobile provider. Both of our phone networks are at high (at least that's what shown on the mobile indicator).

I am with 3 and previously there wasn't such issues before, that is, prior to takeover by Vodafone.

8892 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Regularly at 30 Dec 2010 07:42:32 AM
The fail for both my wife and I is in relation to picture messages sent from Telstra phones and in particular the delay in their receipt.
Examples are; A (telstra) friend and I (voda) sent identical pictures from our iPhone 3GSs at the same time to my (voda) wife with her receiving the pic from me within reasonable time. As for the pic from our friend, well she's still waiting and as a time reference, we were at the Metallica concert in Sydney.
Next example; Afore mentioned friend's husband (also telstra)sends pic to his (telstra) wife, my (voda) wife and my(voda)self bragging about his view during morning tea. The two girls get their picture within seconds while I had to wait until lunchtime THE NEXT DAY for it to come through.
While the issue is greatest with picture messages it has been known for basic SMSs to disappear into the void and that is regardless of which provider they are going to or coming from.

Just returned it again, only 3-4 months old, battery charge still doesnt last more than 12 hours, hardly any service, people cannot hear me properly, cannot access my main menu, cannot read my text messgaes, cannot access facebook service and cannot take it of silent profile. And yet they still will not replace it.

8889 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Worse than having no service at 30 Dec 2010 07:29:38 AM
Extreamly frustrating. The unreliablity is wrose than not having a service as I don't know if I will or will not get calls. If it's not gonna work then I will go elsewhere, but as I am on a contract, it's not as simple as jumping off and jumping on another. Such a pain.

8888 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Epic Fail at 30 Dec 2010 07:20:18 AM
A number of fails. I have paid to have an old Nokia phone unlocked. The details for unlocking didn't work. Spent hours on hold on several occasions. No call backs as had been agreed when I did finally get through. Instead I got an email 4 days later. Still haven't got the phone unlocked. I tried going into a Vodafone store but was just told to call them myself.

The most annoying phone call - I was on hold for 1 & 1/2 hours but when I did get through, the technical department was closed at 8pm. Nobody could help. It was 8.05pm!

Also, I live in Sydney's inner west and the 3G network has be a serious fail for the last few months. Vodafone's comment was that it will be fixed in the New Year.

What needs to be done? An Australian based call center. It's frustrating getting through to the Indian based call centers. I get the feeling the don't quite know what they're doing.

8885 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Total Fail at 30 Dec 2010 07:14:29 AM
After emailing Vodafail about the network issue/lack of reception, I ACTUALLY received a response..even if it was a typical troubleshooting reply. They've offered me 3 months of free access "as a show of good faith because they strive to provide the highest quality customer service" Does anybody think I should accept or stick to my guns?
30 Dec 2010 07:33:14 AM: Not really a tough choice - 3 months of free access to what, lack of reception and network issues? - stick to your guns.
30 Dec 2010 09:11:52 AM: 3 months free access.......but you can't get access...........means 3 months with a small brick the size of a mobile phone - stick to your guns.
30 Dec 2010 12:30:27 PM: I told them that I wouldn't accept 3 months free as they had caused me to lose complete faith in their ability to provide a service. I reiterated that the only acceptable outcome would be the null and voiding of my contract, and I would return the handset in pristine condition, with original packaging and all documentation as a show of good faith. Got told they couldn't increase the offer or let me go. Where to from here?

Have you considered asking the users of Vodafone what handset they are using, with the proliferation of iPhones i'll bet the majority are using just that, I have an iPhone and the reception is RS whereas my wife has a Samsung and her rception is at worst 50% better
30 Dec 2010 08:03:05 AM: Tend to agree. It seams like it happen more often to the Iphone user than other mobile user. I have a iphone 3, my partner has an old Nokia we are both with three and if we both stand in the same room at home i have no reception and she has 3-4bars of reception on her phone...

