26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

I am on $19 plan with 3 mobile.I have upgraded my mobile to HTC Legend on 29/03/2011 and extended the contract for another 2 years by paying extra 5 dollars per month for the handset, There are several issues with the mobile i have received, i have contacted 3 mobile but they have not done anything to resolve the issues.

1)First of all, it is not connecting to Wifi. It says connecting...disconnected continuously. It never connected to Wifi. The main reason for me to purchase a smart phone is to use the mobile for internet but it is never connected to wifi.
2)My plan has News & Info package but it was not pre-installed in my mobile.
3)Signal strength is so poor i am not able to use 3G connection, it is always on roaming even though other mobiles have good 3G connection.
4)Battery performance is so poor it finishes the battery within 1 hour, three.com.au website claims the battery stands for 440 minutes.
5)It does not have Planet 3 pre-installed
6)Dynalink RTA1046VW modem which i use to connect for my laptops through another provider suddenly disconnects when i swith on the HTC Legend mobile wifi connection

MEMBER'S RESPONSE:
I have called 3 mobile customer service, they have transferred me to 3 different departments but not solved the problem.

I have called them again, again changed 3 departments. I went to 3 store then i called them again, then i have reproduced the problem infront store staff, customer service service spoke to store representative, but till date problem was not resolved. I have complained to TIO, they have sent unresolved email, they are also useless.

After sending my complaint through with some mild course language, I receieved an automated response that had obviously picked up some key words used in my complaint such as "Dropping out" "No service" "3G" and "Blackberry. After sending me an email with lots of technical jargon, I wrote back how disgusted I was that an automated message is the first line of defence in trying to redeem their reputation and also salvage what was left of my faith in them, again, a few choice words were used... Then to find another automated message advising my complaint would not be actioned due to the threatening/abusive language being used... WTF?!

F-Off Vodafone!!!

You've just opened the flood gates...

I finally ceased my contract with vodafail (it took me literally going into a store and telling potential customers in front of employees not to sign up). I am now in $100 credit and was told over the phone that they can send me a cheque but that unfortunately, the address that I live at does not exist. I am apparently without a postal address and I cannot recieve a cheque unless I live somewhere. Suicidal levels of rage.
27 Apr 2011 10:34:16 PM: Congratulations on resorting to embarassing yourself infront of innocent staff to get your way. Hopefully you find peace in your life so that suicide isn't a resolution for you.

I went to vodafone after my missus's new Iphone4 (which we just started on a 2 year contract) kept dropping calls and even sometimes failed to dial. I was told that the only way to deal with this problem was to turn off the 3G setting for the phone... So the point of buying a 3G phone as become redundant thanks to poor planing and implementation from Vodafone... (she still gets her calls dropped aswell). I'm considering paying to drop the contract so she is on a more reliable network. </Rant>

I have no reception at the best of times in my house, then they have periods like Sunday arvo (24th April) with hours of no reception.

How many times is this going to happen?

Then they (Vodefone) think, they can make it up, by offering a day of free SMS on Sunday 1st May?
How is that going to fix the issue.

What happens if some one needed to call 000 on the 24/4 and couldnt get thru? What happened if some one dies, because of this?

Its very scary to know that you can not trust Vodefone. Even in an emergency situation.

17281 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Effing Hopeless! at 26 Apr 2011 07:17:31 PM
My partner and myself had a Vodafone(fail) internet contract. We were on a $49 cap (I think it was about 4gb from memory) and barely even used it. So imagine our surprise when we received a bill for $900! WTF?! After 6 months (and one disconnected internet service later (on their end)) they finally realised they had made a mistake and we only owed, surprise surprise, $49. However, they refused to reconnect the service, and when we tried to get an internet service with Optus, we discovered that we couldn't as they had put a default on my partners credit rating! This has never been rectified. I have now had to get a pre-paid internet service (unfortuantly with Vodafone - not my first choice what so ever) which is so extremely slow, crashes constantly, expires after 30 days and the worst part is I pay $19 for only 500MB of usage!

