Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

4945 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Worst Recpetion Ever at 27 Dec 2010 07:44:27 PM
I have 6 months left on my plan I will be signing with a new service provider for sure. In recent times I have had dropped out calls, no reception in places I have had reception before. My biggest complaint is if you do not hold up to your end of the contract you are still expected to pay however it is fine for vodafone to contiuosly provide poor service and get away with it........

4941 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is terrible at 27 Dec 2010 07:44:00 PM
I recently wanted to upgrade my contract to get a new phone only to discover that I could not upgrade it in store - only by calling customer service. I called on a Monday and was on hold for 1.5 hours with no success. At one point they had called me back only to put me onto someone who could not do/handle what I needed and then put me on hold again. I had to work and so called after work on the same day only to be put on hold again.

I then tried again the next day, put on hold once again and finally got through, again to be put through to the wrong person, being put on hold AGAIN.

Internet access is constantly limited and inconsistent.

Not a happy customer!

2 months after signing up to my new 24 month plan I had to start using my old old nokia (thank god I still had it) and had to buy a pre paid sim card on another network because Vodafone wasn't working. I was so upset that the call centre is now in India because their customer service is shocking and they are unable to relate to the Ausralian consumer. Vodafone to date (for the past 4 months) have not been able to provide me with an answer as to why my phone wont work and I am unable to take it in to get 'repaired' as the Indian operator in India told me I had to take it to a Vodafone store on a week day - yeah thats great considering I work from 10am - 7pm and there is no Vodafone store near me... I asked if Vodafone could organise a curior but I was told that I would be responsibile for the costs of that... not fair! considering I am paying all this money for nothing!!! I am so upset - I have been with Vodafone since 2003 and this is the first time I have had any issues...whats going on?? Should I not pay my next phone bill... I'm still paying the plan even though I cant use my fancy new phone or my sim?

4925 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Isn't the question, how is Vodafone NOT failing? at 27 Dec 2010 07:40:08 PM
I've been a very long term customer of Vodafone, switching from Telstra's rip off and very poor service of over a decade ago. I had never had trouble with VF until about 2 years ago and then increasingly so. I got so sick of ringing to complain only to have tours of the world - via Egypt, India and the Phillipines and any time I was put through to someone overseas who can barely speak English, who followed a script and couldn't understand English enough to answer questions, I would ask to put to someone in Australia. You won't get any satisfaction out of ringing customer service. I had to make 2 complaints to the TIO and got some satisfaction, only to then have the same problem develop not so long after, as VF assured me, 'it had been sorted out'. I started to call the head office number in Sydney direct. They will get the message quick enough if every disgruntled person started to call head office, on a real land line, in Australia! Check the phone book - the old hard copy ones (since you probably can't get wireless net coverage to check online anyway). Don't call on the 1 300 numbers they give customers for 'customer service' as you will get the biggest run around. Also, ask for a name and employee identifier number and where they located if you speak to someone and ask them to read back the notes of your call which they enter into their computers and keep your own notes. Problems include call drop outs, sms and voice messages not delivered for days, if at all, both receiving and sending, and yet other times, sms going back and forth without a hitch, poor coverage or no coverage for extended periods where there is supposed to be coverage, calls not connecting so ringing 2 or 3 or 4 times to make a call, static on lines, only hearing every few words, improper and incorrect billing, etc all of the things of which every one complains. I just love ringing directory assistance when I can't recall a number I need, only to be told that the company or business doesn't exist as VF can't find any listing when you know it's there. That's a joke!

4922 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Disappointed Service at 27 Dec 2010 07:39:37 PM
Having a wireless use Modem Connection since may 2010. Cant express my heart broken disappointment of coverage/service, customer service.

Since May 2010, exprecing no network connectivity, dropping/disconnecting connection automatically. had spoken many time with customer service, no desired result and improvment of connection connectivity.

I m regretting to have this vodafone connection and will never ever recommend to any of my relatives/friends etc.

As i cought with 12 monhs lockup plan. and wishes i can switch the connection with other vendors.
However sales person sells the connection and service with confirdance of high standard coverage/connectivity in Perth city. but it is worst than subarb areas.

Just living in city of Perth has 1 bar connectivity and even drops in a minute. DISAPPOINTED.

Got 6 GB plan for my use and hardly able to use even 15% of it in a months becuase of connectivity.

I will be happy to returns this ervices with immidiate effect...

recently looking on bill wrongly posted of $1400 ??? into my account where as i have only $39 (6GB) plan. how bad are no reliability..

VODAFONE you lost me and more other people trust...

My brother fell very ill over the lead up to christmas day so i had been on the phone to my family constantly for updates on his recovery.. in ponit form below..

1) If had been on my mobile for over 15 minutes- it would drop outs- so i would call somone back and it would just have no dial tone for about 20 seconds before it dials..

2) No reception outside my house!! and its on the main street.. where i had ALWAYS had reception in the past.. where as now.. no a F'n Chance!! I have to walk 100 meters down the road to make a call or even recieve a call or SMS!!

3) While on the phone to vodafone customer service- To just ASK if there was anyway i could improve on this.. even to just get a new phone.. I was put on hold for almost 2 hours before somone picked up and then hung up!

4) To complain about above i was put on hold for 30 mins.. i so hung up and called again and demanded to speak to manage.. was put on hold for a futher 25 mibnutes before i hung up again..

5) Wrote an email (From the voda website) to complain about above i STILL havnt had a reply.. I thought i would try my luck again today over the phone and was AGAIN!! put on hold for a another 20 minutes. .

6) As i have only JUST signed up for a "infinate" Plan.. i cannot get out of it.. i dont see vodafone getting back to me.. so i have no choice but to stay .. I could just not pay my bill.. At least i would get some attention.. But then ill end up with a bad credit default.. no win!!

7) My sms's, PXT's- came 2-3 hours late!! one day i did not recieve TXTS for 2 days!!!!! 2 WHOLE days!!!

I have been with vodafone for 9 years!!! and have never experienced HELL in my life..!! after my contract i am NEVER comming back.. such a F'n disgrace!!

4913 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Extremely at 27 Dec 2010 07:38:10 PM
Over the last month the service has been extremely poor. There are constant drop-outs, other times you simply can't get through if you are trying to call someone, it simply goes straight to their message bank. My partner lives interstate and we use the phone constanly as a means of communication. We'll at present there is no communication due to Vodaphones poor service at the moment. Also I have got my two (2) daughters and mother on plans/prepaid so at the moment it is not financially viable for me to swap to another carrier.

Extremely unhappy customer

I thought Optus sucked hard, but Vodafone truly can suck golfballs from a hose. I signed up in Oct and i have had problems with everything from reception to billing. Customer Service with most Telcos is crap, but vodafone have added extra fibre to their diets....flows real easy. I use my phone for work and it has been frustrating not to have coverage to make calls and lose jobs due to late message arrivals. i guess my VODAFONE communication device makes for a pretty good camera and music player because it sure as hell lacks communication skills! Best see the TIO in regards to dropping Voda contract for something more technologically advanced like two cans and a piece of string....SEE YA VODAFAIL!!!

Ohhh yes this is a doozy! Although I have experienced drop outs and terrible coverage with my mobile my partner and i stupidly decided to take the risk and sign up with their mobile broadband BIG MISTAKE! We live very close to Sydney's CBD so there is no excuse for this not to work right? WRONG! To make matters worse I spent numerous attempts calling to be left on the phone for 40 - 60 mins before the line dropped out and then got the run around by apparent customer service reps. I finally made a trip into the store only to be told that they couldnt help and had to again speak to someone on the phone for an hour and even had to fax a copy of our contract (which after numerous arguements about making us pay, which of course i wasnt because it wasnt even working!) they finally told me it was all sorted once I posted the contents back (I dont know why I couldnt leave it at the store where I picked it up from???). My next 3 bills STILL arrived with the contract charges on there! what a joke! VODAFONE is a terrible unprofessional company and im so glad to hear that someone is finally doing something about it!

