Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

as vodafone customers of 12 years or more, we have found the service to be really disgusting in regards to coverage within country areas and sometimes you do not have to be in a country area, we had spent a week in the town of 1770 for a holiday , as to our disgust we had no service in the 1770 area now this is a coastal town where you would expect phone coverage as optus and telstra had coverage as w had friends that were in the same caravan park and they had reception as we never. even when we had travelled from 1770 to gladstone for a day outing we still had no coverage with our vodafone service if you could call it service, we have even been driving on the sunshine coast in between Nambour and Maroochydore and have been having a conversation and the service would drop out and mind to say that is still doing this to this day.

About two months ago, I paid my account and i had over paid the account by $1700 by the slip of a finger and pushing the wrong number when confirming details via the bpay system, once i had realised what i had done, i ieadiately started to panick I then contacted the Vodafone customer service and what do you know there was no helpful service, what ever happened to keeping the customer happy. I had explained what had happened to the customer service member and they had told me to contact my bank, so I did this immeadiately and my banking institution Replied back to me that once the transaction takes place via bpay that they are not ab;e to stop the transaction from going through and they then proceeded to say to contact Vodafone back and request that the overpayment be reimbursed back to us.

So as you would expect i returned the call back to Vodafone, they then proceeded to tell me that they could not put the money back into the account as it would take 24 - 48 hrs to do this, but before this could happen I would need to fax the vodafone office a copy of our Bank statement to show that the money had definiately had came from our account, I then explained to them that our Bank statements only came every quarter and it was only the beginning of the quarter as it was september and we would not recieve a bank statement for another 2- 3 months and that it was a weekend as it was a friday that i had overpaided the account, but to no avail they were not going to help with this situation. so on an unhappy note to the end of the conversation with the vodafone customer service i explained that i was not happy with theyre explaination as to why they could not pay our money back into our bank account even when i was able to,provide them with all of the relevant banking details as to what account the money had come out of and our vodafone details as to our vodafone account details they still did not budge from the fact that they wanted the bank statement faxed to them.

my next few words with them was that i was going to take it the the Telecommunications ombudsman, of our state, they still did not budge but the next day my husband had recieved a phone call from vodafone and they had said that they would be sending a bank cheque to us for the overpayment and this would take any where from 2 - 5 working business days to acheive even though we had paid it by bpay we still had to wait for the cheque. It then proceeded to be a further 3 weeks before we had recieved the cheque from vodafone.

we then proceeded about 8-10 weeks ago we had requested for our contract to be cancelled as we where not happy with the service provided by vodafone we have a short time left with vodafone on our contracts and we are wishing to have them cancelled, and as you can imagine we are still waiting to hear back from vodafone in regards to our contracts as they were having to do an investigation into our allegations against them as a provider of our service, which there is no service from vodafone if anyone was to ask me about the vodafone service i would be saying to them to really think long and hard about going with the company vodafone before they sign a contract with them. as you can see we have not had a great experience with vodafonein the 10 - 12 years that we have had our 2 mobile phones with them. signed disgruntelled vodafone customer

I check my account balance on 23Dec, and I found I has been charged $650+ on internet for no reason. Called Vodafone 1555, they just bar the internet for me and ask me take the phone to store to do a checking. After I take the phone to Vodafone store, a staff checked phone for me, but he was unable to find the problem. He called Vodafone support line after 30+ mins hold, still can't solve the problem. I was told I must keep my internet on mobile phone bared until the current bill cycle been finished, then they will re-calculate my bill. I CAN'T USE MY INTERNET NOW!! VERY BAD!!

just migrated from 3 to vodafone just 3 weeks ago and i regret it. vodafone is the worst provider i have ever experienced. activation sim card takes 5 days, account balance error, not reflecting real usage, always takes 40 minutes for customer service to answer my call and when they do they said to me they will get back to me in 2 minutes but never did. my account balance still in error and vodafone offered me no solution. thank good it's only 12 months contract. i am impatiently counting the days, i cant wait for this contract to end so that i can terminate it
28 Dec 2010 01:07:37 AM: i hate to tell you this but we had taken our iphone back to vodafone for it to be sent for a warranty issue and quess where they sent it to ut not a vodafone repair place it went to 3 so they are linked within the companys otherwise why did they send it to 3 if they are not sister companys. sorry
28 Dec 2010 07:00:33 AM: They have joined together earlier in the year. Also an iphone should only be going to apple for warranty issues. You've been jibbed.