They are blantantly ripping off consumers and they know it!

17155 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is 6 drop outs in 4 mins at 26 Apr 2011 02:39:24 PM
After using Vodafone for 6 years I have finaly gone over to the dark side... I am with telstra now.

There have been times when I have been making phone orders and my mobile would drop out every 10 seconds! After holding for 45 minutes to speak to a customer service rep about it the call dropped out :/

I went into a vodafone shop to ask what was going on (this was around a year ago) and I was totally lied to! They said it was due to maintenance on the 3g tower in the area I lived in. Said to turn off my 3g and it will work again. What a lame solution. Its a SMART PHONE for crying out loud! I use my 3g (or tried to)!

So in the end, after multiple call drop outs and failed attempts, I left. Nothing else left to do really. Its not going to be fixed any time soon.
30 Apr 2011 10:05:23 PM: You 3G enables you to connect to the internet at faster speeds, as well as receive MMS. If your 3G tower was under maintenance then your 3G is down. Despite this, your phone will continuing trying to pull bandwidth through this tower. As there is none, it will fail in this and you will receive poor service. Turning your 3G off will switch it to a lower GHz, which will be working, and allow you to make a call no worries. At the sake of your internet you will be able to use your phone. If this is a problem then it is your fault for becoming so reliant on your phone.

17141 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is TERRIBLY at 26 Apr 2011 11:19:48 AM
Had a problem in that Vodafone was repeatedly emailing to advise that the attempt to auto recharge my account failed. Twice a day, nearly every day for many months. They were trying to bill me for someone elses account on an old credit card number of mine that had been expired for nearly 2 years.

I rang them over a six month period at least twice a month. ON HOLD TIME was never less than 45 minutes.

Every time I spoke to them in their Malaysian call centre after getting on to someone whos accent was capabale of being understood, was promised that the problem was fixed.

So finally after MORE THAN 14 HOURS on hold and talking to people with a poor understanding of English, I got to speak to one of their supervisors, a lady named Magna, who helped finally fix it.

Yea!

Curiously enough I have never had a coverage problem with Vodafone, but vodafones customer service is pure crap.

Been waiting for a call or sms from my son interstate. Very distressing and worrying. Now I understand why I haven't heard from him It's his VF!
Waiting for May when my contract ceases and I can use my phone again. In the meantime I am using Optus prepaid on an old phone that didn't let my down even through the cyclone in Cairns this year. BUT I am extremely AGGRIEVED!
When the story of the security breach came to light, I immediately visited a major Melbourne VF store and consequently spoke with call centre staff and managers (all of whom advised me not to take notice of Australian media). Three times I was assured my phone could be unlocked but only if I paid a penalty for breaching the contract! So who breached the contract!
I have put the phone away and do not use the so called"service".

To avoid the penalty I am making the payments but I want my money back!

I would like to point out that several staff members (from various Vodafone dealers/stores) have been advised to turn all handsets to 2G mode to assist in network overload - new and existing customers. With this, they are not told to advise the customer of what they are doing unless they specifically question, and even so, are then told to say that they are changing settings on the handset to assist in coverage (although all they are doing is trying to reduce network congestion, which doesn't seem to work that well).

17053 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Get mad, not even at 24 Apr 2011 09:30:11 PM
To all the poor people who had SMS problems today.....just break your contract...it's not that hard, you really don't deserve the grief! Again...

How to break your contract:

I found that sending WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE was best, as their charter states that they have to reply in writing and that way you are not there all day talking to some wombat overseas with the risk of the call dropping out half way. At least with a letter you know how long it will take to get done.

Write to them at
Vodafone Customer Complaints
The Correspondence Team
PO Box 2580
Kingston DC, TAS 7050

and tell them what you would like - most likely, you want out of your contract because the poor service is unbearable. Tell them that you don't have all day to be on the phone to their technical staff and that the onus is not on you to prove that the service is poor - and in any case they are free to come around outside your residence and do some signal testing if they really want to be proactive.