Vodafone allowed another company (have no idea who) to put $40 worth of calls on my mobile phone without my permission or knowledge. When I complained, I was told tough luck, I still had to pay. I wrote to them to advise that I wouldn't pay this bill, but they still keep billing me every month ($39.01). This has been going on for about a year now. They have no customer service.

It took me 2 hrs finally spoke to an operator that can help & call drop off. I call again & after almost 6 hrs in total that it was found that vodafone issued the phone no to the broadband sim& broadband no to my phone sim! Also in the past 3 weeks there were 3 times that they lost signal totally. It happened today 27 dec 10 around 11ish, there is no service at all! Vodafone is not reliable at all.

I must be one of the lucky ones but I have had very few problems with Vodafone. The customer service is of course shocking and always has been, both instore and over the phone, and sometimes I have no 3G in a 3G Metro coverage area, but apart from that, I haven't had any dropouts or major problems. If I ever really need to gain assistance over the phone I tend to tell 'Lara' the IVR that I have lost my phone and I seem to get through to a customer rep, pretty quick. Seems to work everytime. I feel for everyone that has had lots of trouble and can only hope that due to all of the complaints, that hopefully Vodafone will fix all of the problems and do a network upgrade a.s.a.p or seriously risk losing all of their customers to other Telcos.

4837 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is No reception & poor service at 27 Dec 2010 07:23:15 PM
I have been with vodafone for a few years and was ok until the last couple of months where I started to get call drop outs and an inability to access my data. Trying to contact vodafone for a resolution is just ridiculous, after trying to call and being told there was a wait time of an hour I used their email complaints facility and though they say that you must respond within 120 or they close the job apparently they have no such time restraint, and when finally I had a response I was told to give 3 calls that dropout within the last 72 hours I said I couldn't since I had started to use my work phone (optus) as it was more reliable. I have contacted the TIO and am still waiting for a resolution. Don't call them for advice either, you'll be transferred between departments all of which want to blame your phone, and tell you that the reception in your area should be ok - well its not, hence the reason for my call!!! Still cannot believe that they pride themselves on their service, I would hate to see how they viewed bad service.

Like everyone else my complaints are the perfunctory, condescending & unhelpful customer service [when you can actually get through to a real human being] & the extremely poor network reception & drops outs in a major population area of Western Sydney. They are clearly not fulfilling their side of the SFOA [Standard Form of Agreement] - i.e the contract. If I had known how bad they are I would never have signed up - be warned all those who are considering them. They are terrible! Even the staff in the retail stores are not very helpful.

I am a happy 3 customer after being a very unhappy vodafone customer for too many years, so I am now dreading the 3, vodafone merge. Messages not delivered, unbelievable waiting times for what they call "customer service" and actually speaking to a real person, pfft! In the end, after my son was told the recharge he was trying to use, had already been used, i ended up also switching him to another provider, $29 down the drain. This site is a godsend, I've vented to so many people its not funny! I would like to see them go down, and 3! what are you thinking with this merge??

The service is appalling. Drives my friends and family crazy that my phone is unavailable or keeps dropping out, important texts arent sent and I receive important voicemails days late. Complaints to the customer service keep you on the phone for hours, (as if you dont have a life and can afford that time wastage.) And once you finally get to speak to a real person you rae put through this series of questions as though you are technologically illiterate.

As for the labyrinth of automated voice menus before you can speak to a person.....for goodness sake.

I had an I phone with Vodafone for a year in melbourne, I actually had no network issues, and the phone worked okay in Ballarat.

However, the customer service was a nightmare! I left vodafone to upgrade to the 3GS earlier this year and switched to OPTUS. I asked for a final account and waited. And waited. And got one after three months showing that vodafone owed me about $40. So I sent an e-mail to the big V that took a week to be answered, saying that the e-mail team can't do a refund! So I tried the phone team, spent a while on hold and finally got through. After a 15 minute argument I was told that it would take 6 weeks to send me a cheque for the money, no interest would be applied and if I didn't like it someone would contact me. I asked the guy to get anyone to call me back to explain the 6 week delay for a cheque, noone ever has. Small fry I know but bloody annoying!

Poor reception on mobile phone there have been times where i havent been able to reach my partner cause of poor reception issues. We pay alot of money for this service and everytime you call vodafone the lines are static, the customer service officers are rude and you can barley understand them. My wireless broadband keeps dropping out and webpages keep faling over. Also my Blackberry internet connection works only intermittently.

I finally caled the Vodafone help line and was placed in a hold queue for more than and hour and a half. And then the operator couldn't answer the questions and put the phone down on me.

BUT IT IS JUST WHAT CAN BE EXPECTED FROM VODAFONE AND THE OTHER TELCOs. The should all be fined for poor service and driven out of business.

I am in bayswater and have been struggling with phone reception and mobile broadband reception for 18 months. I cannot make calls inside the house and have to walk outside so they don't drop out. Vodafone customer service blame it on the type of roof I have. What a cop out! One weekend my husband and I had absolutely no reception and missed an important call regarding the construction of our house. Vodafone just said there were no outages in my area and offered no explanation. I am out of contract and will be moving this week.

4735 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is poor service and coverage at 27 Dec 2010 07:03:54 PM
I have recently signed up to Vodafone (regretfully). I was informed that they have great coverage by a reprsentative of the provider. My phone is used for a combination of work and personal circumstances. I called Vodafone shortly after signing up as I was having continuing issues with the phone dropping out and needing to make multiple calls to have 1 conversation. I called them on 9.11.10 to voice my concerns and was placed on a customer service line for 1 hour before I decided to hang up and send them an email. I then had to endure a pop up reminding me of their remarkable coverage prior to finally sending the email reminding them that I had concerns that the statements made regarding their 92% coverage in their pop up did not seem correct to me. I received an email apparently identfying the status of this issue as "solved" and providing me with a number to call. I persevered with the issue and called again (hold it - that is 4 call attemts in one sitting - 1 dropping out whilst on the line to them) to the customer service line to again voice my concerns. I have been told to try someone elses phone or change sims to make sure it is not a phone problem as apparently my issue is not a service orientated one. They made no attempts to assist me in addressing this. I informed them I have been with 3 other providers and have never had this issue. Whilst they were informing me it was not likely to be a service issue as it did not happen consistently, I informed them that this happened regularly (as I travel a lot) and there are definite spots where it drops out suggesting it may be a coverage issue. I also informed them that I use my phone for work and require it as a security measure as I am often in my client's home assessing them for medicolegal cases and as such need a reliable phone in the instance that I may encounter aggression and need to call for assistance. I advised of my concerns that I can not rely on my phone for this. It is embarrassing when I am speaking with key stakeholders and clients that my phone drops out. The service I have been provided with is less than satisfactory. I advised them during my last conversation to not even bother sending me the bill and they may wish to check how many calls I make during 1 transaction. I have received my bill and assume that they have not checked my bill. They also told me ther were no service issues with my area - I advised them I bought the phone in the local area and was advised of the exemplary coverage. I advised them that this considered that should the issue be demonstrated to be coverage I would not be happy. I cant beleive I am locked in for 2 years - I am worried about what it will do with my business and what should happen if I need to alert someone of a safety issue for me or a client. The service is a joke. If it were a shop, I wouldn't have gone back after the first time. Their statements of service do not equate to what they can provide. Thank you for this page, goodness knows it was needed

