26 Mar 2012 - Update Highest Rated Pain Stories Highest Rated Gain Stories Vodafail Local Facebook Page
Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

4378 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is difficult and unhelpful at 27 Dec 2010 05:57:35 PM
I had a vodafone 6 month plan and after 5 months I went overseas. I was told that I could cancel at the end of the 6 months. I emailed vodafone to do so and recieved no reply but continued to be billed (I had set up auto pay with my bank)I had my father visit the store and they assured him (after 3 hours in the store!) that it would be resolved. I recieved more bills. I emailed again,
no reply... This went on for the whole 6 months I was away (not using my phone)
upon returning home I went into the store and after an hour or more, the issue still wasn't resolved. I was told I would be refunded the ammount payed out as they at least had a record of the email (so why didn't they answer it??) But the staff couldn't confirm that, as, you guessed it, they couldn't get through and needed to Email HQ. Still waiting for a reply...

4377 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is worst company ever at 27 Dec 2010 05:57:18 PM
I was with vodafone for a year and a bit i had nothing but problems with the service. I would call and it would drop out. I constantly went into vodafone stores for help and were unable to help told me to call customer service. i finally went into another vodafone store who had seen in my account i had nothing but problems called customer service and once again were unable to help. i had called customer service myself abusing them and constantly repeating myself and waivered fees to get out of the contract i then sent the phone back and no longer have anything to do with. I am appauled at the service provided.

4361 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is FAIL WITH 5 STARS at 27 Dec 2010 05:55:32 PM
where to start? transferred to voda from 3 (at the point where i wasnt aware they were merging..) then had problems with sign up- somehow wrong info entered, pushed into putting my number onto hubby's account which is all great til it comes on 1 bill which has none of my details - hopeless for tax.. mislead about data packages, bills $200 more than they shouldve been (basically staff instore told us different to the actual - and then i heard them repeat same to another customer next time i was in store!!!) told by 3/VODA customer service that i was wrong and that i needed to listen to them, spent countless hours on the phone to call centres on the other side of the world who cant seem to fix anything.. finally got credited for the mishap, but they STILL couldnt get my details right.. been ok for about a month, now it seems that my house has no reception despite my phone saying full reception.. I refuse to call the call centre as the last 2 times i called i was informed by "LARA" that there was a 40 minute wait and guess what...? the line dropped out.. had been with voda in the past then optus then 3, went back to voda thinking they were the best of the bunch.. Hmpfff and the funny thing? I only commenced my contract at the end of August!! They dont seem to think its funny when i tell them that i am disconnecting my payments because they havent kept their deal... TELCO Ombudsman here we come!!! just waiting for another written response from them to add to the collection!!

Vodafone prepaid broadband the past couple of weeks is worse than dial-up. One day the support centre was off the air. Today I cannot access my account info on the net. One useless thing after another. Unfortunately cannot afford to go elsewhere, was with 3 but was ripped off to the tune of $150 so wont go there again. At least the Vodafone site doesnt lie like 3 does.

4267 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is account statement at 27 Dec 2010 05:44:32 PM
Every time I try to download my statement to pay my account it won't allow me to do so Iam getting hit with huge bills which should not be happening on my plan that Iam on which is the $69 cap allowing me $700 cap & 2Gig of Data so how do I pay my Bill. For the last few years I was with 3 when my contract was up they told me that I should go with vodaphone as nothing would change how wrong were they I have never ever had any problems with 3. Now everythings a problem I contacted vodaphone about my bill which they assured me the problem was solved and quoted an amount which I would pay to fix the problem problem is I still can't download a statement to get the barcode to pay the amount they told me to pay.

Poor coverage (I have to go outside the house to make a call!!!), poor customer service, my cap charge is almost always exceeded even though I don't use the bloody thing as much as when I first signed up to the plan. I don't know how many people I've warned off using Vodaf??? but it must be in the dozens. Can't wait till my plan expires and I will stick with Optus (I now have an account with them because of Vodaf??? useless coverage.)

4262 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Abysmal at 27 Dec 2010 05:43:03 PM
I am so glad I watched the news tonight and have seen your website! Thank you!

Their customer service is just disgraceful - I don't know how they are allowed to get away with it.
the below is a complaint letter that I sent to them a couple of month ago. No one responded to me. I am going down to vodafone tomorrow to get out of my contract if I can - I encourage everyone to do the same - having no customers is the only way to hurt these organsiations - vote with your feet!

DEAR WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE PROVIDER EVER!

I AM WRITING THIS EMAIL OUT OF SHEER ANGER AND FRUSTRATION AS I CANNOT FIND ANSWERS ANY OTHER WAY. KNOWING VODAFONE I WON'T GET A RESPONSE.

YOUR RIDICULOUS LARA VOICE RECOGNITION SYSTEM IS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING AND DOES NOT WORK. YOU WAIT ON HOLD FOR HOURS AND THEN GET THROUGH TO A DIVISION LIKE TECH SUPPORT WHEN YOU WANT BILLING AND THEY CAN'T HELP YOU. YOU ARE THEN TRANSFERRED BACK ONTO A QUEUE THAT YOU HAVE TO WAIT AGAIN.

LET YOUR CUSTOMERS SPEAK TO A REAL PERSON. A PERSON THAT IS AUSTRALIAN! YOU ARE THE AUSTRALIA DIVISION OF VODAFONE! I AM SICK AND TIRED OF BEING PUT THROUGH TO AN INDIAN OR EGYPTIAN CALL CENTRE WITH STAFF THAT CULTURALLY CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHAT I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT. I HAVE BEEN ON HOLD TONIGHT FOR OVER TWO HOURS. RESOURCE YOUR CALL CENTRES APPROPRIATELY!!! I HAVE BEEN PASSED FROM EVERY DIVISION, SPOKEN TO A SUPERVISOR AND STILL NO ONE IS ABLE TO PUT ME THROUGH TO A PERSON THAT CAN ASSIST WITH MY REQUEST.

I APPRECIATE THAT YOU CFO IS TIGHT AND WANTS TO CUT COSTS BY OUTSOURCING CALL CENTRES TO INDIA AND EGYPT, BUT YOUR CUSTOMERS CAN'T UNDERSTAND THE INDIAN CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM'S ACCENT AND LANGUAGE BARRIERS. I JUST FOUND OUT THAT I CANNOT SPEAK TO ANYONE IN AUSTRALIA AT ALL. ASK YOUR MARKETING DIRECTOR - WHAT IS THE POINT OF DEVELOPING A GREAT BRAND CAMPAGIN WHEN YOUR CUSTOMERS ARE TREATED LIKE DIRT AT THE OTHER END I CANNOT BELEIVE HOW BACKWARD YOUR APPROACH TO CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE IS.

IF I DIDN'T HAVE BETTER THINGS TO DO I WOULD START A VODAFONE HATE CAMPAIGN ACROSS EVERY SOCIAL NETWORK SITE I CAN FIND.

IF THERE IS ANYONE WITH A BRAIN THAT CAN READ THIS EMAIL, PLEASE SEND IT TO YOU MARKETING TEAMS, BECAUSE I AM SURE THEY WILL CARE MORE ABOUT THIS COMPLAINT THAN ANY OTHER. IF YOU WANT A LESSON IN CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE PHONE THE COMMONWEALTH BANK AS THEY KNOW HOW TO TREAT THEIR CUSTOMERS PROPERLY. I FEEL LIKE I MATTER TO THEM AS A CUSTOMER.

WITH VODAFONE I CAN'T WAIT TO WORK OUT HOW I'M GOING TO GET OUT OF YOUR CONTRACT AND TELL EVERYONE HOW ABISMAL YOUR SERVICE IS!

IF SOME POTATO IN YOUR AUSTRALIA CUSTOMER SERVICE TEAM COULD CONTACT ME TO ANSWER MY QUESTION I WOULD BE MOST GRATEFUL.