We converted all our company phones to Vodaphone (great plan whihc we are happy with) however, we never received the credit we were promised, we have constant over charges and poor reception. Biggest pain is not having someone who can help sort our the billing issues (let alone the reception issues). Major issue as we rely on vodphone for email and also as modems to give support to clients.

i have all the same complaints myself, husband and son all signed up 5 weeks ago and got the Nokia 8 we have continued dropped calls or unable to make calls no range text messages going through nearly a day later at odd hours waking people the 3 of us have missed out on work after work trying to contact us and can't get through so they ring someone else making us miss out we have younger children at home who are unable to get in contact with us at work we give up trying to use the internet because it is so bad.I have not been picked up from railway station because i can't make call and then i send text but they don't get it I have continually contacted customer service who end up saying i will just put you on hold and of course then they cut me off i have been to the shop and they direct me back to customer service lines the thing that upsets us is we need phones for work and contact with our children whilst working and it is so upsetting that we signed up without knowing there was these problems no one told us and now no one wants to know you after you have signed up. We are new and very unhappy customers and want OUT OF THESE CONTRACTS so we can go to a network that can give us what we pay for SERVICE Shame on VODAFONE we are telling everybody do not go to VODAFONE and the main reason would be the customer service on top of the Network problems which just make you more angry with the situation we feel we have been sucked in to a big mess

In the UK postcodes are within 6 houses of each other, so when you go into a Vodafone shop they put in your postcode (remember only 6 houses in the same street share that code)and they can tell if the service level is good or bad. They should be able to work out from address's where the failure is in Australia.
I have never had service at home with Vodafone and am really fed up!

I have always stood by Vodafone but service is hard to get and I cannot use the internet. I do not live in a remote area, I live in Western Sydney! My friends and family have tried to contact me and have left a message which on many occasions I have not received the voicemail until days later or 3am in the morning. I am currently on a $79 cap which I never go over and I pay all my bills on time. On Christmas Eve I received a message saying I was $160 over my cap, fair enough. Two days later I got another message saying my phone bill is $300 and the funny thing is that I have not used my phone over Christmas... I have tried calling Vodafone and the LARA Voice Machine keeps pushing me around and around in circles. If I do not get through today I will be changing my service provider and taking legal action...
This is ridiculous!!!!!!

Vodafone had great service and coverage 5,6 years ago. As time has gone on it has become worse, to the point were it cannot be called service and the coverage is crap these days. Despite complaining to vodafone all the time, there has still been no change to the service or coverage. Vodafone have so many excuses its not funny. The TIO was no help either it just made vodafone answer me a bit quicker, it still didnt resolve the problem.I am so glad you started this site, if i had known how to do this myself i would have done this years ago. Have been with Vodafone for the past 3 years, and in this time i have made more than 20 complaints as to incorrect billing, false information, system errors, lack of explanation, lack of clarity, and loss of signal in very inconvenient times.(important calls) The amount of time i have wasted of my life having to try contacting them only to find i have to spend, sometimes, nearly an hour at a time just waiting to talk to someone i can barely understand. Other times, after waiting to finally get to talk to customer service, having the phone drop out,(sometimes having them hang up, i'm sure)and then having to call back to waste more time waiting again. If another company had the same deals and value for money(without the bullshit, dramas and frustration), i would gladly choose another service provider. Mick Drylie

Out of the blue, Vodafone sent me a text message reading: "Your Vodafone bill for account ********* has been sent to your email address. A total of $144.72 will be debite on or after 30 Dec."
I have never had an account or been on a plan with them as far as I know. I just buy prepaid vouchers. Has anyone else had this? I tried calling but it kept dropping out even though I was calling from a landline. I really hope they don't charge this from me!
29 Dec 2010 10:09:26 PM: If you don't have an account with them, they couldn't possibly know your credit card details/bank details to charge you. I would say the sms has been ent to the wrong number by mistake.
29 Dec 2010 10:09:58 PM: Take it to the TIO immediately, you have tried calling them to no avail..........don't bugger about with this one!!!!
30 Dec 2010 02:44:39 AM: "30 Dec 2010 12:09:26 AM: If you don't have an account with them, they couldn't possibly know your credit card details/bank details to charge you. There's no need to take it to the TIO unless they do actually debit your account for the said amount but given you're on Prepaid they wouldn't have any of those details on file for they don't require them. Give Vodafone a call and tell them you received the message by mistake just in case they tangle the account with your name - That very thing happened to me with Telstra for a $7000+ phone bill. Insanity.