5588 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is EPIC at 27 Dec 2010 11:14:49 PM
I am a 3 customer and after years being with the company, it has gone from bad, to worse... I upgraded my LG handset to an LG Viewty and immediatly noticed the difference in coverage, calls dropping and the Internet working less than half of the time, in places it previously had worked. I contacted 3 to complain and let them know how bad the new phone was. I went to the store and they could not exchange as they were out of stock.. After being on the phone for hours the service I got was horrible. I never returned my phone in the end (they made the experience so bad I just put up with it). I have since upgraded again with a new phone number so now have 2x $29 caps and the new Iphone4, and have to say the Internet on there is still dropping out (SICK OF READING 'COULD NOT ACTIVATE CELLULAR NETWORK!!!) In my time I have spent countless hours on the phone always falling on deaf ears, I once spent an HOUR AND HALF on hold waiting to get through to an operator!! I even had a sleep while waiting with the phone resting on my ear!! SICK OF EVERYTIME I CALL THE MESSAGE AT THE START- 'DUE TO THE RELEASE OF THE NEW IPHONE4 WE ARE EXPERIENCING A LARGE CALL VOLUME AND DELAYED WAITS MAY OCCUR!!!) well that message has been on the system for over 6 months now, just hire more f*#kn people!! Everytime a credit is arranged for my account, it never EVER happens, after it has been promised to me, so then I need to explain everything again and why I was receiving a credit and makes me feel like a liar.. I could go on all day and into the night about the problems I have had, most of all the coverage is horrible!! I work in home consultations in a new job, and while my boss was on the phone to my customer closing a deal, the phone dropped out 3 times, which im sure helped lead to the sale falling through (thats $1000 commission less in my pocket!!! THANKS FOR NOTHING 3!!!! (save the paper weight I carry around everyday!!) Jacob B

No mobile data for 2 days error msg 'unable to connect to server', haven't been able to make outgoing calls or sms for same period error msg 'call barring activated on service/account' - checked settings on ph. definitely not by me. Thinking problem would be rectified asap I put up with until rang '1555' (can only call Voda) 5pm this arv left msg for callback still waiting 12mn. Been fighting 2+mths for call credits to be applied - everytime I ring to ? I get a new excuse or fobbed off - nobody ever records customer call notes - this dates back to deal advertised at time/promises that influenced me to change network to Voda. Also Voda USB modem has v poor reception in my Nth Sydney unit - rarely able to video stream even 240p. When I called customer care was told that as long as reception has 1 bar this is acceptable to voda + speed issues due to using internet at peak times. Thanks voda I'll try + avoid watching any videos during your 7am-10pm peak times. 2 bills auto paid to date 1 over, 1 under - can't trust. Live in hope of improvements - only 21 months to go.

27 Dec 2010 11:22:36 PM: "they got me to sign a contract" thats rubbish buddy, that was your own choice
as for not paying your "vodaphone" bill, you'll never get another phone/contract in your life (actually probably your daddy's; i'm assuming by your spelling that you're no older than 10) due to your terrible credit history.

5475 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is DISGRACEFUL at 27 Dec 2010 10:20:42 PM
I'm with 3 ...which as we all know has joined with Vodafone.