I WON'T HOLD MY BREATH.
27 Dec 2010 05:59:18 PM: Your letter looks close to the letter I wrote to them not that long ago. I'm still waiting for that call...All I have been getting is automated email replies
27 Dec 2010 11:36:07 PM: maybe you shouldn't be such a racist dickhead
29 Dec 2010 06:33:51 PM: LOl you idiot......Commonwealth Bank got the lowest score in customer service out of any of the major banks. Im not defending Vodafone nor am I trying to make Commonwealth Bank sound bad but seriously do some research before you make such stupid comments. P.S all you have to do is ask to cancel your contract, they will cancel it for you or come to a compromise. I was annoyed that I was paying $100 a month for shitty coverage and they cancelled my contract. Done happy :-) ......ohh and if you think that vodafone has tight ass CFO, you might want to google what commonwealth banks profits were last year. The board decides to cut costs to make money for share holders. Share holders at the end of the day want more profits so therefore favour cheaper decisions, the CFO is mearly a puppet in-between the public and its shareholders.........so who do we blame SHAREHOLDERS!!!! no further comment....

8 Jan 2011 05:59:50 AM: Whats with pd continually refering to phd s?
9 Jan 2011 04:29:17 PM: Hullo friend

very sorry to hear from your issues . For all the viewers , please understand vodafone is upgrading its towers and that is why is the reasons for all this . vodafone is trying to give its customers cheapest and best services to all . The main reason two company telstra and optus is jealsouy and cant win in business side , so they are tarnishing the image of vodafone.vodafone has invested 8billions for its towers and 8.3ghz frequency which is equal to telestra. People need to be patient . customer care in India is par excellence services . Indians are well educated and well mannered people .if aussies understand indian english then there is some problem in vocal bury and ausi phonics. Guys cant we just grow up?and let us stop being racist .and for all your worries on vodaofne , you will be definitely compensated .
31 Jan 2011 04:42:47 PM: Oh yeah and are you authorised by vodacrap to lie on their behalf, and mislead some people into believeing we will be compensated?
13 Feb 2011 11:47:48 PM: I fail to see how pointing out that the majority of us cannot understand Indian or Egyptian accents is racist.... its just the truth. We cant understand what they're saying. Who wouldn't rather have Australian operators where half the conversation isn't asking them to repeat what they just said 3 times?

I have a iPhone with vodafail on a 2 year contract which is up in 6 months! I have had problems with them over the years were they have been taking money out of my bank account with out any consent or contract binding! When I rang to sort it out they kept putting me through to the debts area like i was the one that owed them money!! I had to go to the TIO in the end to have it sorted out. Last week I waited on hold for customer service for 1 hour and 20 minutes to try and have my handset upgraded. I hung up in the end because I couldn't bear to waist anymore of my time!! NOT HAPPY

4249 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Reception and over-charging at 27 Dec 2010 05:40:37 PM
Reception is very poor and if i wasn't on the phone for a good hour saying to 'Vodafone' people, look you have over charged my account by $245.30, they could have easy got away with it. They kept telling me I went over my plan when I never have. It took so much of time and effort and who knows how many people they have actually got away with scamming. It is a waste of my time!
Disappointed and disgusted with the signal!!

I've been getting a text message from vodaphone for 3 months now, saying that my $16 bill for this month is now ready to be paid please go online. I AM A '3' customer and have been for about 5 years. So after being on hold to vodafail for 55 minutes and transferred about 10 times (no joke), they just said to ignore this as I do not have an active account??? Hmmmm. Too bad if I had just paid it every month, like some other poor defenseless people.

4213 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Pathetic, Horror experience at 27 Dec 2010 05:34:29 PM
It took nearly 2 weeks to receive the product because it was sent to a distribution centre outside my area. 3G coverage at my home close to centre of Tweed Heads is one bar or less. I phoned Vodafone about reception; phone call took 1 hour 15 minutes, They would look into reception problem & get back in under 72hrs.No they didn't. I phoned twice over 6 days only to be told the service could not be improved in my area.(web sites shows excellent coverage along the coast) I told them I wanted to cancel the service & I was told a return bag would sent to me. Once they received the device my account would cease. Over 2 months latter I received the return bag. I don't know how many hours I spent on the phone to them to finally get the bag. Although I wasn't using the device and had cancelled the service I was still being billed. Vodafone kept telling me the bag had been sent, kept telling me they would get back to me. When I finally posted the device back I kept receiving bills. Vodafone kept telling me they hadn't received the device. I eventually had to find out from Aust post when the device was delivered and tell Vodafone where and when it was delivered. I no longer receive paper bills but I received an email bill last month which was in credit.(4 mths from the beginning of the horror experience now) I have never dealt with a company with such poor customer relations. I spent literally hours on the phone waiting to speak to customer service. Never again will I have anything to do with Vodafone.
Tips for dealing with Vodafone.
Use a handsfree phone when calling them, you can do other things while you are put on hold.
Card games,Free cell and patience are good to fill in the time.
Hands free cordless speaker phone would allow you to go make a cup of tea or get something to eat from the kitchen.
Keep your cool because if you lose it they may hang up on you & you will have to call back and be on hold an hour or so.
Remind them there is a Telecommunication Ombudsman you will contact if you don't get results.
Keep a record of all you phone calls to them, dates and times and results.
Persistance is the only way you will win. I hope you have plenty of time to waste on the phone.
Best wishes
Robert

Been with Vodafone for about 13 years now, i have 2 phones/plans on my account, i have never ever heard from vodafone asking if i am happy, or how they can help etc etc. the last few months the reception here has been going down hill, the last 2 weeks we all of a sudden have no reception in our house and we have to drive around the block to get some coverage. Not good when i am trying to run a business on these phones, now i am using my home phone all the time and that bill is going to be huge, and we are even having to give clients our home phone number so they can get hold of us, its a joke!!! I rang Vodafone the other night, after being on hold for 1hr 23mins i finally spoke to someone who was trying to tell me it was phone(which is iPhone 3GS) even after i told her we have 2 phones doing the same thing, and my next door neighbour the same also, but she continued to make me try and reset all different settings on my phone(about 4 times) and now i have lost all my settings and a fair bit my stuff i had stored on there is gone too!!!! She told me i was in a standard good 3G reception area, and maybe i need to take my phone to get looked at(again i told its happening with all phones) she then said they have noted my call in the system and are looking into it and i should either have the problem fixed or hear from Vodafone regarding this within the next 72 hours, well i havent had either happen, i am furious!!!! i am stuck in a plan on one phone still for another year and a half, and the other is due in 2 months, which i was going to renew in the new year so i can get another iphone for 24 month contract, doubt i will be doing that now, anyone got Telstras number?

After 10 years of using Voda in the city, I moved to a country location and was assured that the service was advanced enough to facilitate my move.........well it wasn't. I'm in a major country town, 1 bar reception if any, 3 days to receive text messages, and to top it, I had the stupidity to sign up for a two year contract on theit 3G broadband offer. Download speeds were worse than my old dial up account on a landline. That was of course when there was no cloud cover, let alone a storm. Then, I had no reception at all, sometimes for days. I am now out of that internet deal, and after 12 years of faithful phone customership, I will be moving my accuont to someone else soon.

Now dont even get me started on the appaling so-called customer service, with that Lara autobot.........the amount of times I have been hung up on simply because the autobot cannot understand my inquiry. If at some astonishing time I do get to talk to a human, its someone that had little experience in actually speaking the English language.

Vodafone, you now suck..................