Be clear and concise and outline what you feel to be appropriate resolution.

They will most likely provide a poor response, demonstrating that they haven't even read your letter properly. At this stage you elevate it to the TIO, having done your bit to resolve the problem.

If they suspend your service due to non-payment of your bill (like they did to me) you can remind them that the amount is in dispute and that they can't legally apply credit management action, but they probably still will.

Slowly but surely the TIO will contact you and ask if it's been resolved. You will probably hear from someone in the resolutions team who is actually competent and skilled in customer service, trying to help (remember that the TIO is like a gun to the head for them). In my case, they offered to cut my bill in half for the next two months, and if the service didn't improve I was free to walk - sounded reasonable. After finding the service worse than ever in the following week, I decided to call him back and advise that I wanted out now. He agreed - just asked me to return the handset.

In short, it's not hard to break your contract (from my experience) provided that you have a genuine problem, have tried to resolve it with them, are reasonably patient and methodical and involve the TIO at the right time.

Good luck

Once again, a nation wide problem where we can't send messages. It's Easter! You think this stupid, shitty network could get it together for one day. Not to mention the fact that I have tried calling Vodafone 15 times in order to find out what is happening. In those 15 times I have not gotten through once, I have been forced to wait over 10 minutes each call, I was hung up on, my call was terminated, or there was a 'technical error' and i had to 'hang up and call again'. Not to mention that 'Lara' pisses me off, and the hold music SUCKS. After many attempt at trying to resolve both mobile phone reception issues, mobile broadband reception issues and being told lots of times by customer service staff that "there is no problem", I have decided to abandon them as a service provider. Yesterday I took my USB stick to the Canberra store after over two hours and several people in customer services being unable to help me. In store the staff were unprofessional, serving several people at once and fooling around with each other. After 2 hours in the store trying to sort the same problem the manager eventually offered a months free mobile broadband. When it came to authorise it customer care services were down and they were not processing anything till today. I was promised someone would call me today. The young man I dealt with mainly yesterday had not followed it up, seemed surprised to see me today and had lost my phone number he did not seem too bothered that he had not tried to resolve my issue. I left with promises that it would be sorted today, only to get a phone call an hour ago to say that customer services have refused to give me the free month. Not surprisingly I got a bit annoyed. He has now agreed to call his manager to escalate it to him to get sorted. I am not sur that I have ever came across or heard of a service as bad as this.

Just signed a bundle of services with ActewAGL and Transmobile, including a month to month $39 CAP mobile plan. Ported from Optus (very good coverage) and now I have no service with Transmobile who use the vodafone network. Drive around Wanniassa, Erindale and Greenway - no service! They say it could be the handset, even though with Optus an hour earlier my 3GS iphone was perfect. Im about to port over to Telstra on a pre paid mobile plan and get away from Transmobile and vodafone...talk about breech of contract! I feel for long term vodafone contractees...never use transmobile or vodafone...only Optus and Telstra...they are the better of the evils (and they are all evils!)

Where to start...Last year in September(2010) i was in Japan with some mates. I use pre-paid vodaphone on an unlocked phone. As you can imagine being overseas and with pre-paid your credit can run out pretty quick accepting and making calls + texts. I tried to access my vodafone live account, I used the correct password and login but it said it couldnt find me. I then tried to email vodafone about it, they got back to me at the END of my trip, and asking me for details which i had already provided! So in the end i asked my mum and partner to text me through vodafone recharges (because accepting text is free thankgod). The real clincher here YOU NEED CREDIT TO RECHARGE? What? Are you kidding me? YOU NEED CREDIT IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY TO Rechage! Pretty damn frustrating to say the least. In the end I actually managed to bug the system so I could recharge by calling the recharge line numerous times. Stupid vodafone. YOU SUCK!

14 Apr 2011 12:14:50 PM: you can bill them for your time (you get a refund on what you've paid) since there service wasn't working since September 2010, you can ask for all that $$$$ back. The TIO will make it happen, or at least a good % of it. I've heard of full refunds but only if you complain fervently enough.