Thanks for letting me the oppurtunities to express my frustations regarding phone standard, customer service and other services of VF. I'm on $ 79 caps for one and half years. I started with BlackBerry Bold 9500 and the phone cap was just a crap. The worst so called touch/smart phone I have ever had! After using few weeks, I could understand I'm just wasting my money. Touch screen was unsensitive, internet browsing was sooo sloooow, media player and camera photo quality were just far below the standard. I bought it from Crazy Johns. The customer service of VF couldn't help me at all. After few months, I couldn't tried to change the phone, and customer service guy replied (after more than half an hour waiting time!) me it would cost me ...$ (the total price of a new phone!) Well, after few more months sufferings, I fortunately lost my phone. Lucky, I had my mobile insurance, I got a iphone 3 with the excess fees of 225 bucks! But call dropping, networks, internet browsing didn't improve that much. So I could realize, the problems are not in phones only, but networks and customer service also. Anyway, it's quite unnecessary to pay for mobile insurance. So I had to cancel the insurance. Recently, I paid all the money including excess fees, but the system said after a week, still it owes me money! I called customer service to know what's going on, otherwise they gonna charge me extra money for late fees! Literary, after 47 minutes of waiting period, I could talk to the customer service guy for few minutes. The worst customer service I have ever had. How much time do you have guys to talk to a customer service in Australia? Simply, I can't afford that time! Call drop out, poor networks, slow browsing and few more things are part and parcel of my phone caps. I'm just waiting to finish my cap period so that I can roll over. Thanks guys for your patience to read my pains.

4719 Someone from TAS thinks vodafone is at 27 Dec 2010 07:00:55 PM
Well, I started the contract with Vodafone when I was still living in Sydney, in January of 2009. I had heard from a family member that the (at that time) new Blackberry Storm phone was the best of the best, so I decided to look into getting one. I went to an outlet at the Bankstown Centro shopping facility, and I got one of the Storm phones, and at the same time opened an account with Vodafone. At the time of my receiving the phone, I asked the individual who was working at the outlet if I would be able to receive signals in all States and Territories of Australia, and he said yes. I asked him if he was positive, and he replied with another enthusiastic "Yes". So, I got the phone, and went on my way. I experienced my first dropped call later that afternoon. One of the main reasons for changing mobile services in the first place was because of dropped calls and low signal reception in various places immediately outside of the Sydney area, from the previous mobile service provider.

I had had the phone for less than one month when I had my first serious problem with it. Because it was under a 30-day replacement warranty, I took it to the outlet where I got it, told the people there that the phone wasn't working, and they told me that they didn't have any more of the particular model in the store at that time. I wasn't in a position to do anything more about it at that time, because I was getting ready to go overseas that next day. I left for my overseas destination the next day, and returned about 30 days later. I immediately returned to the outlet where I had gotten the phone, and was told that they had more of that particular model in the store then, but that the 30-day replacement warranty had expired. So, I asked them what my options were. They said that I could give them the phone, and they would send it out to their repair facility. I did this, and about two weeks later they contacted me and said that the phone was ready to be picked up. I immediately went to the outlet, and they told me that the unit had been replaced with a new one. I had high hopes. Well, this second phone almost immediately dropped calls and had very poor signal reception in numerous parts of the Sydney area, as well as other places in Australia where I took it. Also, it was about three months until this second phone developed a problem that rendered it unusable. I took it to the outlet, where it was the same as before: they said leave it here, we'll send it out, and you should have it back in about two weeks. Well, about three weeks later, I got a phone call from the outlet telling me that the phone was back. Again, I immediately went to the outlet to get the phone. I picked it up, and hadn't even gotten out of the shopping center when the phone dropped its first call. I turned around and walked back to the shop, told them about the problem, and they asked me if the battery was fully charged. I told them it was. They told me that because of the large amount of metal within the shopping center, that the signal strength was usually not very good there, and to take the phone outside the mall and try it again. I did, and the signal strength was better outside the mall. Well, shortly after all this, I moved to Tasmania. I came to Devonport on the Spirit of Tasmania ferry, and as soon as I arrived in Devonport I tried to use the phone, and I discovered almost no signal strength. I drove around Devonport trying to find a location where I had a better signal, but could find none. I then drove to Burnie, again with no better signal strength. I now refer back to the first part of this writing, where I had been told by the people who initially sold me this phone that it would work equally well in ANY State or Territory of Australia. Needless to say, it hardly worked at all in Tasmania. The only exception to this is that it appeared to work OK in Launceston, which is one of the larger towns in Tasmania.

I took the phone to China, Malaysia, and New Zealand with me on business trips, and it did operate satisfactorily in all three of these countries, as long as I was in large cities in those countries. It appeared that in rural areas, there was almost no signal strength, and this appeared to be the case in all three of the countries mentioned above.

The last thing I have to comment on is that every time I have tried to make a credit card payment on the phone account, the credit card is not accepted by the Vodafone credit card payment system.

I am absolutely NOT happy at all with either the service, the equipment, or the customer service from Vodafone. All in all, a very large disappointment.

I have experienced similar issues with my calls to the Customer Service Centre continually dropping out for no apparent reason and for my phone calls to just not go through at all, but I don't seem to have any choice but to call them as I am being told by Vodafone Customer Service Centre employees that as I have a billing issue I can ONLY call up and cannot deal with the issue face to face. Basically, the story is that I have not received any correct bills from Vodafone since January 2010 as a billing error occured which stated my bills were due in 2026. After many frustrating phone calls of always being PROMISED that I would receive a phone call back in a few hours or a couple of days I have now received harrasing phone calls and letters from a debt collection agency asking for immediate payment of over $2,000. At this point I don't know what to do as I am only 21 and have just completed university and am only just starting a new apprenticeship. I will be in contact with the ombudsman to try and have the issue resolved but all I can realy do is hope for the best. Thanks for ruining my life Vodafone!!!!!!

4694 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Pathetic at 27 Dec 2010 06:54:50 PM
My contract ran out 12 or so months ago & I was contacted by Vodafail to renew, enticed by the iPhone. I was told that a $69 cap should cover my needs & at first it did. Then suddenly after a couple of months with the same usage my bill sky rocketed unexplainably. I enquired & was given a spiel but my query was never really answered. In fact every time I rang I was put on hold for great lengths of time & then told the same spiel. Soon after my coverage was affected for no apparent reason & even though the bill was being addressed, the service was restricted to incoming calls & then cut off completely. Then I was charged $800 for the cancellation of the service. It took Vodafail 2-3weeks to send me an itemised bill justifying their actions after asking on several occasions for this. I was then contacted by a debt collection agency about the matter. After paying the debt collection agency and them confirming the payment, I contacted Vodafail 3 weeks later to ensure that they had in turn received the payment. First I was put on hold for over 45 mins without having spoken to an actual person & transferred to 4 different irrelevant departments. I hung up as I was at work & my charge was about to run out. Two hours later I tried again & was on hold for a further 25 mins. Eventually I spoke to a man of Indian origin who was extremely rude & who hung up on me without even beginning to answer my query. I then went to a Vodafail store to speak to someone face to face & to possibly get my old number back. I was told it would take too long & would be easier if I switched servers to Optus & in MY time I could possibly get the number back after 2 hours online. My payment was never confirmed & I was sent on my way. The coverage & customer service leaves alot to be desired.