- After 24months we ordered upgrades for our 2 mobile phones. Rather than upgrades they added 2 NEW NUMBERS to my account. After about 4 hours of phonecalls they finally accepted that it was their mistake and said that they will remove the 2 numbers from my 'next' bill.
- As one of the new phones ordered was an iphone, they were reluctant to let me keep my number...to do so, I had to buy a simcard from another company...transfer my number to that company and then fill out a 'porting form' and transfer it back to 3 (like I don't have better things to do with my time.)
- On top of that, as I'm on the old cap and they didn't upgrade it when they should of (Signed the 15th Nov. for the start of Dec 10) I'm currently having to pay for internet usage that I DON'T BELIEVE I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR AS MY CAP SHOULD OF COMMENCED ON THE 10TH DEC NOT 10TH JAN!!

5389 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Prepaid Balance at 27 Dec 2010 09:55:13 PM
I recharged my Prepaid account last 10 Dec 2010 for $30.00 on a 365 days plan. Today, 27 Dec 2010 after 17 days, I received a text message saying my Flexi balance is under $10.00. I haven't used my phone a lot and usually my $30.00 recharge will last for more than 6 months. I'm surprised that I almost finished my $30.00 recharge in just 17 days without making too much calls or text. I usually call my two sons and my wife which is also in vodafone service. And I believe, vodafone to vodafone calls are free. This is how frustrated I am with vodafone.

5385 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Very Ordinary Indeed at 27 Dec 2010 09:54:25 PM
After being a loyal Vodafone company account customer since 1996 I have paid this company literally tens of thousands of dollars over the years only to be treated as I was a first time pre-paid customer! After complaining recently (Nov) I was credited a whopping $10 per month for the next 24 months because they stuffed up my monthly account so badly and since Aug have offered drop outs during calls, delivered voice mail 4 days after the call was logged, charged for listed "free" calls, offered little to no coverage and generally drove me close to suicide. But alas one month later nothing has changed at all! In fact WORSE THAN EVER! I am soooo ready to leave these incompetent fools that I am ready to walk! In todays business age I am astounded that the management of this company is prepared to treat its customers in this manner. Have they not heard that it is 10 times harder and 10 times more expensive to get a new customer than it is to retain existing customers! I'm very shitty with Vodafoney and will act with my cheque book.

I was talking to a vodafone, no, 3! staff member earlier for approximately 1 hour (including half hour on hold) trying to sort a few things out on my bill.

I applied for a $39 month to month broadband plan, it was a special offer emailed to me, they put me on and billed me $49 a month.

Also I did not receive my dongle until the 13th of December and was charged from the 30th of November!
The staff member had to put me on hold while he went to ask what a dongle was?

I phoned around the 12th of December to advise I had not received it and was told not to worry, I would not be charged. How was I to know it had been delivered to the Post Office when no notification was left to tell me? My contract stated that it would be delivered to my door and I would have to show I.D and sign.

The staff member could not explain to me what my volume limit was. It says I have passed this everytime I connect. He then put me through to a closed department.

I did not ask for my mobile to be put on the same bill. It has never been direct debited before as the broadband is nor did I give permission.

I am not happy with the signal either, I only get poor service, one bar only.

I have also been annoyed that my prepaid mobile was cancelled without advising me first.

I will consider cancelling my phone plan when it expires in February also but lets hope conditions improve.

5356 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Epic Fail at 27 Dec 2010 09:47:31 PM
Vodafone deducted more money than they should've for two months and happened to not send me the bills explaining I had exceeded the limit for my mobile broadband internet. I only found out in my bank statements and luckily I had enough money in my account both times for the bills to be paid through direct debit. When I finally got through to them after a million hours and phone calls, they said they'd have to charge me a fee to send me my bills via email. I've wasted hours waiting to speak to someone and at last today somebody at the retentions team listened to my grievances. None of the other workers gave a damn. I've been having trouble with them since February of 2010 and they put me in a really complicated situation. I want some kind of monetary compensation for being inconvenienced. I'll never go back to them. Vodafone won't be part of my vocabulary any more.