I may as well be using an old Nokia 3310 than my iPhone as the only things I can do on it are make calls and receive messages (although calls regularly drop out and it can take a day or two for voicemail messages to come through)

16616 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Mobile Broadband at 2 Apr 2011 11:23:45 AM
At the end of February 2010, I went into a vodafone store in the ACT to investigate possible mobile broadband plans. I was assured that where I resided in the ACT had good coverage and so signed a 24 month contract.

The coverage since that date has never been up to scratch, sometimes taking over 40 minutes to download lecture recordings that I require for University. Throughout the second half of 2010 i spent much time on the phone to vodafone (costing me money every single time as I was not offered callback) and in one week alone spent at least 5 hours in the store troubleshooting. My sim was replaced AND the modem, however the bad service continued.

Recently, I went into the store again and spoke customer service on the phone, I was not able to convince them to terminate my contract without waiving the early exit fee despite the fact they have not upheld their side of the bargain.

I was assured coverage would improve in the next three months and was given three months credit on my account (which i was thankful for) and also a network enhancer was to be sent to home within 5-7 days. FOUR WEEKS later and I still have not recieved this network enhancer, even after another trip to the store and a further lengthy telephone call.

This is just part of what I have been through with vodafone and needless to say when I am either released from my contract or finish paying it off I will never go with vodafone again and will ensure that I do my best to ensure everyone knows just how much trouble they have caused and how much money i have wasted on a second rate service.
2 Apr 2011 04:51:55 PM: You shouldn't have to put up with a lack of service while Vodafone keep charging you every month. Fill out a complaint to the TIO (linked to from the how to complain page). They will make sure Vodafone can resolve the problem or let you out of your contract without paying.

16615 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Problem call closed without resolving the issue at 2 Apr 2011 10:47:09 AM
I reported 5 delayed missed-call notifications to Three Customer Support. Three decided to close the problem report without informing me, which I discovered today, when reporting another delayed missed-call notification, the 6th in 2 weeks. I was then informed that the networking team do not work on weekends therefore the soonest today's problem will be investigated will be Monday. If the problem was urgent, forget expecting Three to investigate any problems over the weekend.
Its about time this lack of support is publicized on current affairs programs on TV and radio.

At work in the middle of our national capital city and I have one bar of 2G reception. Where I am staying in Canberra, I am lucky to have any reception...all of 12kms from the centre of Canberra.

Back at home in Melbourne our (wife and son) other 2 Vodafone handsets have awful reception...10kms out of the city and the calls drop out regularly (all within direct line of sight of a massive tower).

It is rare for a call to not drop out...I haven't mentioned 3G data/internet access - what's the point? It has been so long since I can recall it being useful that I had almost forgotten how useful it can be. 3 x Iphone handsets (3G, 3GS and 4) all rendered useless, courtesy of Vodafone's 2nd rate underwhelming network.

Received the message from the Vodafone Australia CEO...very polite, very positive - talk is cheap and what you are delivering is not acceptable.

I will be cancelling the Vodafone contract for our 3 services...this problem has been going on for at least 12 months and there is no end in sight

2 months ago, got a bill that included $800 excess data, Im on a 2gb plan. Endless calls to the Indian call centre. Getting the story that "If I didnt use the excess data then someone else must have" Said to them I will go to the telecommunications ombudsman, They said can you hold for a minute, comes back to phone and says I can have a full credit. Just today, exactly the same thing only with international calls. 1 threat to call the ombudsman, then they agree to credit. They are a fraud and only trying people on. Stuck with them for 18 more months.
1 Apr 2011 03:38:01 PM: Just complain about your reception and your consistent over charges on bills im sure there is something you can do about this to get out of the contract.