So I called Vodafone the other day to upgrade my plan, and after being on hold for 25 minutes they put me through to ... wait for it ... ANOTHER VODAFONE CUSTOMER ... yes that's right, someone who doesn't even work for Vodafone!! As if that isn't bad enough, I then hung up and called back again, only to be hung up on ... twice! After spending most of the day trying to get through with no luck I eventually went into a store the next day, who, actually were very helpful. They upgraded my plan and advised me someone would call me about ordering my new handset. They called alright ... 3 hrs later, and advised I couldn't get the phone I wanted because I had to be a customer for at least 3 months ... I HAVE BEEN A CUSTOMER FOR 8 YEARS VODAFONE YOU MORONS!!! I explained the only reason I changed my plan was so I could get the phone and advised I would be taking the matter further as I couldn't believe they could treat their loyal customers with such utter disrespect ... it was then they MAGICALLY found a way around the problem and ordered my new handset. Amazing!! This is aside from all of the connection issues I have with my phone and my home internet (it drops out at about 9 - 10pm every single night ... what the??)! Over it Vodafone! Your customer service is disgusting and the connection issues are a joke!!

Where do I begin??! Ok, been with Vodafone since July 2009 and I was on contract with an Iphone (older gen ones) for 24 months. Received really bad reception and finally decided to call Vodafone customer service (Oct 2010) to complain. Got told (by a very friendly lady I must say) that it was not Vodafone's services but the Iphone just has bad reception. Thing is, when I go to my mother's house the reception is fantastic, but as soon as I'm in my bedroom at home, I'll be lucky if I get one bar. But my partner who is with 3 gets perfect reception every time. Anyway I was basically told to change handsets, which would mean I would have to pay off the rest of my contract, which was about another $450 at the time. I said I wanted to change over to 3 to be on the same network as my partner because I wasn't happy with Vodafone's services, but was assured it was the Iphone causing the poor reception and I was convinced that Vodafone and 3 were to merge "very soon" and all would be the same soon anyway. I was told to consider the HTC phones as they were "top of the range" in smart phones and I would get the reception and services I needed. I hung up and considered my options. Went into a local Vodafone/3 store and told the sales person I wanted to cancel my contract with Vodafone and sign up with a new handset with 3. Again I got told by a young lady that I shouldn't bother because things are merging and 3 and Vodafone will all the the same "very soon", and it's more likely that my Iphone is causing the reception problems. So naively I believed the sales girl and canceled my contract and signed up to get another phone for another 24 months.. BIG MISTAKE! I got the HTC Legend and it is much worse than my Iphone!! I receive SMS's, calls and when I try to call Vodafone to complain and have to wait 30-45 mins to talk to someone, I get hung up on whilst waiting!! I have a newborn baby and don't have time to be sitting around waiting to talk to someone, nor do I have the time to go into a store and wait over an hour to talk to a sales person either! So basically I am stuck with a sh*t phone with no service and another 24 month contract at 49$ a month (not to mention the amount I have paid to Vodafone to cancel my previous contract with them!) I am at my wits end! I have also called recently to complain that I wasn't receiving any data services, fixed that problem but I am still not receiving reception. I am fed up. Really considering to not pay my next bill!

I have vodafone INTERNET. 1st month bill received by text, 2nd month by email, 3rd month 'twice' by email & 4th month NOT AT ALL! tried ringing vodafone to get bill, consultant asked for vodaphone mobile number, i explained I was an internet customer not a mobile customer therefore didnt have a mobile number consultant says 'sorry ma'am we cant assist you without a mobile number' then hung up!
Went INTO vodafone - stood there 15 minutes (initially i was only other customer in store apart from 2 people being served)& staff saw me waiting! other customers entered store & queued behind me (as you do)... my turn came, a lady walks up pushes in & the vodafone rep tells ME I have to wait now because they have started serving the other lady grrrr!... so of course i left. Went home, tried ringing again this time waited 58 minutes - no answer then got disconnected. went back into store (different store this time) got served. was told bill was due a few days earlier - explained i hadnt received email, was told that the email was showing as queued (meaning never got sent) no apologies just told to pay the bill at the post office - also told i may get a fee!!! (not a hope i'll be paying any fee).
My internet drops out ALL the time and shifts between 3G and H on a continuous basis making it almost impossible to keep a connection! I want to drop my dataplan to a lower one (im on month to month) but apparantly not allowed???
Try telling vodafone your problems, if they bother to answer there phones, THEY WONT CARE about your issues!!! They have absolutely DISGUSTING customer service and are impossible to reason with!!! Best thing to do - ditch them and go with another company!!!

4619 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is EPIC FAIL! at 27 Dec 2010 06:38:25 PM
Where do i begin??
Last year trying to suspend my fiance's contract for him whilst he was overseas with the Navy - before he left they told me i could do it provided i had his pin etc. When i called the day after he left, they said only he could do it. Yeh - in the middle of the indian ocean how's he supposed to ring!?
Then he did it himself. Only to find a month later a bill for some $600 for international calls after his mate borrowed his phone (they do that), which would have been fine IF vodafone had actually suspended the contract so no calls could be made.
I rejoined them again last year - stupid me - simply because my partner at the time was also with vodafone.

Left to go travelling overseas a month ago. I had called customer service over a period of several weeks, almost never getting through, and when i did, the call connection would inevitably fail EVERY time. Eventually, the day before i left, my mum managed to get through on my behalf. I asked them how to unlock my phone because their internet unlock thing wasnt working - hadnt been for some weeks. And they told me all i had to do was plug it in to iTunes and it would be fine. (iPhone 3). I asked what i would do if it didnt work coz i was leaving late that night and they said it would be fine - it would work. Tried it. It didnt work. Called back and they were closed. So about a week later after having no phone to use overseas coz mine was locked, i went into a london vodafone store to ask if they could help. They put me on the phone to vodafone AU and fortunately i had my first helpful service rep that day. He found there was a problem with my phone imei number or something and was having tech support get onto it... though he said that might be up to 10 days. In the meantime, i was supposed to be supplying a phone number to a future workplace in the US regarding an internship - desperately hoping they wouldnt withdraw the offer because i wasnt able to give them a number to call me on. By this time i'd spent, i'd approximate, 15-20 hours in the past month trying to contact vodafone in one way or another. During this time trying to unlock my phone, i was also trying to have the contract put on suspension whilst overseas - god only knows if they've actually done that.

The fact that I couldnt reach vodafone for customer service - even for the simplest of things - and then finally reaching them after weeks of trying, for them to give me a dud solution prior to the holiday of a lifetime, it completely ruined the fisrt few weeks fo my trip overseas (and the lead up) because all i did was worry. Fortunately, i unlocked my phone 2 days ago. Wishing i never had to deal with them again but unfortunately when i get back i will still have another year left of my contract.

Great idea creating this site. Vodafone is playing with its customers. Their customer service is non existent. Like everybody else here, I waited more than ONE hour everytime I called their "customer service" to have somebody answering the phone then to be told that I should be talking to a different department. After nearly TWO hours on the phone somebody from Vodafone told me that Vodafone was upgrading their computers and the service should be up in a couple of weeks. Is this a Vodafone joke?? As this site suggests, call the TIO and present your complain. The Federal Government that legislates and grants licenses to telecommunications operators like Vodafone must also take a position to protect the customers.