5329 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is Greedy Fail at 27 Dec 2010 09:34:59 PM
Have been a VF customer (prepaid)for 7yrs, moved to post paid(contract) and have poor quality of service by means of extended wait times of each call to VF (45+mins) which is a cost to me.

specific issues:
1. Poor reception in areas that are advertised by VF as standard coverage.
further resulting in sporadic loss of signal and no network coverage.
recently had death in family and I could not reliably contact or be contacted by members of family and friends due to poor network issues, even when VF has advertised on their coverage maps that the area has standard coverage.

2. over 3 hours down time trying to contact staff at VF to resolve issues.
3. upon receiving my contracted handset, there was no documentation about the contract, I was unable to use the phone for many days even though it was reported on the box the sim was in that it was already activated. rang the TIO after spending many days trying to contact VF, it took 1week for VF to contact me.

4. Billing anomalies such as some service I have never requested.

I want to drop VF as my carrier and may do so, through due legal process as i think they have voided their contract of service to me with false advertisement on network coverage.

It is greed that fuels VF machine of industry, such a shame that the course of events such as AU government selling of tel$tra forces some citizens out of necessity (pure cost factor) to do business with Telco not australian.

I thought I was going mad or there was just a problem with my own phone. I put up with this for about 2 months before finally deciding to call Vodafail. They actually allowed me to break my existing contract about 6 months too early without charge (what a miracle!) and get a free upgrade from my iPhone 3GS to an iPhone 4.

However, this did not solve the problem at all and I really started to think there must be a general problem for everyone. This was confirmed when I saw an article on smh.com.au (Sydney Morning Herald online) and I knew I was not alone and there were many other very unhappy customers suffering too.

Another further month has passed with all these extremely frustrating problems, and miraculously today (Monday 27th) it seems the problem (at least in my local area here) has finally been resolved! (yet to be fully confirmed though - but so far looks much better).

What a nightmare the past few months have been though! So many dropped calls, signal problems, texts and MMS messages taking ages to be delivered or received, terrible internet connections with constant dropouts etc etc.

Glad at least the problem seems to be over (around here anyway), but Vodafail needs to be held to account for such an horrific problem for so long! Bring on the Class Action!

Signed,

Very Angry Customer.

I live in the CBD (melbourne) and have half strength signal most of the time, with daily drop-outs, and voice delays...having alot of missed txt messages or receiving a sms up to 3 hours later, I decided to test the service.. sitting in the same room with another vodafone user, we txted to see how long the sms would take to arrive... it took on average 7 minutes with one turning up the following day...what the F ?????? their service has only got worse since merging with 3... I have a 3 mobile broadband service, which is the biggest rip-off, never reaches the speeds its advertised to be able to do...more like dial up speeds most of the time, also they have a trick where they tell you that your data allowance has been used up, and to purchase more, I log in my user account to view how much data I have left (as I do often) but mysteriously that service doesn't show up, so believing im out off data, I buy more, once bought, my user account updates showing me that I have more data than I just bought,(sometime up to 750MB extra) meaning I was never out of data in the first place... tricking me into buy more. I even had this happen a few hours after buying 2Gb of data, I hadn't even used the internet within that time, customer service keeps telling me that there is no problems with their service, and that I can always view how much data I have left via my user account online ... who are they kidding. vodafone and 3 (both being the same network) will never have my business again. off to Telstra I go !!!!!!!!!!!!!1

When I "roam" outside of a 3 network area I get billed for internet usage. But when that happens, I roam from THREE to VODAFONE. IT's THE SAME COMPANY yet I have to pay!!!
I asked for this feature to be turned off. No can do.

Contractual obligations not met by Vodafone themselves, poor reception in some areas where Vodafone claims good coverage after two service checks/requests - blamed my phone which should have out performed similar models at the time.

Late SMS's.

VERY DIFFICULT to stop or make changes to your contract, but it's OK for Vodafone to double-charge, make accounting and billing errors and threaten you with legal action when you protest their incompetence. Sales staff are lying assholes, they promise you various things/services/rebates but they do not materialise after a contract has begun.

Very expensive calls for the quality of service you get.