4172 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Pathetic at 27 Dec 2010 05:29:57 PM
Myself and my girlfriend have both travelled overseas using global roaming. We both were out of Australia at different times. I went to Asia and when she was on her holiday she went to Europe. For both of us we got bad reception, only enough so the call would connect and we get charged the ridiculous connection fee and then 30 seconds of static before it disconnected. We occasionally got ok reception but continued to get dropouts. Our complete talk times were minimum but we both got massive bills. Mine was over 600 dollars on top of my cap and hers was well over $1400. I also suffer from continuous drop outs to other people who use Vodafone also and get stupid charges on my bills. I got the same bill 3 times with them stating I hadn't paid which I had paid each time and now have about a 3 month credit on my account as they wouldn't refund my money which would have been good as it's Xmas time. I have been with Vodafone for a few years cuz if their caps but I have had problems with phones they send out as I received 5 phones in a row that didn't work properly. My girlfriend has been getting charged double her bill every month cuz they failed to change her cap properly like she asked. Her and I are waiting for our contracts to end to find a better provider.
27 Dec 2010 05:33:18 PM: Oh and their customer service is a joke as u have to wait on hold for hours sometimes listening to bad music as they don't always offer the call back option. Just trying to sort out a bill took 2 days of constant calling them and waiting to get call backs. It's suppose to be a 24 hour 7 day service but it is out of service all the time!!!

4158 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is no reception, drop out, running my phone battery dry! at 27 Dec 2010 05:27:22 PM
after being with '3' for over a year i decided to swith to vodafone because my partner and most of the people i know are connected with them so i get the free calling credit, i have since regret this decision. Not only does my credit on my prepaid account run out quicker even with the free calls to other vodfone customers my battery power is running out quicker than with '3' i have no reception in most cases inside and while on a call it will simply drop out i can just change services but my girl friends cant as she will have to pay to have her phone unlocked as its locked to vodafone so this does not just affect contract consumers i believe they should not charge prepay customers to unlock their phones when they recieve poor services because this is also affecting my partner who lives innerstate!! Its unbelieveable this is happening because '3' and vodafone are now part of the same company!
27 Dec 2010 05:31:49 PM: If your friend has an iPhone tell her to google how to unlock your phone. You can do it for free.

4146 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Astonishingly at 27 Dec 2010 05:25:09 PM
Having struggled through limited Mobile Broadband Coverage in houses in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, all of which are in areas of full coverage according to Vodafone's coverage maps, the last straw recently came when my ex and I tried to split the numbers currently under my name onto seperate accounts. We got the run-around of shop-front people saying they couldn't do it, we had to ring Customer "support", only to be told that we could do it at a shop. More than 12 hours between us later on hold, we still haven't been able to resolve the issue - I've been told the authorisation has gone through and would be effective immediately, only for her to call and be told that the authorisation hasn't been made. Oh, and I am writing this through a Dial-Up speed connection for which I am still paying Broadband rates. My fancy new Smartphone suffers from the same bandwidth strangulation. I don't have a positive thing to say about Vodafone, and am seriously considering leaving them, except that previous experience with other carriers hasn't exactly been positive.

I've been with vodafone for years but each time I ring up it's the same procedure familiar to anyone dealing with any telco - idiotic menu choices that don't work anyway. Today I rang for technical assistance and got billing who then told me I should have rung technical assistance and who then said they'd put me through- instead I ended up with billing again. 30 minutes of nowhere.

signal drop out, navigation not working on gps,i was thinking may be it was the phone but after reading other complaints not so sure now..(though the touch screen not always working.)
i am getting a new phone hada a choice of five to choose from..
but even trying to get thru to customer care is not easy, speak to lara first crap, and in a few words tell lara...
going into a vodafone shop is just as bad they have to call customer care as well and u are waiting in the shop for them to get through..each shop has a manager, they should be able to have the abilty to act on vdafones behalf but they cannot...
connecting internet is painfully slow if it does..
dialing 1512 service to find out how much is owed on account doesnt always work.
i have been with them since i have had a mobile but this last year has been utter crap...

4104 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Too the extreme!!! at 27 Dec 2010 05:22:09 PM
I joined Vodafail Broadband Wireless in November 2009, as part of joining over the phone I was to receive 3 months free; I was lead to believe that this would be the first 3 months of the contract, but after contacting Vodafail I was told my 3 months free would be received in the 5th, 6th & 7th month. Each month I didn't receive the free month, in which I made many long calls to Vodafail and in turn was promised each time that it would begin on the next bill. A couple of months back I emailed them to explain my situation and that I was feeling the customer service team were insulting my intelligence by continually promising my free months would happen from the next bill (having them repeat this promise at least 3 times per call :)I also requested to cancel my contract as they had not held up their end of the contract, so I was not prepared to hold up mine and would like to persue a more reparable provider. I received a reply to my email a few weeks later stating that they apologise that the discount had been received and it will happen from my next bill and of course yet again this didn't transpire. I had to take a break from this frustrating situation for a couple of months as it was driving me crazy and I was no longer being very polite to the customer service people which is extremely out of character for me, so with it now being 8 months since my first contact I would like to formally complain for the inconvenience this has caused, the time wasted, the cost to my mobile phone account I would like compensation for the call cost also. (which is also with vodafail, but that's another complaint altogether).
Thank you for taking the time to set up this web page and I hope the authorities will look into this further as it is totally unacceptable for the money we pay for these services.
Kind regards,
Leanne - leemar76@hotmail.com

i live 1 km from pacific highway in a gully, classified 3g area on map. it is drop out country. 5mins then drop. I am crazy johns prepaid mobile broadband (vodafone network) and they have 1mb min billing, so i will be on to them to increase mb for dropout.
Goes fro 3g automatically to HSDPa and then drops out. have to disconnect reconnect continually. Sometime I am so frustrated I switch to GPRS only and crawl at 1990s speed. .. and it still drops out.

So i've been on the $79 cap for about 24 months and every month my bill has been in the hundreds. I dont exceed the usage and no one can answer my questions/cant get ahold of anyone. Recently i paid my $130 bill and a week later i get a message from vodafone saying that I owe $188 in charges on top of my cap? I log into my account and it says i owe $0.00 . But then it says in my "Spend since last bill" $127. I APPARENTLY HAVE WASTED $600 OF USAGE IN A WEEK? I USE MY PHONE IN MODERATION. COOL THANKS VODAFONE. I LOVE PAYING HIGH BILLS WITH NO EXPLANATION. LUV YA.

4038 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is HUGE!!! at 27 Dec 2010 05:15:48 PM
I'm a 10 year veteran of vodafoney - just too lazy to change carrier coz ultimately they're all the same or they are TELSTRA - TOO EXPENSIVE.

For manoths and months now I've suffered call drop outs in Redfern NSW, On the M4 freeway anywhere near Sydney Olympic Park, and in the Parramatta area. I get appalling feedback on most calls, the echo of my voice bouncing back is painful for my hears and gives me headaches. I use the phone all the time hands free on the headset while driving and my phone call bills show how many times I have to hang up and re-dial calls - that is if the call hasn't unexpectedly dropped out by itself. Everyone who works in my building knows vodafone does not work unless near a window.

I pay $79 a month for this joke. Let's not forget the appallingly slow speed and constant 'poor' connection for mobile internet access to my laptop anywhere in Randwick

I called them on 15th December. It took over an hour from Tech Dept to billing (who tried to send me back to Tech Dept) before I was offered a $100 credit. It took until 26th December before that credit showed up on the total owing for my December bill due 30th December.

Call 'em. Make 'em give you a refund or credit. And keep doing it every month until these clowns get their infrastructure sound enough to sell more lines to new customers.

AND PUH-LEZE!!! Get their idiot sales people to stop calling me offering fantastic "new" 2-year $79 contracts with up to $660 of free calls per month when they are offering INFINITY plans - what an insult to intelligence!!!!

P!SSED ORF!!!