Have been a Vodafone customer for approx 6 years and have never had a problem with them until the last 6 months, me and my wife have Iphone's and we are always getting No Service or only 1 bar of coverage, for the cost of the plans we are on we expect to get better, but at the moment are considering paying out the contracts to go elsewhere, but WHY should I????? Vodafone need to pull there act together, I have gone into a vodafone shop on various occasions only to be told to call customer service, then when I do call customer service I'm waiting for approx 40 mins before I get to speak to someone, I don't how long other people are waiting but when I'm working and I have to wait for more than 40 minutes, that's not very good Customer Service (my job suffers), when you finally get through to someone they aren't very helpful anyway, there is a language barrier.... Vodafone kept debiting my credit card after I cancelled it online. When they finally responed to my repeated email they told me I have another 12 months of contract. I had to send them a copy of my contract to prove they were wrong. They finally canceled my service not before taking 4 extra months payments & refusing to refund them or respond to my requests!

Mine is an age old complaint I lodged 3 complaints via email of lousy and sloppy customer service to the point I felt the company ignored my emails or did not bother checking there inboxes, I had a faulty handset and arranged to pick up a loan handset and when on arrival at the store I left my phone they said there was no handset available, there "customer service team" were more interested in their slurpees than getting me a loan handset and I had to push for them to find one and they proceded to tell me there were none available and if I wanted could purchase one at a discount price I was without a phone for 10 days and I can tell you that it seemed longer than that, Add to that I was wanting to change handsets as mine has decided to pocket call and not close down after the 30 second limit all I got was a blank look and told I could not do anything until I was out of contract, even though I was only asking questions to the point where I was offering to renew my contract if given a new handset there seems to be a culture of your stuck so stick it, we also live in a blackspot area where at the best of times we cannot recieve calls and have to use our handsets to text when we dont want to, I and my wife will not be renewing our contract with vodafail because of there lack of customer service and if there staff dont care what does that say about the company huh go figure

I do snake catching in my spare time and my clients do not appreciate not being able to get hold of me. If I am the only snake catcher avaiable in my area and I cannot be contacted due to Vodafones dreadful call centre in India and even worse customer service, and should my client get bitten - I will hold them totally responsible.

I have been told that my suburb is 'the best in Australia for coverage', I have been offered a free extra simm card with free call diversion for one month, what use is that when I cant get coverage or have the dropped calls?

I do not accept the apology or the patronising statement of how good coverage is, I do not appreciate the dreadful English/communication skills of their support staff, nor do I accept how long I have to wait to speak to someone and then be transferred 4 times or even cut off! I have contacted the TIO and Vodafone have not offered a resolution yet, when I said I would see them in court, someone with poor English said 'Very good Madam but your suburb is the best in Australia'.

So Vodafone, you had better pray that my clients can get hold of me in an emergency or I will talk like a budgie to every newspaper I can think of and I will do so very loudly. I want out of my contract and I want out now!

4506 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Annoying at 27 Dec 2010 06:18:25 PM
Dear Sir/Madam,

I have been trying to call the 1555 number to no avail. 'Lara' keeps telling me she'll be with me in a moment that never arrives even after 25 minutes.

I am currently paying $129 a month to yourselves for calls, sms's and surfing the web. Neither of which works adequately as the coverage is intermittent at home (st leonards) and work (Sydney CBD). Calls drop out, SMS's never arrive or arrive late or in the wrong order and the 3G is either slow or unavailable.

Please advise why should I keep paying $129 a month for poor technology and customer service?

Name and mobile number below. Been a voda customer for over 5 years now.

Regards,

i live in surry hills where reception is ok. On my train to work (taking into consideration tunnels) from central to epping via newcastle line i get ZERO 3g. I get 1 bar of REGULAR reception (2g) at my desk IF I'M LUCKY. I pay $130 on my cap for 1k calls 500mb per month which is fine IF I HAD A SERVICE GOOD ENOUGH TO USE EVEN HALF OF THAT QUOTA. I use my phone for work, so have had to buy a PREPAID TELSTRA phone to use while i'm at my desk. Works better in more places take it from me. The real insult was when i finally got on the phone to someone in bangalore, i was told they wouldn't release me from my contract, and that i'd need to have a technician come out and survey the area to confirm the condition. Great i thought, that's a nice offer. Thank you i'll take it "the wait is 4 months" *CLICK* GGF Vodafone, your service is garbage, as is your customer service. I speak to your employees and even they agree with me your service is garbage. After speaking to some folks from VF at a company even, i've been told a $400m infrastructure investment is going to alleviate the problem - but even that's a further 6 months down the track. DONT HAVE TIME FOR THAT. OVER IT VODAFONE. Your poor service and lack of commitment to even those who pay rediculous money on your FLAGSHIP CONSUMER SERVICE is the last staw for me. I'm in contact with the TIO, telstra here i come. Welcome me with open arms.

seriously, someone from ACA get on this. LEt's do some damage to VF in a truly public arena. Lets see what the shraeholders think then

Trying to cancel a years internt contract so that it does not roll onto a month by month basis. Impossible, after trying to get through I got disconnected (several times), then I have mailed them on 3 occasions, first I got a reply back stating "sorry we have not had a chance to look at your issue, please bear with us for another 48 hours", well that was 4 weeks ago now, since then I have been into their store and been told that I need to phone their customer service line because there is nothing they can do, even though they were speaking to a vodafone representative on at the other end, no apprently ring them a few days before the contract is up and they should be able to cancel it, and then I would only be charged pro rata !!!!!

I am disgusted, and will also be cancelling (if I can) my mobile contract when it is up for renewal shortly.
Vodafone should try a page out of Crazy John's book, their customer service is not only exsisting but absolutely brillian and most def a can do attitude.

I have tried many times to update my card details. The automated system just boots me off after presenting me with no useful options saying "sorry I can't understand you, you'll have to call back." At least some automated systems connect you to an operator if there is an issue. To just disconnect your customers is pathetic customer service. I have also tried waiting in the queue but so far haven't been able to get through to a human being.

Mobile broadband runs at a snails pace. Phone drop outs. Network busy when friends are not on phone and phone is on with good reception. Cant use my phone every couple of months when on holidays in central Qld, not even text mesages. not to mention the customer service how do you get help when you cant understand a word they say and they cant understand you?
28 Dec 2010 12:31:45 AM: I;m an Idependent ACN Representative,I understand how everyone are totally dissatisfied with the Vodaphone phone, internet and customer service qualities. Our ACN customer services are incredible. You can reach them less than 10 mins pratically everytime. They are fast and effiecient and never transfer your call unlike Telstra or Optus as I heard, If you want to know more about us, contact me in my email at cengiz@acnrep.com I loves to turn UNHAPPY customer to HAPPY customer.

I always have one or two bars of reception, i have never had full reception ever since joining on vodafone a few months ago. my phone calls drop out constantly. i have tried contacting them through their customer service line, had no luck, they told me they could not access my information (billing) untill a certain date, they then promised they would call me on a specific date and time. That day i checked on 'My Vodafone' and I found out i could access the information that they claimed they could not get. On top of that they never called back on the day and time they said they would. On top of all that mess, when i got my phone bill the next month, they told me i owed $165 that is overdue, for some unknown reason, since i am on a $79 UNLIMITED plan. When i called to ask where this $165 fee came from, they could not explain it and told me they had to speak to their manager and they would call me back. It has been 2 weeks since that happened and they still have not called me back. Not happy at all, If i knew this was the service you get with Vodafone i would of gone with another company.
27 Dec 2010 10:12:35 PM: Try going into a store. Generally speaking, the staff there can actually convey your bill to you in english.

i changed from 3 to Vodafone because the guy in the shop showed me the coverage for my area and it "was the best available anywhere" ... swapped the 2 teenagers and my service over. I was told to just ring vodafone to unlock the 2 x 3 phones... easy!
dropped sim off to cross teenager... tried to ring and unlock phones... 30 minutes and 3 calls later... and I was still talking to a robot who kept hanging up on me... I get home to my house - no service whatsoever! like NONE! had to drive 3 minutes down the road to get any service :( hopeless!
went back to the vodafone shop in the morning... um sorry but we cant change you back the same way... the shop sent an email to customer service and needed to wait for them to do something!!!! how cross was I? 2 days before christmas... not able to have our own numbers, not able to have 3 service... unbelievable... surely swapping from 1 to the other should be just as easy.... luckily wonderful shop assistant managed to fix problem.. her regional manager was there and they had to delete my service ... give me usim's and change numbers over...