Had the same rubbish in the UK and in Holland too, never again. Vodafone is yet another (globally) shit company to deal with.

I have two phones on Vodafone plans, and have been a customer since 2006 when I worked for the company in many local Canberra stores. In the past three months the service that I used to rave to customers, friends and family about has gone from sublime to dismal with the calls to and from my Vodafone mobile accounts either dropping out after a few seconds or not getting through at all. Voicemail messages take days to reach me, and SMS can take anywhere between 30 minutes to 48 hours.

What annoys me the most is that Vodafone Customer Care (now located offshore - no Newcastle or Hobart call centres) insist that these problems are very uncommon for Canberra (which they insist is a suburb of NSW), and that turning 3G off on my handset for a couple of days will fix the problem. It's been six days for me now without 3G and I'm still experiencing the same problems.

I never thought I'd say it, but it looks like I'll be heading over to Telstra as soon as I can!

i live on the mornington peninsula and have had nothing but trouble with VF mobile service. The salesperson told us that the network coverage would be excellent in our area. I have had nothing but poor reception and dropouts. I thought it was just my phone, but turns out no, it's VF. reading all these other accounts of VFs service it was like looking into a mirror. their coverage is poo! depending on the weather (ie wind, rain, storms, clouds, sunshine and anything else) my using my phone is like playing roulette. Sometimes works in the lounge/bedroom/kitchen/outside, but usually not. and because it has worked once in a particular location, it does not mean that it will work there again later, or even during the same conversation. i am very keen and interested in joining any class action that may take place. i will next time most likely just go with telstra regardless of the cost - just so i can feel like a prince with my superior network coverage regardless of the cost ;-)

been fighting with vodafone over same issue since august with useless handset - usual range problems (dropping out, loss of reception in my local supermarket), continued loss of important contacts (i work with vulnerable clients) refusal to replace handset, many trips to the store, a total of FOURTEEN hours on hold over 5 calls to customer "care" (haha) - including one FOUR HOUR wait on 23/12 which was not answered in the end. i was blatently lied to - promised resolution and a new handset in october. despite the dreadful, non-existent service, i continue to be billed, with promises of "refund" later. meanwhile i have been without the technology i need for 4 months now. i want my contract cancelled and my fees refunded
27 Dec 2010 09:16:34 PM: on-hold wait times with vodafone are an absolute DISGRACE. i have sat on hold listening to john mayer and rob thomas for FIVE hours and transported around different departments in sri lanka. they should be ashamed of their customer service, just disgusting.

My phone contract is due to run out now in 4 weeks (thank goodness) but I have had on going issues with signal, service and mostly customer service. I rang Customer service on numerous occasions about my issues with coverage and a billing enquiry and was on hold for ever.

Coverage for my internet at my house is shocking, despite being told by vodafone (and showed a coverage map) that internet coverage in my area was really good. (there is also a vodafone store less than 3 kms from my house, so why are they selling internet when it doesnt work more than 3km from their shop!), Again I rang Customer Service about the issue, was on hold nearly 40 mins and then spoke to someone who barely understood a word I said and then kept trying to transfer me through to another department before even hearing the reason why I had rang. When I asked how long I had left on my contracts I got the 3rd degree and eventually told. He then insisted on transferring me through to another area which he ASSURED me could help me with my problem right now. I got transferred to a pre-recorded msg "This department is currently closed" and then I got disconnected.
So.... I went in to see someone at the shop. The girl I spoke to said "well, you only have your internet contract until January 22nd with Vodafone, so if you just put up with it until then you can change after that" This is really annoying, customers shouldnt have to 'put up with it' until the end of the contract, it should be resolved, regardless of how much is left on the contract. I have 6 months left with my mobile phone and I am NOT HAPPY!!