4032 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is extremily bad service at 27 Dec 2010 05:14:44 PM
Hi
I am so over Vodafone there billing service is a discrace i received a email bill from them saying I owed $15 odd and when I logged on to pay it told me I owed $78.99 and when I sms 1512 it told me another amount. I called the customer diservice section to be placed on hold for 45 minutes to be simply told we are not sure and ill put you through to our billing department.
I spoke to a woman there who said she would look into it and asked for my password (not my 4 digit access pin) but my password and when I refused she said well i cant help you and hung up on me.......
If Vodafone cant look into a billing problem where do we go from here.
As for the service in Fairfield my phone has 1 bar and im told its simply my fault and upgrade the phone. if thats the case I will ask Apple whens the new IPhone 5 coming out. LOL

4025 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is slow internet at 27 Dec 2010 05:13:29 PM
my internet loading time seems to be very slow and considering I'm a new user of a "smart phone" i thought this was the norm - My friend is on another network and has now shown me that on her phone the pages should load quicker.
at first i thought it was the result of using too much of the the internet credit, but when i checked my usage it wasnt the case.
Also i found the use of the navagation device very slow too. I was hoping to use my new "smart phone" as a "navman" but found it took to long to registers where i was at the time.
I thought it was my Nokia x6 - but now it all makes sense.
Oh and one more thought - i was sent a sms to my phone claiming the bill had been emailed to me (it seemed a little over priced) and when i checked my email account ( to work out why the cost of the bill was so high) the bill had not actually been emailed to me.
I think i may need to consider another network - its ashame i'm on this stupid plan for the next 7 months :(

4024 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Compromised Network at 27 Dec 2010 05:13:06 PM
I have observed "glitches", failures to receive messages, failures for messages I have sent to arrive, spam messages, and "faults" that persistently occurred in circumstances that when reviewed carefully suggest that far from being actual network or phone faults that these failures were in fact the product of compromised security and network hacking.

May be difficult for many people to believe, but I feel that the failures and security issues are so comprehensive now that I see others complaining etc., that it should be carefully considered if these issues are really faults/glitches/mistakes or are they "controlled follies" providing cover for extremely serious abuses being performed on the vodaphone network.

The TIO I fear will provide maximum leeway to the vendor and little to the consumer. The vendor will be allowed to drag the resolution out to the absolute limit of their legislated time-frames, and they will not be penalized for turning the process into a farce, or even for executing adverse action against a consumer by continuing to bill in defiance of ombudsman directives. Where there are clear breaches that effect obvious adverse action against the consumer, I have found that the TIO is quick to dismiss the vendors inexcusable conduct as "gross incompetence" (controlled folly cover) without penalizing the vendor.

You can expect a long process through TIO as the industry buddy-buddy relationship has the TIO billing the vendor for their time, and therefore in terms of cashflow there is a carrot on a stick for the TIO to allow compromised processes that drag out needlessly because it's all income to the TIO, making the ombudsman something of a joke after the number of times I heard excuses for the vendor from them. Self regulation is no regulation at all IMO

4013 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is billing at 27 Dec 2010 05:10:53 PM
I only took out a $20 sim only account. My husband took one out on the same day at the same store with the same salesperson. Firstly we asked for our bills to be sent online. For some reason mine arrived in paper and only 2 weeks after I had joined so I figured it was a mistake and didnt pay it. My husband didnt receive one. 2 weeks later I had my phone barred for not paying the $20 bill. My husband still had not received a bill. I had to pay the bill and a reconnection fee. MY husband then got his bill online and was not charged for the time I had my service cancelled for. When we contacted them about it they said we were on different billing cycles yet he has signed up 10 minutes before me from the same store. I had to then go online and change my billing preference myself even though I had never requested a paper account and had paperwork showing this. We also had problems making and receiving calls from the kitchen of our house. We live in northern suburbs of Melbourne not a remote area. I lasted 6 months with them before pulling the pin.

Fortunately I am no longer with Vodafone but still keep getting my phone bill which is in credit. I switched from a plan to a prepaid and had a $30+ credit. I had enough of going some days with 12 hours plus of no coverage (even though they checked their computers and there was nothing wrong with my area) so I switched providers. I asked for a refund of my credit but was told as it was paid via BPay I needed to provide an original of my bank statement showing when it was paid. I told them to get lost, they aren't getting an original of my bank statement which shows my account details and all my transactions. Have been told what to do by the ombudsman but after previous attempts, honestly cant be bothered

I signed up with vodafone about 9 months ago on a 24 month iPhone 3GS $69 plan, first problem I had was with my 1st bill. It's supposed to be $69 a month but I get charged 70.31, i receive SMS from vodafone about my online bill and I have this option switched off in my profile, my 2nd problem was next to no signal if it doesn't lose the network, my 3rd problem is also the billing ATM, I payed my bill online twice without realizing (was tired and it was a few days prior) and it still says I owe them, I know it takes 24 hours for it to go through so I called them after 3 days and had a lady confirm their servers were indeed down and that I have paid a couple months in advance. There was is no online notification at the time unless you phone them, All this is pissing me not to mention not being able to understand the broken English some of vodafones staff speak

3924 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Never fail to disappoint at 27 Dec 2010 04:54:08 PM
As per every Vodafone customer I have experienced the usual call drop outs, reception that resembles calling from a basement and the most unhelpful, painstaking customer service procedures known to man. Of recent I was put through 3 hours of customer service hell. If not for my love for Lara's automated voice I would of given up after 10mins. I had 3 problems,
1. Removing Credit Card Details from a old number and adding same details to existing number.
2. Obtaining pin to access mailbox of previous number.
3. Accessing MyVodafone due to some unbeknown reason the website instructed to contact Vodafone.
After several attempts of trying to speak to an actual operator with no success something happened and I spoke with a human. However this representative was in billing and as Prepaid customer we aren't as important and get the good old transfer trick followed by 30mins of ridiculous music. Retry and on this occasion the individual in billing actually assisted and removed the credit details from old number and solved the voicemail pin issue and solved my girlfriends MyVodafone issue. After ending call I attempted to add my credit details to existing number however I was not able to do this via the handset, the error message advised me to contact my bank as the card details were not correct. Frustrated at this I attempted to contact customer service, several attempts later I spoke with someone after been transferred from billing for been PrePaid. This gentleman advised that he couldn't help as this department was currently closed and was unable to add the card details manually. I was very angry as I had just previously removed the details with another rep. I requested to speak to the previous rep that had assisted me previously and was told that he was not available due to it been outside of his work hours. I then asked to speak with a supervisor and was put on hold, once taken off hold I was told I was getting transferred to someone who could assist but wasn't a supervisor, I wasn't given opportunity to respond. The next rep I was put through to welcomed me and then silence, no response, no call drop out just silence. I believe I was muted, this continued for 30mins before I ended the call. My next attempt after several in between the operator told me I was unable to add my card details which I just removed from previous number because I had no available funds, apparently you require $1 which is refunded to you at a later date to register card details. They don't advise this in the call however somewhere in some terms and conditions this is stated. I was furious as you could imagine. Vodafone constant lack of help and the rudeness of operators has got to stop. Anyone who has experienced the automated voice of Lara has an idea of what we all have to endure. Its like they will do anything to not actually allow you to speak to a human. Class action is more than necessary.

i had put up with vodafone for 2years plus. singed into a 24 month contract.
I had absolute terrible reception mosttimes having to walk outside of any building to make a call. all other networks worked in side those buildings. further more it was ALWAYS hard to hold a conversation as the line would break up stutter and drop in and out. Customer service from vodafone is the worst i have ever come across, i have been on hold for hours at a time. I was still getting billed once i discontinued service from them.
I changed providers and it has changed my mobile world, I don't know why i didn't do it sooner....

I have 3 numbers with voda and have got accustomed to the bad reception and lack of service in store with any questions.

But recently one of my contacts had expired so i needed to notify voda that i wanted it terminated. 1 in store visit and 3 daily calls later
I called keyed in all my info joined the que. was told 35 min was the eta to wait. then after 40 min my phone cut out.

the next day i tried again but this time using the option to get a call back from voda. all i got was a voicemail saying i had missed there call

day 3 after 1.5 hours on the phone and talking to 3 different people who i gave all my info to every time and said they all could help with my simple request of closing the account i finally got put threw to someone who could action this very simple request but then tried to sell me a wireless internet card at which point i express my disappointment and frustration.

