Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

19870 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is No 3g internet reception at 5 Nov 2011 07:29:04 AM
I am in Rosebery (NSW). I have not been able to access the internet on my phone for two days. I have tried to call 1555 (their Customer Support number) but after the prompts, the call is disconnected. I'm assuming it is because they are being flooded with calls and have either discconnected the number or can not cope with the amount of enquiries. Not happy.

Another thing to share - I called them last week (end of October 2011) and asked them when my contract expired. They claimed that they couldn't tell me! LOL. My guess is they know people are wanting to leave the network, so they are have instructed their staff not to provide that information. I went into a store the next day and was told it expires in March 2011, so I'm counting down until I move to Telstra.
5 Nov 2011 01:25:19 PM: Did you mean to say March 2012?

If so not long now, if not then off you go!

5 Nov 2011 08:50:49 PM: Yes I meant March 2012. My mistake. I probably made the error in wishful thinking!
6 Nov 2011 05:45:32 AM: Ahhhh......I thought it was, a wishful thinking typo!

Word of caution, you may think the contract is over in March but it is a rolling contract. Around January you may have an offer in the post of something like the last or first 3 months of the old/new contract free, or perhaps a new phone, but you have to contact VF cancellations team with the pain of 1555 to cancel the contract.

You will be offered further incentives to keep you to stay and the promise of jam tomorrow regarding their network capabilities.

Refuse, politely, advise VF you wish to cancel, make sure you record the name and CSR id, date and time of call and most importantly cancellation of any direct debits with VF. Ask for the cancellation confirmation via e mail (they will refuse that one!) or text, something to record the cancellation has happened.

Some customers (me included) have found they have been receiving direct debits from VF for months after the cancellation, eventually I had to use the TIO to get them to stop and refund the monies taken.

Good luck with your new provider next March!