We've been loyal Vodafone customers for many years. We have personal & business accounts. The service the last 3-4 months has been disgraceful. When we've complained to Vodafone they'd tried to blame the phones rather than their service. This is despite the use of iPhones, Nokias and Blackberries. The same problems, same locations, the same rubbish.
Vodafone has lost us for good. No apology, re assurance or compensation will repair their PR damage. They've demonstrated that they don't value their customers by not informing us of the pending problems but actually denying they existed. All while still advertising for new business on a system that is flawed. They deserve to go broke on their blatant arrogance alone. Glad our contracts are finished as there is no way we would renew with them.

will milk you dry and delibaretely confuse you with their billing,on-line help and web site so you cough up rather than question the charges.I'm now left with Optus to try for the first time, good luck to us all,Amen.

I am in the process of working with debt collectors regarding a vodafone bill. I didnt recieve my first iphone bill for 2 months, despite calling them 3 times asking for my bill which of course takes hours because the call wait line is endless and the customer service reps incompetant. I then had my iphone stolen and when i called them was told i could get a new one which i could pay off over 6 months. I then recieved a $3000!!!!!!! bill for 3 months worth of charges (what the hell?? I was on a $79 dollar per month contract) and the new iphone which was to be paid within 2 weeks. Goodbye good credit rating, hello years of terrible service and no help. Im so happy this has been started, i thought it was just me! Its about time these big corporations were held accountable! The best part is that i cannot now switch service providers because of my credit rating

I have been with 3 for many years - mobiles & mobile broadband. My coverage with 3 hasnt been that bad. However, I have noticed that since 3 & Vodaphone have merged my coverage has become pretty bad. Often inside my house I have no coverage whereas before I didnt really have problems.
A few months ago I had an issue with my account - I had paid by BPAY & then got a txt saying my bill was overdue so I rang them & was told that I had to pay the bill over the phone or they will disconnect my services. I explained to the moron that I had already paid via BPAY & gave the receipt number etc I told him that under no circumstances was I paying the account again. He got quite demanding & was very rude but I refused to pay the account again & he basically called me a liar & said that I hadnt paid the bill. I got home that night & had a letter in the mail saying my phone bill had the wrong Bpay reference number on it!! That was why they couldnt find my BPAY pyt!! I rang them back & asked to speak to the rude moron that had practically called me a liar (I asked for his name when I initally rang) It was good to hear him squirm when I demanded an apology from him & told him that he was a rude pig!!

At least every second call dropped out every day for 12 months. I spent a total of 120 hours complaining about my service. It was almost in[ossible to make myself understood. They tld me to turn my 3g off. I told them that if I had to turn my 3g off, they would end my 24 month contract and refund the $10 p/m for the iphone. Finally I had enough and called the ombudsman. I got a complaint number and called voda back. They asked me to send the phone back and they refunded the $130 I had paid for the phone. They did not refund the 13 X $79 I had paid for their shitty service. I never used the data as it was either so slow as to be unuseable or not in 3g so were not able to use it. I am with telstra and its shitty billing system but at least I can use the data and the calls don't drop out much

I've had a 24 month contract with vodafone for 18 months. Over this period, I have had regular call drop outs, no reception coverage in metropolitan areas in and around Sydney, late voicemail messages (by up to 3 days), failed text messages almost daily and unreceived messages.
I called Vodafone to see what was going on and after 50 minutes I finally got through to someone in an Indian call centre who said they would transfer me to someone in technical support to check my network coverage. I waited another 35 minutes to be transferred, before giving up since no one took the call.
The second time I called I asked for the payout figure on my account since I was sick to death of all the network issues and I was told that i couldnt cancel my account without paying $600 exit fee despite the fact that the vodafone service was not living up to the services stated in my contract. I am less than impressed by vodafone's breach of contract and denial of any wrong doing and of the unhelpful service I received when calling for assistance.

Now that I have your attention,
Vodafone is excellent in the field of - appalling...
Honest to god I have spent more than 24 hours of my time to customer service having issues unresolved.
I have missed job interviews, meetings with friends and given my stress levels a good kick start.
Billing issues with the USB internet, poor customer service (so much so that they blamed me for the faulty device), extended periods of time taken to correct errors made on behalf of customer service reps, it goes on and on
I also think the merge with 3 has made vodafone coverage astronomically worse.
People with control need to fix the endless problems that is Vodafone Customer Service.