This was finally done but i had to wait another month as they had gone over the bill cycle at this stage 4 days after i first attempted to cancel this number

I am tired of Vodaphone and other large telcos stealing my unused prepay funds by not recharging by the due date. In my case I lost $75. keep recharging or loose all the accumulated free call times. The catch is even tho you have plenty of credit if you dont recharge by the due date you lose all. This is equivalent to old fashioned highwaymen. They are stealing our money. We could have text reminders recharge at least. At most the money we spend is ours and account recharge periods should be at least 6 months. Why not ? ? ? the answer is of course that it serves them to maintain the current system Vodaphone prepay customers forfeit millions. They steal just like the big banks do. Its a corporate disgrace and lacks business integrity.

I have a $79 plan with Vodafone.
I was using my phone heavily due to a family incident.
I regularly tried to check the account balance on 1512.
The service "was temporarily unavailable call back later".
So I did call/sms and then try getting to speak to a human - who eventually conceeded the service had failed and was out of order for at least a week.
She referred me to the online web site and I could check it there.
I asked how can that be so if you cannot access it and help me - she said it works.
Two hours later trying online - and smsing the 1512 number - still "out of order".
Eventually after another week I started getting your service is abnormal please check your account usage by contacting us, using 1512 or checking online.
Still no access, no help.
I stopped using it.
Called the vodafone help line who said they could not help me as the balance and usage system was unavailable.
Funny 2 days later my bill was generated with a $432 bill for excessive usage.
When i called "customer service" and ended up speaking to a supervisor she said "you used it, you pay, or we will place it in the hands of a debt collector".
Being upset I wrote a letter and explained the situation and the lengths that I went to manage the situation.
Despite the letter with the detailed explanation I got a letter back "thanks for your recent letter, you used this amount of service so you are required to pay".
Thanks Vodafail.

I signed up for a 24 month contract with Vodafone through Crazy Johns. Both companies have proved to be joke of an organisation. After ample problems with my mobile from the very beginning including:

-short battery life
-no reception
-dropping out of internet and applications every day!
- no reply when I message the balance account number
-they set up to automatically pay my phone bill from my bank account even though I certainly did NOT authorise this, therefore I would pay for my bill and they would take the money out of my account and therefore taking double the payment. They also denied activating this without my permission.
-constant problems with my phone, I have spent so much wasted time and money both on the phone and in the store to this company.
-I was advised by staff members both in Vodafone and Crazy Johns stores in Penrith to pretend to "lose" my phone and then claim it on insurance in order to get a brand new phone. Therefore they advised me to commit fraud.
-After a constant battle with vodafone over the unsatisfactory quality of my mobile phone I sent it in again to be fixed. they then sent it back and said it had liquid damage and that I need to pay for a new phone. I look after my phone very thoroughly and never spilt liquid on it or anything close. They said they would email me the photographic evidence, an email which of course was never sent to me. After I contacted them numerous times to have this email sent to me, it still never was. my phone has since run out of warranty and I am too bloody tired of all this crap to keep chasing it up.

I am so tired of this constant battle with these companies. I will never be returning to Vodafone's service after my contract is complete and I am advising my friends and family to do the same.

I have had no 3G coverage for about 3 weeks now in Gungahlin area and all over Canberra.. I thought it was my phone. I contacted Vodafone and waited 90mins for me to speak to someone.. Just to tell me how to switch 3G off my phone and I could make and receive calls. With this function now switched off! I have unlimited and rely on this phone for work and personal calls.. I visited a local vodafail store on christmas eve wanting to cancel my account and they said that they could not process this.. That I had to call disconnections and I said..what another 90 min wait on the phone!! I am so over it.... also my mobile broadband is due to expire next month and I am disconnecting that too.... this is flamin' ridiculous! The sales person at Vodafone also said the 3G failure was widespread over Canberra and they have had no response to their emails to the company! Go figure...

3664 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Lost a 12 year customer! at 27 Dec 2010 04:27:38 PM
I have been with Vodafone since 1998.

I have been pretty happy (obviously).

Since I signed my last contract in June 2008 I have had non-stop issues with Vodafone.

First it was billing issues, and now it is constant dropped calls and poor reception.

I have been living at my current address for 5 years and had no issues, in the last month or more I have had next to no reception, and on some days I cannot even get ANY reception.

I'm also so F'in sick of Lara - "she" needs to be taken out back and put to sleep! I'm sure the boffins and marketing "gurus" at Vodafone think she "humanises" the customer service experience.... I'd prefer to have to go 10 menus deep selecting from up to nine numbers at each level than listen to her false "chirpy, friendly, ever so (NOT) helpful "voice"".

I had Christmas SMS messages I sent to friends that were received on the 27th!!! EXPRESS POST letters would get there quicker!!!

Considering their network cannot handle the voice/data needs of existing customers Vodafone should be BANNED from acquiring new customers until they can properly provide for their existing users.
27 Dec 2010 04:29:37 PM: Oppps - that was meant to be June 2009...

I cannot wait until June 2011 comes round... I will take much pleasure in informing Vodafone I will never be a customer of theirs again!!
27 Dec 2010 04:32:56 PM: Just signed up for the lawsuit... I am usually against such trawling for lawyers fees, but Vodafone deserve it, I'll give the lawyers 100 percent of any damages they win - just on the principle of showing Vodafone they suck sweaty, smell, hairy nuts

FOR FUCK SAKE employ some god damn aussies so some goddam aussies can answer our questons in plain simple english..

3653 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Bad - but recoverable at 27 Dec 2010 04:26:20 PM
2 year contract with 16 months left, living on Bribie Island, QLD. We can go for days with no service. When we get service it is zero to all bars, varying by the minute, most times, no 3G at home mst times so use WiFi all the time at home which I did not need to do with Optus.

Given up trying to talk to the Indians several times without success as even after an hour wait, no answer, I don't have that sort of time.

I have access to 2 x Nokia and 1 x Huawei smart phones, all with the same problems so it is not the phones. I am in the industry and know that their cell site is badly designed and there is not enough equipment to handle the traffic. We are approx 500m line of sight from the cell site.

Fortunately I send most of my time away from home and most times, the service is OK as I am overseas. If only Vodafone's Australian network was as good as their NZ network.

My wife is on Telstra, no problems, Optus was not brilliant but OK, Vodafone sucks.

I have had no billing problems and their shop in Morayfield was excellent but one of their shop in Chermside was the pits, 1 1/2 hours to open an account???

3651 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is bad service, incorrect billing, dropping out, terrible internet connection at 27 Dec 2010 04:26:18 PM
i have been with vodaphone for over 9 yrs. i was going to change to telstra at the end of my last contract but vodaphone gave me a deal i was happy with. this is where it ends. every bill since has billed me over $160 over my cap. in all the years i've been with them i've been over maybe 6 times. i call 1512 regulary to make sure i'm not over but with my last bill on the 28th november it told me i had $40 credit. On my bill statement it starts charging me as of that day. Even though i didn't use my phone much they are telling me i used grossly over my cap over the next couple of days. i had $4 credit today, made 1 call in which went to message bank so i hung up straight away. My credit now goes down to $2. Then it drops out all the time so they charge you another '$1.15' straight up to remake the call. Then there is the internet. Most of the time i can't get on. Then there is the fact i can't understand what customer service is saying to try and rectify my problems. Waiting in line up at vodaphone at the hyperdome qld for 2 hrs with a 3 yr old,8 mths pregnant to find out the guy couldn't help me, i have to talk to someone i don't understand in India.