8775 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Failing in the extreme at 29 Dec 2010 09:28:16 PM
I cannot receive or make calls from my home, nor can I send or receive txts. Voicemail arrives 6-8 hours after a call has been made and seeing I have not paid for voicemail on my plan, that is the only way to access my phone, when I am out of my house! I moved from 3 to Vodaphone in November, same phone, same address, I had no problem with 3 and I have had not service from Vodaphone. My mobile number is the number given as an emergency for my children, and it doesnt work. In fact on December 4, my daughter was with a school group surfing and was badly stung by a bluebottle, my mobile did not forward the voicemail. It was some time later that the school contacted my home (fixed line) number to inform me of my daughter's distress and her request for me to collect her. The next day I made long calls from my fixed line to the Mumbai call centre who assured me that Randwick had excellent coverage. The coverage is so erratic as to be non-existent. They have failed to provide me with a reasonable or standard service, and take my money under false pretences. I am not a huge phone user. My needs are to organise work, and to manage the school activities and drop off and pick up arrangements of my children. Heaven forbid a real emergency to occur. I would like to know what Nigel Dews would do if the same things were happening to him. It is not acceptable and I will lose money if I break the contract. This needs to be addressed now.
29 Dec 2010 11:27:02 PM: Try and get through to the vodafone customer service and tell them you want out because of network issues. They should be listening now and if they don't you can go to the TIO. Vodafone isn't providing what you are paying for.

8772 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is VODAFONE IS A JOKE!!!!! at 29 Dec 2010 09:19:58 PM
After only 13 months into a 24month contract, my phone was playing up in a big way (or so I thought) and decided I would do whatever I needed to get a new phone and still happily remain in a contract with Vodafone. A customer of Vodafone for more than 6 years, my call spends are massive so I was hoping my needs would be met. With calls not connecting, calls dropping out, messages/voice not received for a couple of hours or at all, I needed a phone and fast as it was my personal line, landline and work number.

Not only did I make more than 6 calls over the space of 2 months, but in one phonecall, the total wait/talk time was almost 3 hours!!! And, there was not resolve. During almsot half of the conversations, the calls dropped out (again) and I had to go through the pains of waiting in the call queue again!! When the last call was finally made, we came to an agreement, I got a new phone but this was having to pay more than $300 for this only to find out the above issues were NOT because of my phone, but because of the network. Repeatedly I had advised that I was going to move my business across to Telstra if we could not come to an agreement and now more than ever, I wish I had!!!! Not only did I spend HOURS of my time and hundreds of dollars more, the problem was NOT resolved. I could have kept my existing handset AND moved across to a network that would at least provide that!!

ABSOLUTELY P!SSED OFF!!!!

A real person contacted me throwing deals my way to make me keep quiet. At the time $20 off my plan per month for the length of the contract sounded sweet. However for the past 4 days I have had 'no service'. It is time to get out of my contract as I see no proress.

8760 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is networking coverage was painful at 29 Dec 2010 08:52:07 PM
Started when I signed internet wireless with vodafone on 07/01/2010 at World Square Vodafone Dealer by the sales person named Laurie. He ensured that the suburb I live (Roselands NSW 2196) is covered by Vodafone. The contract is for 2 years, and the first half year was charged $ 19,95 (thats he said; but always gone up and downs even I never excess the user limit which is 6 GB per month). However after the first 6 months ended, the real story came up , since July 2010 until November 2010 ; when the monthly bill is $ 39.95 per month - I hardly can use the network smoothly. I had to move around in my own house to find the coverage and once I got it, it stayed only 10 minutes. I did rang the customer service and suprise surprise its somewhere around the world ( India or Somewhere not in Sydney) tried to fix the problem but nothing to be done. I asked them if they could give me credit for the service/product that they can not deliver to the client, and they said no; what a dickhead; sorry my language, but this is awful. The product is 6 GB $ 39.95 24 month - inc modem.
Thats my story and I can not wait if this matter can be fixed and I just wanna get out from this mess.

Have been customers of Vodafone for approx 3 years. In the last year the mobile broadband has become so difficult to use. The connection either drops out constantly - sometimes a few minutes after connecting, sometimes an hour or two. Then I can't re-connect - sometimes I've been unable to do so for days. The speed is also pretty miserable - akin to dial up from many many years ago. Have spoken to Vodafone about this often but have given up.

I've been basically told its due to the high number of iphones and data phones around now chewing up the broadband and they're working on it. Earlier in 2010 I was offered a $150 credit as I had pretty well documented the number of drop-outs I had experienced. They were surprisingly very nice about it but I did have to rant and rave to a whole host of Vodafone staff initially.

We recently moved from the inner west to the Hills area of Sydney and the situation has become no better - in fact worse. Great to hear I'm not alone.

NOTE: This is the second time I've attempted posting this comment. When I went to submit this comment - you guessed it - the internet connection dropped out! Surprise Surprise.

I've been experiencing call dropouts, and a message on my phone which simply said "congestion" when I tried to call last night.
I wasn't expecting much after 40 minutes on hold to Vodafone, however I did get a young man who was very helpful.
They are obviously taking their complaints very seriously.
My other issue was that the only reason I'm still with Vodafone is because of their ashes coverage, however because of their signal, I wasn't able to access day one of the boxing day test on the train home the other day because of the appalling patchy signal.
Was terrible.