16554 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Its the 'Charlie Sheen Winning' of all fails. at 1 Apr 2011 10:37:41 AM
(1) Cant seem to connect for about 70% of the time I try to call. There's no ring tone, I hear an awkward silence and then an abrubt disconnection. I was for a couple of months, immediately trying to redial and call again until I noticed in my bill that I was being charged a connection fee and an average 6 seconds of talk time (cleverly billed in 30 second blocks) for each of these failed connections. Thats around 60c per vodafail. I could tell it was for the failed connections as I found repeated instances in my bill where I had dialled the same number 4 or 5 times in a 20 second period each call for around 6 seconds. When I spoke to the guy in the Vodafone shop he told me that I shouldnt worry as even with these incurred costs I was no where near my cap. The fact that the reason I was no where near my cap was because I could never actually connect to anyone I was trying to call seemed lost on him.
(2) Cant get SMS's out. I keep getting a fail message and asking me to re-send. I also dont get new text messages unless someone calls me or miraculously I manage to get through to someone (this seems to wake up the network in regards to my phone).
(3) In the middle of Canberra's CBD I cant get bars....repeatedly.
(4) In remedying this Vodafone both in the stores and on the phone ask me to do really techincal things like .....wipe my sim card, or blow on it. Have had the sim replaced and still no joy.

Am now thinking of contacting the ombudsman.

Any thoughts?

have been with vodafone since 2000. didn't have many issues until mid 2010 (which coincidentally seems to be when they took the reigns from 3). i get voicemail alerts from calls that i didn't receive the day before, delayed messages. was at the multicultural festival in the city and had no reception anywhere apart from a small area behind the canberra centre. internet coverage is extremely slow.

a few weeks back i got a letter from them appologising for the awful standard of service and how the problem had now been fixed. a few days later i get the same problems with long delays in receiving messages.

add to this trying to cancel my mobile broadband with three (now owned by vodafone) after stating that the service was slower than dial up during peak times the gimp on the other end of the line kept trying to give me special offers like creditting my account with $5 each month for three months like that would help. after 15 mins on the phone he finally said he would cancel it. after i got what was meant to be my final bill i kept getting monthly bills for a few months and had to keep calling them to get the account cancelled. it wasn't until i called, gave them my account number and said "i don't care what you do as long as you put a note on that file saying i had complained to the ombusman's office". screw you vodafone and three, and the crap service you provide. my current contract is almost up and i will be going to another provider when that happens.

So the network is still down totally out here, at least they have come clean and added to the network fail site http://vodafone.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail_network/a_id/3730 the 3rd one in QLD.

My daughter managed to miss the bus this afternoon from school, she's 15 and couldn't fight her way out of a wet paper bag, but she wasn't able to contact any of us thanks to the network being down, so had to walk 2 klms home, flashes of Daniel Morcombe went through my head. So I just called Vodafail and said that's it, last straw, if I wake up in the morning and the network is still down I want to cancel the contract at no cost which they agreed to.

So they have 15 hours to get it going or I'm out, I'm not having my kids put in bad situations.

BTW, they were adamant that I couldn't speak to anyone in Vodafone Australia which I find incredible.
23 Mar 2011 05:12:02 PM: Sorry, forgot to change the state from ACT to QLD
23 Mar 2011 05:23:01 PM: Would also like to add, I have been with Vodafone since 1991, ie 20 years. I always liked their service until a few years ago when all the dropouts ans missed calls started happening. I suspect it was the advent of 3G when the rot set in, it was a poorly rolled out network. I will say the gent from the cancellations team was very well spoken, sympathetic and apologetic. Kudos to him, pity his employers couldn't help him.... If Vodafone Australia are reading this and want to contact me the cancellation account number is 213260618.

I coughed up $199 for the Vodafone Prepaid Nokia E71 only to find that I cannot access Facebook for free. I thought social networking sites were SUPPOSE to be free? but no vodafones gotta make sure they get their cut of the pie. The only way to access FB is there the VFinternet which means is u have to have credit or thru my own wifi which is a fat lot of use if im 100 miles away from it. I have been thru the Ovi Nokia store for an app but that looks like its ready to shut down cause that was bone dry. I've only had this fone for 2 days and when I took it back to the store and explained I wasn't happy with it they fart arsed around with the settings which don't work and then refused to replace the fone for a similar model BECAUSE they don't have the 14 day "right of return, change ur mind policy" ACTUALLY l don't think they have any policies!...The only solutions are:
1.DO NOT buy the VODAFONE NOKIA E71 and/or
2. Unlock the handset and move Elsewhere...VODAFONE YOUR FRIKN USELESS

Forget delayed sms messages, my messages dont even come to me sometimes!