I have been a loyal Vodafone customer for 8yrs, but this is just shocking. On one day I was on the phone to "customer service" 3 times... first I got cut off after being on hold for 20mins (Angry? You bet!). Then I rang back and this time got the option for the callback... 2hrs later my phone rings. The chick in "customer service"was less than helpful, didnt help that their system was down also. What a joke... They tell me to call them back (What!?) so I do, tell them my problems (mainly not sending/receiving sms) and they go on to blame my sim card for all my service dropouts/delays. Pfft. Not likely chump. I gave examples of a friend and partner as they are having the same problems. She suggests their sims are dodgy.
too. Are you for real?! So then I get forwarded onto "tech support". Why? Beats me! Surprise surprise they can't tell me anything. Then I get hung up on.... pissed? Of course. But, lucky for them they rang back. So I go get a new sim... has it fixed anything? What do you think? Of course not. I totally can't be bothered calling up again to sit on hold, only to talk to Some useless person in "customer service", with a shocking delay in response (you can't make me believe they are in Aust!). I'm over it, and lucky for me my plan runs out in Feb!

My MMS service isn't working too.

I called vodafone and after at least one hour on the phone the Vodafone customer service person had no idea how to fix it.. The service from this customer service person was hopeless as he was speaking in his own language to another customer service person beside him while i was trying to hear what he was doing to fix my problem and had me on hold for long periods.
I really wasn't happy with the service provided by the customer service person..
Looks like a bad overseas organisation that Vodafone has given the customer service too!!

I still get a bill from a previously closed down (Post-Pay Cell Phone) account that is almost a year old where I still have extra money on the account that I am owed. I have a new Vodafone account and I can not merge the account debit and credit together. I am now on a by-the-month Bring Your Own plan not a fixed 24 month contract and I can not get the present bill emailed to me it can only be sent in paper form (with a additional $2.50 fee) unlike the other bill that is emailed to me. I have poor or no service as soon as I go outside the City Area. Now I have a different email address I am going to have to pay a $2.50 fee for having the old bill I owe nothing on mailed to me in paper form. If you call Vodafone assistance and get to speak to someone they are barely able to speak English and 90% of the time the problem or issue is not resolved it is left the same way it started out as. I have spend hours on the phone waiting for the accounts and bills department but there is still no change to my accounts and it is a waste of my time and money. Vodafone is cheap compared to some other Telecommunication Providers in Australia but their customer service is so very low. Even if you go into a Vodafone store they are useless because I am told I need to call the department and they do not deal with such matters. The staff in the shops are only there to make a sale and get people on fixed contracts.

So first of all, vodafone started charging me up to 600 dollars a month for my phone usage. The reason was cause i was receiving random sms messages which I never signed up for but that cost me 50 dollars an sms. It was sms's with random world facts. I was never told, even when asked that this was the reason my phone bill was so high until i asked around and figured out what it was supposed to be.

So i go in to vodafone, change the play to the 99 dollar unlimited plan and get an i phone.

When I signed up i was told to keep making payments into the same bpay account, i did.

Later I am told I have not paid my phone bill. After about a week of fucking around I finally get through to the customer service line, and eventually they give me the money i paid in credit on my current account.

This month, I get another bill;. No credit has been applied, nothing. Not only that. I am told my phone will be cut off in a few days if i don't pay right away.

Only problem is, I have a sms, an automated phonecall and an email ALL stating different amounts I owe (Anywhere between 110 and 400) I call for days, am on the line for over an hour sometimes and get no help. Can't even talk to anyone.

Then when i try and use the automated service to find out how much my bill is and what my b pay details are i am told my account details are unable to be found at this time, sorry for the inconvenience.

Next day my phone gets cut off.

I go into vodafone to sort it out. I am told that no vodafone representative at a vodafone shop is allowed to handle billing issues and all I can do is pay the full amount and maybe sometime this week my phone will come back on (Maybe) I paid the bill on friday.

This is after the vodafone representative checked on his computer and indeed confirmed i had 300 dollars of credit. Credit which was given to me by vodafone over a month ago and is registered in their computers yet they still want me to p[ay the same amount because their computers cant sort my shit out.

On top of that, there is the constant bad internet connection, bad service, late messages, missed phonically that don't come through till after its too late.

my email is mlahooti@gmail.com

I am a film maker also. I will gladly help sue vodafone.

After being with optus for nearly 10 years I stupidly switched to Vodafone. I then had to wait over 4 weeks for my number to port across, during which time I subjected myself to their inadequate customer service as I attempted to have my problem resolved. One one occasion, I was disconnected from the 1300 number 5 times, and at least 2 of those calls had me on the line for nearly an hour. What a disgrace. I heard about this website on the news and to add insult to injury I can't get any Internet service on my Vodafone prepaid net so I am pain stakingly typing this on my iPhone.

Shame on Vodafone, you have failed to provide for me as a customer, and I cannot wait to escape this horrendous contract you have me bound to for the next 22 months!

Moved from the ACT in 2007, no problems with service there. Live in north coast area, have had poor service all the time I have lived here, have complained to Vodafone retail store about service and been told on more than one occasion that they were going to put in new tower in local area for better reception YEH RIGHT! Heard it all before, there are only a few places in my home where I can get service usually sit on front window sill. Sick to death of appalling service and lack of concern from customer service staff when I ring to complain. Their store closed some time ago but they were useless anyway. Good luck with this campaign.

I took out a VodaPhone Wireless Internet Stick for my computer to surf the net and thought that prepaid internet wireless was the only way to go, well I had nothing but problems when I got the product home, there was at best of times a very weak siginal or no signal at all, I took the product back many times and had it swap over for a new stick, but still it did not fix the problem, I thought that vodaphone would work in a major city here in Sydney but it didn't.
After serveral attempts and exchanges I finally had enough, I asked for a refund and they did not want to give it to me as they want to try other options still all which didn't work, so I demanded my money back the next time I went in and finally got the majority of the money back except for a few dollars. For peace of mind I didn't care, but I also have a vodaphone mobile too and thats a constant struggle to deal with friendly customer service, most times It sound like I am speaking to a call centre somewhere in India

When i finally got through, the idiot put me into the wrong department. I had to wait again to get transferred into the correct department. To change my plan it took me 3 hours and 40 mins in total. I watched 7 news @ 4.30, deal or no deal, sevens news at 6, today tonight at 6.30, the Simpsons at 7, and i was finally off the phone at 7.40pm (starting at 4.00pm). Ridiculous waiting time! They told me they couldn't find it so they connected me through to vodafone customer service where i tried to navigate lara through to an operator but was unsuccessful.

I ended up calling telstras call connect service and they were very helpful, they told me the randwick number wasn't in the phone book, but they looked the number up on the internet for me.