14:55 today requested a call back - as "Lara" states you dont loose your place in the queue.

**WAITED 95 MINUTES NO CALL BACK**

17:00 Called and waited on hold. 45 Minutes later, THEY ANSWER!!!
So where is my so called "call back" you promise that i dont loose my place in the queue? Its absolute rubbish!

This customer service rep, doesnt help in any way.. Puts me through to iphone support only to explain my problem all over again to find out im speaking with BILLING!

Billing then put me through to iphone tech support which they say will answer my call in under 6 minutes.. Only to wait another 90 minutes and then they answer. They reset my net work settings and it doesnt help then proceed to want to put me through to another department. After discussions about not wanting to be put on hold he assures me his "going to wait until they answer and explain my situation so i dont repeat myself AGAIN".. And that it wont take longer then 5 minutes as its an "internal" call... well 2HOURS and 20 minutes of being on HOLD again to this department, i had to repeat everything, only to be told to visit the vodafone store. Its now 21:27 and ive only just got off the phone.

I will be walking into vodafone tomorrow and cancelling out of this contract!!!

In the year I was with Vodafone, as well as dropped calls lack of reception in Sydney CBD and lower North shore, as well as delayed voicemails, I was also cut off twice for spending too much. Even though I have never missed a payment (at Vodafone or at my previous provider) I started receiving threatening texts and automated messages that I had spent too much. When I called and explained I was OS for work (even though I had alerted them b4 I left) I was told this didn't matter and I had to pay immediately or be cut off. I explained that I had jus paid the last month's bill so surely I had another month before this new amount was due. They said it had to be paid immediately. I succumbed (as i could not lose my mobile while OS on my business trip) and asked them to email me the invoice asi would pay it immediately. They then told me that billing was autmated so they could not send me the invoice, I would need to wait to 2 weeks. I told them thati thought this was extortion - you can't just ring and demand payment - sending an invoice was standard business practice. I told them I wouldn't pay unti the sent me the invoice. So they hung up on me and cut me off. This happened on Two separate occasions. I rang and Emailed a number of times - and was relatedly told this was standard practice, I never ever received an apology. When my contact expired I tried leave immediately and got told romps a $50 unlock fee even though I had just spent a year paying off the phone. At that stage I just had to leave. Beware the fancy advertising - this company is a joke.

I was told by Vodafone that they would not offer e relplacement phone during the insurance process, and if the iphone were to be replaced, it would be replaced with a FACTORY SECOND iphone, not a new one, so I bit the bullet and got a new screen from chinatown for $100. 1) The call centre never picks up the phone, I have been waiting for more than 1 hour now.

2) The network is horrible and keeps on fluctuating always.

3) On the other side the staff is not trained and denies the facts return on the web-site. It looks like they are never updated with the latest updates and offers.

Thanks
Harshit Shah

I upgraded to a iphone 4. When i received it, it was DOA. Someone in india told me I had to use my insurance to replace it and after about 4hrs on the phone to customer service (they have flat out refused to replace it, telling me it is apples problem) and being transfered to every department that vodaphone has i just hung up and went and bought a $30 phone. I have 5 phones with them and am lookink for another carrier. Never again vodaphone!!!

8653 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Completely failed at 29 Dec 2010 06:09:24 PM
I recommend all Vodafone users look closely at the options. Join the class action and contact the Communications Ombudsmen. I for one do not receive the service that I am contracted to, so I expect that if I want opt out, it should not cost me one cent in exit fees. I'm sure that if we duped users band together we can all put the weight on Voda.
Or send them into the gutter which is where they currently belong. Get to work CEO Nigel Dews, because we know you are watching this forum and we, the consumer will win.

8650 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is complete fail at 29 Dec 2010 06:05:38 PM
dissatisfied with the quality and service of the broadband. have contacted and spoken to service provider numerous times but of no help. have asked for improvement in quality and service but my plea has fallen on deaf ears. this has resulted in loss of quality time after work with family and constantly on phone with technical support team of vodafone for hours. i would really appreciate if my complaint is taken seriously and provider is taken to task for not fulfilling their obligation and providing distress to the consumer that is my self.