We were enjoying a week in Qld last week, my lovely cousin had lent me her car for ease, and had said she didn't have any issues driving me from Brisbane to the GC where we were flying back home from. Unfortunately I'm with Vodafone so nothing worked out how it shouldve. I NEVER got the message from my cousin saying I needed to be at hers by 10 for her to give me a lift to the GC airport. I never got this message. I know it was sent correctly because I could view on her Iphone it had been sent to me, and she is with an actual provider Telstra who actually provide the service they charge for.

It ended up costing us over $80 in travel fees to get to the airport, and 4 hours! This is one of a NUMBER of examples of vodafone failing to get calls and message to and from me. I have since called and requested I be able to cancel the service without fee because they are not providing the service I am paying for. After passing me around a few departments they promised someone from cancellations would call me the very next day. This has still not happened and it is over 48 hours since my conversation with them. I am sick and tired of them taking money without providing a proper service. I cant beleive I'm still stuck with them and they wont even bother calling me back. I have spread the word to everyone I know to not join vodafone and will continue to find avenues like this website until I am allowed to leave my contract without further charge.

Thanks.
15 Mar 2011 06:44:15 PM: Well I just sent a very damaging letter to the CEO of vodaphone and threatened legal action....I also included one thing they thing everyone has forgotten...when a number of complaints are present...over 16,000 on this site...which are legal complaints....it brings about the right for anyone to question whether or not Vodaphone should retain their Communications Licence....I exercised this right....in a word the licence can when suspended be picked up for $1.00.....so we will see what he does....

Firstly, I tried to question whether I should be on the maximum monthly charge which I was put on by a Vodafone sales person. This is ABOVE my contract. To get out I'm told I have to pay $518.
Secondly, when I asked for help someone at V said they would call me back and NEVER DID.
Thirdly, coverage is poor and built on lies. I am on the Hume Highway regularly (HIGHWAY ONE Vodafone people) and there is no coverage.
I've been a loyal customer, have spent at least $10,000 with the company.
And the treatment is reprehensible.

15773 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is next to useless at 21 Feb 2011 09:41:24 AM
1. last year my husband was in UK for a couple of weeks. THREE DAYS after he got home, I finally received a text message he had sent from Heathrow. As it turned out he made it home (roughly!) on time, but if this had been a message to say his flight was cancelled or whatever, then not receiving it would have been a serious problem.

2. I am a senior doctor in a major public hospital and when I am on call (usually 24/7 for 2 weeks at a stretch) I have to be available at any time, for emergencies. Given how often I look at my phone and see "no service", this is a significant risk to patients.

3. My husband and I both have vodafail accounts and until a few months ago I would send one cheque to cover both payments each month. Recently and without any warning or notification, their finance dept became incapable of dealing with this complex and intellectually challenging task of crediting two bills from one payment. So without any communication they simply paid the full amount onto my account, which therefore ended up in credit, and sent my husband a rude message to say they would suspend his account if he didn't pay up. When after dealing with several people at some call centre somewhere offshore I finally managed to speak to someone who could understand what my problem was, she was unable to do anything about it, couldn't transfer my credit balance to my husband's account, couldn't send me a new statement showing that mine was in credit (because they can only send one bill a month!), etc etc. She did however offer to credit $25 to my husband's account to compensate for the inconvenience - but having just now received our next lot of bills, that hasn't happened.
For one thing it is PATHETIC that they can't deal with this anyway, and for another thing, if it HAS to change after EIGHT YEARS, why the hell didn't they notify us before actually changing it?