I received a letter from debt collectors saying I owed Vodafone money for an account I never knew I had. It took over 3 months and god only knows how many calls to get through to Vodafone. As far as I was able to find out, it was a computer problem that made another account when I resigned up to my mobile broadband plan. In the end Vodafone sent me a letter informing me that my name was used in fraud and that I didn't own them anything. They never gave me anything for the pain I went through with the debt collectors (they had hired) and with Vodafone. If anyone wishes to resign up with Vodafone, do it in store!!!

3606 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Severe! at 27 Dec 2010 04:23:36 PM
My phone is fine but my internet is TERRIBLE!

I log in and within about a minute it drops out. I log back in and it's not long that it drops out again. I was told I had great coverage but even when I log on it usualy says the connection is 'poor' and even 'very poor'. Oh my GOD - it just dropped out while I was typing this!

I sent an email enquiry regarding this to vodafone and I received a reply approximately a week later saying they assumed, given the time frame, that I had probably resolved the problem myself and to reply to the email only if I was still having troubles!

Reply I did - I expressed my shock that they would assume their customers would solve their connections problems themselves. I also told them that the only solution I'd come up with myself was to change internet providers! I received a reply apologising and promising 2 months free internet and a cr on my account. Well..I recently received the bill...there was no cr and no 2 months free.

My internet just dropped out AGAIN! Oh ...and again! I better send this before it goes again!

3494 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is they don't care about there service at 27 Dec 2010 04:15:20 PM
I have two phones through vodafone and spend about 250 to $270 a month with them one month they sent me a bill for $500 I thought it must be because I did not pay my bill on time on there system the next month it was even more $1000+ they started sending me letters that I must pay or have my service cut off, I am very busy but had to ring them to see what was going on they told me that my unlimited plan was limited which pissed me off, but there was still no reason for the bills to be so high I spent two days on the phone trying to sort it out instead of running my business and earning money I was talking to people who couldn't care less about the issue at hand.
I ended up speaking to someone in head office in Sydney I think they worked out that my blackberry was connected to the net the whole time which it is supposed to be but they where billing me for each minute when there not supposed to.
There service is crap and let's me down on a daily bases it is so consistently crap I am totally used to it now.
Thanks to who set this site up and letting me have a whinge.

After waiting for long periods of time on the phone only to have a new password sent that still did not work. A second password sent within one minute also did not work. I have now given up and will be taking my business elsewhere. I have been with Vodafone for many years without many issues but the last few months have been painfull enough to make me change providers.

3487 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is in need or a major upgrade.. at 27 Dec 2010 04:14:56 PM
I waited over 3 hours in total of a 6.5 hr phone call. And was then bounced around from wrong department to wrong department (OZ to India & around again). Let's start at the beginning.

I was with 3 mobile broadband and had horrible internet connections with them. So when they started merging they suggested I move to Vodafone because they offered more data for the same price. It started out ok but soon went down hill. I was promised a month free and a free modem. Modem arrived it went well. Then it slowed to a crawl. I rang them. They said there system had started charging me from the first month of the billing cycle, as if I had used 8Gb in a second and then proceeded to charge me above the cap price. I was assured he would ring me back at the end of the month and that my account would be placed into high priority and would be resolved asap.

Well no phone call, but they did leave a voicemail supposedly on my mobile broadband modem! How am I supposed to listen to that? They have my mobile number and they know this is an internet connection. No bill either. SO I contacted them again. Was promised another free month for my pain etc. Soon after the modem stopped connecting to the net at all. Again called same thing, sorry sir, blah blah blah. Worked again but now the connection metre says 4 bars constantly buy 0 data comes through. I have to refresh 6 or more times to get anything to load.

I called again and this was the 6.5 hour call I referred to at the start. Again things were promised and nothing has ever been done. I was then sent two bills totalling $190 odd for the first two months that were supposed to be FREE months.. Not bad VF..

So here we are now. I know the towers are being upgraded in our area "soon" but that does not excuse the poor billing and customer service.

I used Vodafone mobile internet, and after three months of having only about two hours a day where I could actually get a connection to the internet, and hours spent waiting on the phone, I can canceled my service. I asked them to email me my last bill, because I can't access it any other way (since my MyVodafone account was also canceled) and they didn't email me anything. Now they're trying to charge me a late bill fee!

3413 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is What was I thinking??? at 27 Dec 2010 04:09:46 PM
Continual loss of service in various Brisbane metropolitan areas, phone calls dropping out, internet usage on phone incredibly slow or non existent due to no coverage,(I dont even bother using it now), once again in most Brisbane metropolitan areas where I should have coverage. Whilst living at Graceville I didnt have service in most of the rooms in my house apart from the back deck while I stood on a railing. Have missed numerous texts of importance only to find out they had been sent several days previously. They convinced me to enter a new contract and recommended a Sony ericsson xperia over the iphone4 that I wanted, (most of my friends have them in either the telstra or optus networks and experience no problems). Its the worst phone Ive ever had, but they offered me my first three monthly bills for free So I stupidly took it. Then of course they continued billing me until I complained. Now stuck with a rubbish phone, with terrible coverage for calls, texts and especially internet for the next 2 years!!!! Previously had vodaphone wireless USB broadband but gave me no service when I lived in a inner city Brisbane suburb, had to sign with another provider for internet. Incredibly frustrating calls to customer service with people who I either cant understand or they cant understand me. Have been a customer for over 10 years and its never been as bad as it is now!

3390 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Customer Service or Lack Of! at 27 Dec 2010 04:08:09 PM
I was unsatisfied with Vodafones mobile reception and when my contract finished promptly switched to Optus. Now my internet plan has finished I can not seem to talk to someone to close my account.
I was on hold for 13 minutes before a customer service operator from some off-shore call centre answered my call, when they found out the reason for my call I was transfered to the 'cancellation department' 1 hour and 30 minutes later I was still on hold, giving up I tried the number again and spoke with a customer service operator. They informed me someone from the cancellation department will call me in 24 - 36 hours that was 6 days ago.
This sort of service is shocking, not to mention my internet reception problem, I am paying for a fast connection but am getting a slower than dial-up speed connection.
I have spoken to someone about this and they blame it on the merge between 3 and Vodafone, that was in January, it has only gotten worse!
I would happily join a class action and voice my concerns and request compensation for not acually getting the service I sugned up for. Shame on Vodafone!

3385 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Doesn't work and don't want to fix it at 27 Dec 2010 04:08:00 PM
Vodafone's SMTP server is broken for over 4 months and no plans to fix it, and they tell me all I can do is to keep calling them each day (and wait on hold for 1-2 hour before they pick up) and continue to be told "we still don't know". Store staff refuse to help with tech support as the wait is too long for vodafone's technical assistance and they have other things to do. Billing is incorrect each month and I'm charged excess use fees even though I'm still under my cap, after 3 people acknowledge the problem and fail to fix it, the fourth says the problem doesn't exist and I imagined my conversations with the previous 3 support agents as they have no record of it.

After I involved the TIO they released me from my contract and waived remaining bills if I leave the same day, admitting they cannot provide the service they advertised due to network issues. I'm now with Telstra who give me consistently strong signal, fast performance and I can even send emails again.

3380 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is deceptive service and unreliable at 27 Dec 2010 04:07:43 PM
In the last three months I beleive i have had to make three connections at least to complete one short call at a time due to constant drop outs. Text messages are arriving sometimes one day after friends sent them. Missed many social activities and caused disarray with family re: children pick ups etc: Why are we expected to foot bills on time for a service that vodafone itself will not address. I am sure the bad pr will hurt them long term and why have they not allowed consumers to cancel plans or offer free service untill correction of network. Shame on you vodafone for using your consumers as a research and development experiment with your hardware and software issue's at our cost. You should be held accountable for the true cost to your consumers including the grief and frustration of getting concise answers from your staff.