8645 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Unbelievely incompetent at 29 Dec 2010 05:55:14 PM
Update. I just received a message (no call came to my phone and I am sitting here with 5 bars of signal) from an offshore call centre who asked me to call back.
When I tried to do so through the automated system, I'm told that the number is not valid.
WHAT THA!
I didn't want to say fuck or anything so I went with WHAT THA.
I can not imagine how anyone with a problem can make contact with Vodafone and get it resolved.
Without doubt the most incompetent service centre I have ever encountered. I have sold my shares and will get out ASAP.
29 Dec 2010 06:11:00 PM: all hail vodaphone

8643 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Big Failure at 29 Dec 2010 05:51:02 PM
I have been with Vodafone for over 10 years. The last 2 years has been painful. When 3G is turned on in my IPhone I have no reception at all. When I finally spoke to someone after 4 days trying to get through they told me to turned it off and back on in 48 hours. That should fix the problem she said and if not we will need to do an investigation as to why. Yeah ok!!!! Voice mail always comes through the day after I missed the call. Bit late then. Don't think I will sign up again. So I've keep 3G switched off so at least I can receive and make calls.

Currents issues: phone calls dropping out, phone switching to no service, photos via SMS saying failed to send but photos being sent numerous times and even during the night, delayed messages being sent. Rang several times experiencing long delays up to 50mins wait time, always courteous staff but no resolution then being put in contact with apple then back to vodafone but with no resolution. The latest response was go to a vodafone store and get a new sim card

8635 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is shocking at 29 Dec 2010 05:42:55 PM
Hi my name is Terese, i took out a 24 mnth plan 29.00,, the coverage is supposed to be 98% ?????,,, yea, big fib !,, my hubby works in Singelton ,but i swear Vodafail thinks he is in Kathleen,,, no signal, no txt, infact he recieves most txts, pic, etc 4 days later,, he could climb a tree to call me ,ha ha ,, i have lived all over the world, Australia is the bestest lovliest place ever, if i could cancel my plan i would. ! I had 30 bucks in my pre pay with Vod when i switched to the plan, they would not refund my 30 dollars.

I really believe Australia should have the same service and value for money as Canada, UK ! People get a signal white water rafting on the Zambezi, even climbing north face of the Eiger, But not in Kotara Westfield !!

Regards Terese Kerr NSW
29 Dec 2010 05:54:25 PM: I thought it was only me that could not get reception in Westfield! Everyone around me is on their phone texting and talking while im climbing chairs just to get one bar!!!

8630 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is terrible at 29 Dec 2010 05:33:48 PM
I constantly have trouble finding reception anywhere, even in my own home! The internet coverage is terrible and takes forever to load.

The phone I bought when I went on a new two year plan is the worst phone I have even had it had the worst battery life, blacks out and freezes randomly and only today the microphone has died (meaning no one can hear me on the other end!!)

As I was at the shops when this occurred I took it straight the the vodafone shop and all they could do was send it away to get fixed and this would take up to six weeks!!

I HATE VODAFONE - AS IM LOCKED IN A CONTRACT UNTIL 2012 I GUESS IM STUCK WITH A CRAPPY PHONE AND SERVICE!!
29 Dec 2010 05:37:53 PM: Actually you do have a way out, by contacting the TIO. Click the 'how to complain' button at the top and it will explain more. Basically you need to:
1) Report, and document, specific instances of problems, not just general "it does not work" statements.
2) If possible, use email rather than phone. It is slower but you have a record of what you said and, more importantly, a record of what they said.
3) Demand that they fix the problem. Be persistent but, importantly, be polite.
4) If possible, have another phone to be able to duplicate the problem to eliminate your hardware as the problem.
5) When they have failed to fix then problem, then and only then suggest that you would like your contract cancelled without exit fee. When they eventually agree, ensure the no-fee part is documented.
6) If this does not result in cancellation, ask again suggesting if it is not cancelled without exit fee you will escalate to the TIO. Usually, at this point, the threat to go to the TIO is enough. As soon as you escalate to the TIO it starts to cost them. It is to both yours and their advantage if actually going to the TIO can be avoided.

8628 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Wish I could call! at 29 Dec 2010 05:29:14 PM
Hi, I have been with Vodafone for quite some time now and over the past few months the reception has gone from ok to bad. We have to go outside to call and even then it can be dodgy. It would be great to be able to speak without people cutting out!

8627 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is DISGUSTING at 29 Dec 2010 05:28:50 PM
I use their prepaid mobile broadband and it keeps getting cut off and disconnected. I only use it to play Facebook games and guess what, in one month I have recharged $150 worth, while my friend who plays games day in and day out recharges 29 bucks lasts her all month. I tried calling them so many freakin times, and that speaker crap is like OMG, n then after 15 mins it says service unavailable... ARGHHHH!