4. and now to add insult to injury, I just got an SMS message telling me I have to pay $133 - which is in fact the amount my account is in CREDIT due to their previous cockup!!

We are asking around for "word-of-mouth" as to who to change to - assuming we can get out of our contracts with Vodafail - but it certainly won't be Telstra, as we're looking to find an alternative to THEM for our landline and internet!

21 Feb 2011 08:39:40 AM: I went with Telstra as I am in a rural area. Now have up to 3 bars of 3G at home and an actual signal at work.
Just holding my breath now to see what happens with final bills etc.
Thanks again for the site.

call dopped off, no network, no reception. I do not know why Vodafone is still existing in the market, given its poor services and netwroking

mess is an understatement. Lost my phone number, use for business, given temporary numbers that don't work. bought credit that is not there. can't get any satisfaction from the shabby customer service - i seem to be calling them daily - have switched to new phone company but want my old number and credit with vodafone for business

I am surprised that this website is not heavily documenting the current problem, which has been going on for days now. Customers on prepaid, are unable to recharge. So if you're out of credit, tough luck. I went to the vodafone store in Broadway, Sydney, to find out what was going on, and the guy that 'assisted' me, acted like it was totally inconvenient of me to be asking what was going on. I have been with Vodafone for over 7 years, and during the last few months, have seen them deteriorate to such a state that they can no longer function. Why is this? Outsourcing of jobs to cheaper and less qualified employers, most of whom seem to be based in Bombay these days.
Incredibly pissed off. Telstra, here I come.

Is there anything else we can add at this stage?

Like everyone else had calls dropping out, no reception at times, text messages coming hours later, no data access in the middle of the CBD. Rang up to complain, waited 40 mins for the call back and within 10 seconds he goes technical issues transferring you now, was still on hold 20 mins later, got the sh*ts and hung up. Ported to Telstra and now i find i have a $700 early cancellation fee. Called them up and he goes you should have stayed on the line and called again, even if i had to wait forever.
Vodafone are an utterly useless service provider providing no services at all and then stinging people who go elsewhere to get some basic service.
17 Feb 2011 03:20:53 PM: Have you been to the TIO regarding this matter??

Would suggest you do ASAP.

15688 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is epic fail at 17 Feb 2011 01:24:23 PM
After being with Voda since 1999, and in all that time only had 2 issues.

Now, since resigning with them in November, I've already called them twice, both with billing issues - one for charging me a month in advance, which wasn't in the contract, or advised by the shop staff who were too busy trying to find music they wanted to listen to in the store ... The other for not emailing the bill to me, and then wanting to charge me $5 to click a button to reissue it - i then received the bill once a day for the next 3 days, lets see if they charge me for it ...

Add to that calls dropping out, slow if any data flow i'm starting to think a piece of string tied to a can would work better ...

15680 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Bad at 17 Feb 2011 11:05:00 AM
Well... even worst between 2 Vodaphone mobiles indeed.
We thought we could enjoy free calls because of the same operator but instead we have failed calls, bad or no service period, delayed missed calls, and delayed voicemails...

15671 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is hopeless at 17 Feb 2011 09:32:11 AM
For the third day in a row I don't have a functioning mobile service in the middle of Canberra's CBD. Can't call. Can't receive a call. Can't connect to the Internet. There is full 3G reception but no network capacity.I have called Vodafone more times than I can remember but it's not getting any better. They waived last month's bill for me and they have said they'll charge me only 50% for the next three months but even that is poor value when you genuinely can't make a call. How long can this go on? I think we all need to warn as many people as possible not to get roped into a 24 month contract from Hell. Now, if only I could connect to Facebook to warn them ...

It hasn't worked for days now, cant get it through my phone either, so therefore my consume app can't retrieve the info either.. I tweeted help but they didn't reply.. So I rang.. complained and got a $15 credit. Also had to complain in December re over the top data charges in UK.. 4 minutes cost $111.00.. then another time cost only $30. work that out.. Got some back, but not all.. This company has massive problems.