I should have just googled it myself. but i thought surely vodafone could easily connect me to one of their stores...

Disputed in closing/terminating 2 phones on my account.
I had my now Ex wife and her fathers mobile phones on my 3/Vodafone account. I contacted customer customer service to have these phones removed from my account by the end of my account period in September 2010. To my dismay this didn't happen and now they are demanding payment from the date in which they were to cancel and the date where I rang to find out why the service was still operating. Plus I had a $19 Bonus cap and they charges $29 to cancel.I won't be paying this amount & I guess they will put me on a bad credit rating agency but I'm an old bloke and a bad credit rating won't to any harm. OK My Mobile is still working and I pay for my Cap each month. My contract ends in April 2011 and it will be goodbye Orange/3/Vodafone after 9+ years. By the way the service since changing from Orange CDMA to "3" 3G is crap especially when roaming

Very poor reception - all the time. Call drop outs mid conversation or unable to reach others on their mobiles; 3 or 4 attempts required.
Misinformed about global roaming and felt ripped off and was not compensated satisfactorily.
I can't turn off my voice mail even when following the exact instructions - they, the automated voice, confirmed the action (to turn of v-mail) is done but it actually remains on.
Extremely difficult to speak to a customer service operator - you must go through so many electronic options and then you end up talking to someone in a foreign country and the quality of the call is usually very bad and the customer service operator doesn't speak English very well or can't understand you.

I refuse to call the call centre as the last 2 times i called i was informed by "LARA" that there was a 40 minute wait and guess what...? the line dropped out.. had been with voda in the past then optus then 3, went back to voda thinking they were the best of the bunch.. Hmpfff and the funny thing? I only commenced my contract at the end of August!! Have been with VF for a LONG time, however, signed up a two year contract in Feb 2010 (because I found their service to be excellent, Customer Service was crap, but never needed it in years). In July 2010, while wife was sick and tired of 3, I convinced her to switch over to Vodafone as well, BIG MISTAKE. It appears she brought all her problems with her;

1- Call Drop Outs.
2- Extremely Slow Internet.
3- No Coverage needing REBOOT (Blackberries are a pain in the arse to REBOOT)
4- SOS Only needing REBOOT.
5- 3G Constantly Dropping even at FULL 3G coverage a second ago.
6- 'SIM Unregistered' Message needing REBOOT.

Called VF, you know how frustrating it is trying to talk to bloody Lara while at work? Twenty five minutes first hold, problem not solved.

Second call, told to leave number and will get a call in just over thirty minutes, no call back for 52 minutes.

Called again, on hold for over 25 minutes when another call is on hold, switched over, 26 minutes later, been put back on hold, still not sorted.

I have avoided having wife's iPhone break my head numerous times (mostly because she loves her phone), but this is ridiculous.

My uncle passed overseas three days ago and while on the mobile talking to his daughter to share the sorrows, the phone drops out after a five minute conversation. to top that off, my sister calls me from USA because she is very depressed, but I can't call her back because the 'Sim Unregistered' message...

I will call them every time there is a problem and demand out if it keeps happening regularly hence forth.

This would happen with every phone call and all through thr duration of the call.....very very frustrating. Then they go change the cap values on how you use them. Gee dont ask the customer what suits their needs .Reception is up to shit. The customer service section is bloody hopeless. Thats why I have now switched to telstra, now drop out of calls and better coverage.....try and compete with that vodafone.....bet you cant

- Ordered mobile broadband @ online store
- Received order confirmation by email.
-Did not receive product
-rang to enquire about order ("customer care") - this took 2 attempts:
1. After 30m waiting - was hung up on.
2. Quoted my order number - told they couldn't find my order - told to ring back when I had the right order number! (which I had)
- After another 30m wait was told that I had previously quoted the right order number - but there had been a system error and my order was allocated to a different person instead - told to go and sort it out at a Vodafone store...
4. Made my way to vodafone store- to the front of the line - then told to wait because salesperson saw someone they could make a sale with instead of dealing with my problem.(even though I was there first)
5. Finally got some assistance was told again my order had not gone through. Salesperson rang someone on the phone- man on phone said they could give me three months for free if I placed another order with him, or I could place an order in store with salesperson and not get three months for free.. um?!
6. Waited around again for 5 mins while salesperson and man on phone chatted about the weather/ work party before hanging up.
7. Man on phone organised to call me back so I could place the order at 5.30pm that day- NEVER HEARD FROM HIM AGAIN!
The most pathetic customer service display I have ever seen and I endured it all for zero outcome. FAIL!

4302 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is No No No NO! at 27 Dec 2010 05:49:40 PM
I think waiting on hold for over 40 minutes, then to have your call answered by a clearly Indian person with an overworked Aussie accent is appealing and disgusting, then to be advised that they could not fix the problem I was having right away, and that I'll have to call back in an hour or so to have the issue even considered for correction is a customer service crisis.
Finally, after another phone call and this time over 50 minutes on hold, I was told that somebody would call me back in an hour or so to help me further.. so I waited for the return phone call, and about 4 hours later and nearly 10pm Sydney time, I received a phone call.... and surprise, surprise, the best solution to my problem was to go into a Vodafone store and the staff there can help me!
This is outrageous, shocking and most of all disgusting!
I'm contracted to stay with Vodafone for 8 more months, and would NEVER CONSIDER USING THIS CARRIER EVER AGAIN!!!!!

4286 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Consistently bad at 27 Dec 2010 05:46:39 PM
I have been with Vodafone since about 2004 and this past year have received the absolute worst customer service. Not to mention the next to no reception when at home. I can barely use my mobile broadband and have never had better reception then "poor" and that's a good day. Most days I'm so frustrated I give up and wait till I get to work and do whatever I can in my breaks. Meanwhile I'm paying $80 per month for my phone and $39 per month for my internet. It's rubbish.

4282 Someone from NT thinks vodafone is EPIC NETWORK FAIL ! at 27 Dec 2010 05:46:07 PM
I have had a contract with Vodafone for approx two years now. Although I've never had a problem with Customer Service per say; the Network is pathetic ! I live in Darwin in the Northern Suburbs District & work in the City district. Although Darwin may seem to be classed as a "remote" area, it's still no excuse for the such horrible Network Service I get. Both in the City & the Suburbs I get 1-3 bars of reception usually, & when receiving text messages they are some what delayed anywhere between 5minutes & an hour ! (according to the time stamp that also comes through), this is especially when I receive messages from other Vodafone Users. Attempts to make phone calls can sometimes not even be worth the try; as %50 if the calls I make Im usually met with the now all too familiar "beep, beep, beep", or be half way through the conversation (again more frequently with other Voda Users) and the call drops out with a message on my screen saying "Call Failed". I work in Car Rental and use my Mobile phone to organise many aspects of my day; getting through this efficiently and smoothly is impossible with the Vodafone Network & if the problem pursits will definately NOT be renewing my contract by the end of it. It's simply not worth the distress & especially the inconvinieces it causes for me in my Job ! So, do you think Vodafone will seriously get off their ass and do anything about it ? After numerous phone enquires, they're not even worth my time to go in and directly deal with them; I think NOT !
From one User who definately will not associate with Vodafone again unless they start to value their Clients & provide a more efficient service !