3375 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Ultrafail at 27 Dec 2010 04:07:09 PM
Back in August I rang up Vodafone to pay my bill with Visa. Voda took a double payment of $127, and refused to take the hold off the second payment. When I went into the store, they first said they couldn't do anything, and then said if I wanted to contact Voda directly, to expect an hour on hold at least. Two weeks later the BANK released the hold on my account.

To avoid this again, I decided to pay at the post office. I went into the store again to complain that my service had been disconnected. Apparently it takes two weeks for Australia Post payments to clear, and I shouldn't bother calling again.

If I call Vodafone directly from the SIM, I'm still told I need to have the phone number. Of course I don't know the phone number, it's a mobile broadband account. Sometimes I don't always have access to my bills (such as if I'm at work), and then I'm told they can't do anything.

My service sometimes drops out in the city, and I can't get 3G coverage in Mount Gambier or Warrnambool. I can get GPRS but it consistantly drops out.

My mobile reception in South Yarra 2km from Melbourne's CBD drops out every day... People constantly tell me that they call and my iPhone goes directly to voice mail, if I drive anywhere more than 15km from CBD my reception drops out. Also they have over billed me and one time they sent me a letter saying that they didn't bill me for the previous month so I would be double billed in my next billing schedule.

If I try to call customer service I am re-directed to an off-shore company that doesn't understand anything I a saying.

Why should I pay $200per month for a phone that only has reception 75% of the day?

I phoned three times wasting over an hour to have my account rectified. havnt bought on a plan for years and was supposed to be charged half price for the first 12 months.. After having some overseas operator assist me I still have not been charged correctly. The adjustment is wrong. Does this mean that I spend another hour to have a $15 credit reinstated or just donate to Voda phone coffers. Hey Another small company LEBARA is excellent. Cheap overseas calls and $10 recharge last three months. Vodaphone like the other big telcos are so arrogant. The service simply sucks.

Cuts out randomly, voice messages and txt's coming thru 3 hours late. I've lost business and I am sick and tired of the excuses. I've called the call centre several times and although have been great they simply have no idea of the simple problems at hand. Typical responses, "take the sim card out, have you got coverage on your mobile..." I'm sick and tired of it I want out..!! To cap it all off I was somehow mistakenly placed on outgoing bar for paying my account twice by accident, so I was in credit but to explain this to someone took 3-4 hours of my time, then they bar all my business services....and I could not make any outgoing calls to my fleet...Finally the response I got was that they had made an error and could not understand how the billing system barred my services..well I can understand because I'll be barring voda real soon.

3303 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is How Fail Is It? It's Fraud. at 27 Dec 2010 03:52:41 PM
I have many complaints as a 1/2 year contract holder to share with you all today, how lovely this company really is.

I am 20 Male from Country W.A I was signed into a Contract with Vodafone without them checking I had a job in the first place (I don't work and my parents have to pay my Bill) so they gave me a contract I myself had no income to pay but that was fine. This was my first problem, I was pretty much TALKED INTO a contract when I went into buy a PREPAID Handset and the sales person from ARMADALE W.A talked me into it so I went with it not knowing how I was going to pay for it, they apparently ran a Credit Check and some how I was earning money when I never had a job for the past 4 years? I still have a another 11 sad months ahead on my $114.00 contract.

The next problem I had was constant Service Drop outs some times days without reception, I would ring up and get Notes applied to my account and sometimes was offered a credit for not being able to use my Unlimited Cap Plan of $114.00 a month I can't even pay yet they gave me the contract LOL?

The next problem I then had was, more constant network interference slow data speeds on GSM and on 3G. Recently I had 3x Days in December without network coverage here, I rung customer support and sat on the phone for 3 hours at the Minimum trying to get through to these people to complain and get a credit applied to my account for the inconsistence (What happens if my car broke down or I was bitten by a snake working on the farm) I had no phone to use and no service which is a service I pay for each month. The next thing I was told that a $50.00 credit would be applie to my January 6th 2011 Bill and even recieved a Text Message from 1555 Saying it was applied (THIS IS YET TO HAPPEN) I then waited a day and still no phone service and I got a call from a foreign lady I spoke with yesterday saying due to my 3x days network outage my bill of $117.19 would be wavered and paid this month due 6th January 2011. I still owe this money and no credits have been applied to my account. They pretty much lied to me in person and yet I still have poor service. I feel so low in the dumps with this service I sat here and cried last week and asked how much it was to cancel the contract I couldn't even afford to pay in the first place it was like $1,000+ to cancel it as I have 11 months left finishing on the 11th November 2011 which is painful for someone who has no job or full time work.

I also have another problem with Vodafone AU the list goes on, this time something that says "!@#$ Off" in my opinion... They Vodafone AU shut down my nearest Vodafone Retail Store which was in Armadale where I got my Plan Contract from, they just shut the doors so now instead of driving 230 Kilometers to go to a Store I now need to drive 265 to the nearest in Cannington Carousel shopping centre, to me this says "WE DON'T WANT YOUR BUSINESS" And it was the nearest store for all COUNTRY W.A Citizens to visit!

Another problem is, Vodafone recently joined partners with 3 Hutchinson Australia!? VODAFONE NEVER SENT OUT INFORMATION, OR ADVISED CONTRACT PERSON/S ME AND 4 OF MY FRIENDS of the joining partnership this was done behind customers backs and not mentioned until it was DONE!

My LAST Painful complaint is my Christmas Present for 2010. My mobile phone broke a week ago and my parents got me a Nokia C3 Graphite Handset ADVERTISED TO HAVE WORKING WI-FI Connection, after exchanging the handset 3x times before Xmas Eve I could NOT get a working handset and had to travel 100 Kilometers each day for 3x days to keep returning the handset! THE HANDSET IS FAULTY Nokia know about the WI-FI Problem and Nokia have released a 7.20 Firmware Update whilst Vodafone have only released up to 4.65 Firmware for the HANDSET Which means THE WIFI STILL DOES NOT WORK But Vodafone are selling these handsets at $99.00 with WIFI! I tried 3x handsets and after trying 3 and travelling 300+ Kilometers a 54 Kilometer trip each way I was offered NO REFUND By Woolworth but to have the handset sent away!

GOOGLE SEARCH Nokia C3 WiFi problems, THE HANDSETS ARE BEING SOLD FAULTY AND VODAFONE OFFER NO CURRENT 7.20 FIRMWARE UPDATE TO FIX THE PROBLEM! 100% FALSE ADVERTISING AND SCAM I AM SICK OF THIS SHIT AND SERIOUSLY THINK THERE MUST BE A WAY TO GET OUT OF CONTRACT WITHOUT PAYING FOR THE CRAP! I feel suicidal, I can't even pay for the contract but was given one at the drop of a hat without even checking I had full time work to start with!

SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE SPECIALLY WITH THE SELLING OF FAULTY HANDSETS ADVERTISED TO HAVE WIFI CONNECTIVTY BUT NO SOFTWARE RELEASED TO RESOLVE PROBLEMS ON A LOCKED AND VODAFONE BRANDED HANDSET!

FURIOUS AND HAD ENOUGH SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE AND FAST!

