Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

I was on Vodafone Prepaid until recently. When I signed up in October 2008, the network was terrific. Could not complain one bit - plus it was far cheaper than Telstra! I had coverage where and when I needed it, and that's what mattered to me.

Well, In about August of 2010, things started going downhill. First it was calls being broken up. Then dropped calls. Then I couldn't send SMS's. Slowly, it got worse and worse. It got to a point I couldn't use the Internet anymore at all, 24/7. However, my phone (Nokia 3120c) always assured me I had 3 or 4 (of 4) bars...

One day it took 20 minutes for a very important text to arrive, meaning I was over half an hour late for an important appointment.

I tried contacting Vodafone (mainly through their Twitter account), but they were no help. They simply denied there were issues. I looked at people mentioning them - almost everyone was having similar issues. Hah!

That was the last straw for me. I was over Vodafone. I did the only thing I could, and I switched to Telstra (along with getting a Nokia 6120c). I've been incredibly happy with them so far - I have reception EVERYWHERE, almost always have 7 (of 7) bars, call quality is great, SMS's arrive within seconds of being sent, and I can actually use the web, too! If I've had questions, their terrific Twitter support has been able to help me out.
The best thing about it is that their equivalent Prepaid option (I was on 365 day recharge with Voda, now on Telstra Prepaid Long Life) is exactly equivalent value for money, which is great. Plus, with the recent introduction of cheaper data packs, I can even tether my phone. It's great!!

I'd encourage everyone who has issues with Vodafone to consider another provider, especially if you're on prepaid or, more recently, can get out of your contract free.

Good luck!