4277 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Non-existant! at 27 Dec 2010 05:45:26 PM
I have a pre-paid to test out services on all major providers & Vodafone used to be great in Brisbane & not quite as good as Optus & Telstra were useless & had awful service as well but since moving to NSW from Brisbane I have found & more so in the past 3mths that my Vodafone service is non-existant! All my calls drop out, people do not receive my sms & also my credit seems to be used when I haven't even used all my sms including free ones! I recommended Vodafone to all I know & found their customer service 2nd to none... but shame their mobile service is non-existant & costing me hard earned $! Even when Telstra called me on occasion to try & lure me over, I'd used to say - please do not ever call me again as your services are way too expensive & a rip off & remove me from your database!

Poor coverage (I have to go outside the house to make a call!!!), poor customer service, my cap charge is almost always exceeded even though I don't use the bloody thing as much as when I first signed up to the plan. I don't know how many people I've warned off using Vodaf??? but it must be in the dozens. Can't wait till my plan expires and I will stick with Optus (I now have an account with them because of Vodaf??? useless coverage.)

4262 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Abysmal at 27 Dec 2010 05:43:03 PM
I am so glad I watched the news tonight and have seen your website! Thank you!

Their customer service is just disgraceful - I don't know how they are allowed to get away with it.
the below is a complaint letter that I sent to them a couple of month ago. No one responded to me. I am going down to vodafone tomorrow to get out of my contract if I can - I encourage everyone to do the same - having no customers is the only way to hurt these organsiations - vote with your feet!

DEAR WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE PROVIDER EVER!

I AM WRITING THIS EMAIL OUT OF SHEER ANGER AND FRUSTRATION AS I CANNOT FIND ANSWERS ANY OTHER WAY. KNOWING VODAFONE I WON'T GET A RESPONSE.

YOUR RIDICULOUS LARA VOICE RECOGNITION SYSTEM IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING AND DOES NOT WORK. YOU WAIT ON HOLD FOR HOURS AND THEN GET THROUGH TO A DIVISION LIKE TECH SUPPORT WHEN YOU WANT BILLING AND THEY CAN'T HELP YOU. YOU ARE THEN TRANSFERRED BACK ONTO A QUEUE THAT YOU HAVE TO WAIT AGAIN.

LET YOUR CUSTOMERS SPEAK TO A REAL PERSON. A PERSON THAT IS AUSTRALIAN! YOU ARE THE AUSTRALIA DIVISION OF VODAFONE! I AM SICK AND TIRED OF BEING PUT THROUGH TO AN INDIAN OR EGYPTIAN CALL CENTRE WITH STAFF THAT CULTURALLY CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT. I HAVE BEEN ON HOLD TONIGHT FOR OVER TWO HOURS. RESOURCE YOUR CALL CENTRES APPROPRIATELY!!! I HAVE BEEN PASSED FROM EVERY DIVISION, SPOKEN TO A SUPERVISOR AND STILL NO ONE IS ABLE TO PUT ME THROUGH TO A PERSON THAT CAN ASSIST WITH MY REQUEST.

I APPRECIATE THAT YOU CFO IS TIGHT AND WANTS TO CUT COSTS BY OUTSOURCING CALL CENTRES TO INDIA AND EGYPT, BUT YOUR CUSTOMERS CAN'T UNDERSTAND THE INDIAN CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM'S ACCENT AND LANGUAGE BARRIERS. I JUST FOUND OUT THAT I CANNOT SPEAK TO ANYONE IN AUSTRALIA AT ALL. ASK YOUR MARKETING DIRECTOR - WHAT IS THE POINT OF DEVELOPING A GREAT BRAND CAMPAGIN WHEN YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE TREATED LIKE DIRT AT THE OTHER END I CANNOT BELEIVE HOW BACKWARD YOUR APPROACH TO CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE IS.

IF I DIDN'T HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO I WOULD START A VODAFONE HATE CAMPAIGN ACROSS EVERY SOCIAL NETWORK SITE I CAN FIND.

IF THERE IS ANYONE WITH A BRAIN THAT CAN READ THIS EMAIL, PLEASE SEND IT TO YOU MARKETING TEAMS, BECAUSE I AM SURE THEY WILL CARE MORE ABOUT THIS COMPLAINT THAN ANY OTHER. IF YOU WANT A LESSON IN CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE PHONE THE COMMONWEALTH BANK AS THEY KNOW HOW TO TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS PROPERLY. I FEEL LIKE I MATTER TO THEM AS A CUSTOMER.

WITH VODAFONE I CAN'T WAIT TO WORK OUT HOW I'M GOING TO GET OUT OF YOUR CONTRACT AND TELL EVERYONE HOW ABISMAL YOUR SERVICE IS!

IF SOME POTATO IN YOUR AUSTRALIA CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM COULD CONTACT ME TO ANSWER MY QUESTION I WOULD BE MOST GRATEFUL.

I WON'T HOLD MY BREATH.
27 Dec 2010 05:59:18 PM: Your letter looks close to the letter I wrote to them not that long ago. I'm still waiting for that call...All I have been getting is automated email replies
27 Dec 2010 11:36:07 PM: maybe you shouldn't be such a racist dickhead
29 Dec 2010 06:33:51 PM: LOl you idiot......Commonwealth Bank got the lowest score in customer service out of any of the major banks. Im not defending Vodafone nor am I trying to make Commonwealth Bank sound bad but seriously do some research before you make such stupid comments. P.S all you have to do is ask to cancel your contract, they will cancel it for you or come to a compromise. I was annoyed that I was paying $100 a month for shitty coverage and they cancelled my contract. Done happy :-) ......ohh and if you think that vodafone has tight ass CFO, you might want to google what commonwealth banks profits were last year. The board decides to cut costs to make money for share holders. Share holders at the end of the day want more profits so therefore favour cheaper decisions, the CFO is mearly a puppet in-between the public and its shareholders.........so who do we blame SHAREHOLDERS!!!! no further comment....
1 Jan 2011 02:19:04 PM: all the gr8 intellects with all the brains and minds are posting here. u guys deserve a PHD in being a waste by vodafail university :P :D

2 Jan 2011 02:39:17 PM: He must be a pea brain with PHD envy
8 Jan 2011 05:59:50 AM: Whats with pd continually refering to phd s?
9 Jan 2011 04:29:17 PM: Hullo friend

very sorry to hear from your issues . For all the viewers , please understand vodafone is upgrading its towers and that is why is the reasons for all this . vodafone is trying to give its customers cheapest and best services to all . The main reason two company telstra and optus is jealsouy and cant win in business side , so they are tarnishing the image of vodafone.vodafone has invested 8billions for its towers and 8.3ghz frequency which is equal to telestra. People need to be patient . customer care in India is par excellence services . Indians are well educated and well mannered people .if aussies understand indian english then there is some problem in vocal bury and ausi phonics. Guys cant we just grow up?and let us stop being racist .and for all your worries on vodaofne , you will be definitely compensated .
31 Jan 2011 04:42:47 PM: Oh yeah and are you authorised by vodacrap to lie on their behalf, and mislead some people into believeing we will be compensated?
13 Feb 2011 11:47:48 PM: I fail to see how pointing out that the majority of us cannot understand Indian or Egyptian accents is racist.... its just the truth. We cant understand what they're saying. Who wouldn't rather have Australian operators where half the conversation isn't asking them to repeat what they just said 3 times?

I have a iPhone with vodafail on a 2 year contract which is up in 6 months! I have had problems with them over the years were they have been taking money out of my bank account with out any consent or contract binding! When I rang to sort it out they kept putting me through to the debts area like i was the one that owed them money!! I had to go to the TIO in the end to have it sorted out. Last week I waited on hold for customer service for 1 hour and 20 minutes to try and have my handset upgraded. I hung up in the end because I couldn't bear to waist anymore of my time!! NOT HAPPY