27 Dec 2010 04:03:11 PM: yep, pretty sure he'd just make up a massive wall of text post because he's bored. congratulations on your astute observation mr vodafone employee!
29 Dec 2010 04:29:50 PM: wat a freakin essay,,do u expect us to read this crap.
30 Dec 2010 03:36:13 PM: I don't work for Vodafone I don't think Vodafone has any stores in WAGIN Thanks.
30 Dec 2010 03:38:27 PM: If I didn't have these problems and I have video And audio recordings of my problems I wouldn't have wasted my time signing up to the Class Action and posting here and typing up my problems. Thanks very much you can see all of this for yourself just use Goog|e in regards to Faulty C3 Handsets and even the shop in Armadale being shut down. Kudos to you x

got signed up for a pre-payed account when I was 14 under my dads details due to vodafone demanding because I was under age. after years of multiple issues with them and and having to contact my father to ring them each time there was an issue, I decided to change the owner to my name. They refused to change my details claiming "pre-payed accounts cant be changed", and refused to fix any of my problems. late msgs, thats if they even turned up at all, multiple drop out calls, bugger all reception. Got out and went to 3....now they've bloody merged. grrrr...
cant even think of 1 good thing to say about vodafone

I have many complaints as a 1/2 year contract holder to share with you all today, how lovely this company really is. Thought I was making the right move from Telstra (I have notes on my phone account of many complaints about network out ages happening all to often please help me and speak out)

I am 20 Male from Country W.A I was signed into a Contract with Vodafone without them checking I had a job in the first place (I don't work and my parents have to pay my Bill) so they gave me a contract I myself had no income to pay but that was fine. 3249 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Overbilling at 27 Dec 2010 03:46:06 PM
I have been overbilled by vodaphone, to the tune of $1253, charges applied over and above the agreed cap which I signed up to. I can't afford legal advice so I am paying it off at an agreed amount each fortnight. This is an example of how companies like this take advantage of those at the lower end of the market

Ive had my post paid account for 2 months now, I wish I never signed up for a 12month contract. From day 1 Ive had limited reception to NO reception. My 3G internet was non existent inside or if I ever managed to get it at all it was painfully slow. Over the past 2 weeks though it has just been a nightmare. Constant NO Signals, searchingggggg searchingggggg for a carrier, no internet, MMS taking days to go through, voicemail showing up hours or days later, blah blah, just the same as everyone else.
The only good thing about Vodafone at the moment is my prepaid USB wireless modem for my laptop and that it lets me use it for FREE! without having to recharge because it has trouble with the APN and network settings.
I would be happy with a 2 month credit on my account being the time that Ive had problems from, I dont think thats asking for too much.

3192 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is No Service at 27 Dec 2010 03:39:13 PM
My sister is with Vodaphone. There have been days where I have tried to call her and it goes to message bank and in some instances I have gotten a message to say that the phone service doesnt exist. In these instances have had to ring her on the land line to tell her (but of course she is out so nothing can be done until she comes back home). She found the best way to resolve her issue was to go into the Vodaphone shop where she bought her phone, and be in their face. The first time it happened she was told she didnt pay her account so she had to prove she paid it 5 days before it was due. From then on she knows what to do when it happens. However to this day she never receives mms's! On a good note (yes there is only one) when our mum was in hospital she was able to make calls while in the emergency ward to tell me she was there but when I got there I couldnt ring my family to give them an update & I'm with Telstra - go figure...

They cannot give accurate billing charges on a timely basis . i.e. within a 24 hr period and charges do not correlate with actual usage. Their accounting system is shot ! On their automated balance inquiry number they state you are overdue and owe money when in fact you don't! I changed to Vodafone 4 months ago and it is the worst choice I ever made. The call support team do not understand problems and are unable to provide a solution and you cant wait up to 30mins for a call to be answered or they tell you they are to busy and they will call you back after in after 30mins .Try 6 hours at 2:30am in the morning when you are asleep. No clue at all!! I have already had one complaint under the TIO which I found the result far from satisfactory but was at my wits end so gave up, but it looks like I will be heading down that track again very soon!!

27 Dec 2010 03:49:43 PM: Why did you enter in to a contract? YOU knew you couldn't afford it. I bought Pre-Paid mobile PRECISELY because I knew I couldn't afford a plan. I have complained about Vodaphone for it's services but they are not financial nannies!
29 Dec 2010 04:39:07 PM: first of all, you sound like a bloody idiot, secondly..in regards to the firmware you can download this directly from the nokia website..it is not vodafone that creates or provides the firmware,,also.why the hell did you sign a contract if you aint got no money...get a freakin job...and stop whinging..it is your fault for going into a contract that you cant afford..how is that remotely vodafones fault?!!!! the way i see it, ur just trying to create drama so you can get out of the contract for free..
30 Dec 2010 03:42:12 PM: Nokia OVI Suite says there is a 7.20 Firmware update you loser, and guess what it's up to providers to release the 7.20 Firmware based on the carrier and its Splash Screens and own Firmware/Bloatware they add into the handsets. Vodafone have released 3x Firmware updates up until 4.65 but no 7.20 which fixes the problem yet. You are obviously a TROLL and a Noob. There is no work out here in the country and LEARN: HOWTO - Use Nokia Ovi Store and how the updates actually work. You can't update a VODAFONE BRANDED Phone to generic Nokia C3 Firmware even if it's UNLOCKED because it has a ROM ID that is Vodafones that can not be updated until Vodafone release the software as a carrier for the handset you fucking noob.

Wake Up, Ok thanks X

here is a transcript of my email complaint to which has not been resolved.

13th november called customer care regarding my newly issued iPhone 4, after speaking with three members of customer care and the loyalty team i finally got put through to Shrapna who was argumentative for most of the 50 minute phone call.
she refused the fact that it was a new phone and stated that i would have to bare the cost of any repairs for a 7 day old phone.
i would appreciate a call regarding a solution to this matter.

oops, forgot to pay a bill on time. Had call-barring activated on my phone. Shame on me. Paid bill, call-barring wasn't lifted during the day. Tried to ring a few times but my calls weren't answered when I finally got the ringing tone (twice), Popped into a Voda store and asked if/when call-barring would be lifted. The dude said it would automatically be lifted at midnight. Next morning (Christmas eve) phone still had call-barring. Tried ringing Voda again, more dropped help line calls. Christmas Day rolls around, and I've still got call-barring activated. Can't make calls or send SMSs to loved ones. Thanks Vodafone. I really appreciate that. Seems that paying for a premium Vodafone account doesn't come with premium service.

We are a small company in Canberra and we were contacted and convinced 2 years ago by a Vodafone salesperson to move all of our mobiles over to a more cost effective group account. We initially told the salesperson that coverage is not suitable for us because we need support for people travelling interstate and into regional areas. However, the salesperson convinced us that within 3 months that the Vodafone network was undergoing a major upgrade and that coverage would be even better than their competitors. We have finally moved back to Telstra - we fell for the oldest trick in the book. Before the move back we even struggled with suitable coverage with Vodafone even in our office located in central Canberra.

I have sent a letter to Consumer affairs due to Vodafone's failure to respond to my emails and failed telephone calls. Last September I received a pocket wifi which wouldn't work in my area. I returned it within a few days after Vodafone failed to pick it up. I'm still being billed monthly for it. I've also got poor reception for my Vodafone iPhone, I cannot download and use applications.

My contract expired with vodafone 6 to 8 months ago and they sent me a txt message to alert me that I needed to renew my contract. I was also told that I would receive a "phone upgrade" as I was such a loyal customer. I received a new IPhhone 4 and slim sim card and there began my problems. My fiance works in Papua New Guinea and the new phone would not let me send txt messages to him and calling all the time added extra charges to my $79 cap. At least 20 phone calls later I finally spoke with an Australian Customer Service operator who said that I could send the phone back and when she received it they would cancel my contract and get me to sign up again so I could get a new Nokia Phone. Well I am still waiting and every time I call Customer Service and get an Indian I go spare. NO ONE can tell me if they received the phone back, no one can tell me the details of my phone call with the Australian girl. It is the biggest joke and I am now stuck in a new 2 year contract with Vodafail and NO ONE can help me. I have my old phone, crap service and to top it all off they keep sending me txt messages to say I havn't paid my bills which when I check my bank the money has been direct debited from my account. So as far as "SERVICE" goes, Vodafone does not comply. I hope they go down in a big way.

3019 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Data very slow and stops at 27 Dec 2010 03:16:13 PM
I just signed to a two year contract giving me 2Gb per month and now I find the service is unusable and only managed to use 100Mb in a month because 97% of the time it is so slow and stops downloading. I'm asking for my money back, so far no response from Vodafone, they just keep billing me.