I wish the people behind this class action all the best.

Vodafone has to be one of the most frustrating companies to deal with and to be a customer of.

Customer "Care"? I've never felt any 'care' over the phone - sitting on hold for an hour was as long as I lasted before giving up to find an email address to air my complaints. That way at least I could communicate and make the most of my time whilst I waited for a response.

My billing appears incorrect and hadn't updated my 'best mate' number so that I could receive free calls, leading to over charging. Then I find out that after being a loyal customer for a number of years that I care not to remember, that if I signed up to day I would be receiving nearly double the value for the same amount of money. It would be nice of vodafone to reward customer loyalty by atleast offering them the latest deals instead of leaving the owness on us to find out what the latest plan value is and request to be changed accross to the new version of the exact same plan. Fortunately, they would let me transfer my plan.

Don't even let me get started on reception. I can't make a phone call from my bedroom. Enough said.

Can't wait until June when my contract expires.

I tried to call to cancel my mobile broadband When I finally got to speak to someone, I was told they couldn't look up my account with my name and address. I was going to complain, then I got hung up on. I called again with the SIM number and was on hold again, so I left my number to get someone to call me back. I finally spoke to someone who went through all my details, and then told me I had to speak to the cancellations department. I was put on hold for another 55 minutes, waiting to speak to the right department. When I finally got through I had to repeat everything again and then dodge repeated attempts to get me to stay with Vodafone. How about no.

A month later I recive a debt collectors notice, right ok, no bill at all before this.
SO of course i call vodafone and i explain whats happened, they reply oh well thats no problem sign into your account on the website and get your payout figure. uh WTF, so after asking for them to mail me out a copy of my bill they reply oh no we cant do that, you have Email only requested.

Being a Vodafone customer since 1996, I've decided to switch at my contract end. I was a legacy customer and after analysing my accounts for years, they told me I'd be better off on a data plan. Guess what, can't connect, can't get someone to answer, calls and connections drop out and fail, and IT COSTS MORE FOR THIS CRAP SERVICE. The last 6mths have been terrible, and most people can't even decipher what I'm saying because the crackle is so bad. Initially I thought it was because Telstra gave them less air, but it's just crap whichever way you use it, and stupidly I'm still paying for it.

Having had so many issues similiar to those already mentioned, I ported my number to another provider - called and said I could no longer receive my bill electronically as my number no longer existed in the system and that I would need a manual bill. Three phone calls later and all those wonderful explainations and 'yes we will put that in the system for you' later, I receive a letter from their debt collection office, telling me that due to my ignornance of all correspondence they were issueing me with a 72 hour demand notice. Needless to say, after more inconclusive phone calls and emails to Vodafone, no resolution, apology, or any satisfaction - I received another bill and another debt collection notice to finalise my account - that I had already finalised. Much happier with my new provider!!
27 Dec 2010 08:11:58 PM: yup thats another thing they keep sending me texts saying that my bill is avail but if I dont switch to online billing I'll be charged and to call a number. My mess is too long to write about but in short I have changed telco's as I am totally sick of vodafone & their complete contempt for their customers.
The problem I had revolved around a new phone that did not arrive so I requested a refund but Vodafone said I did not order one despite the money being taken from my C/C. After more than 10 hours total on the phone to a customer service person in India I handed the whole lot over to the Ombudsman & had my refund within 10 days. Vodafone offered me $100 credit as compensation but this was in the form of "extras" on my pre-paid account that I dont use anymore.
I will NEVER use Vodafone again nor will I recommend them to anybody in fact I would activley discourage anybody from using Vodafone if for no other reason than their complete lack of customer service.
I have dealt with a lot of companies in my life but Vodafone is the WORST for customer service & Lara is a complete waste of space!!
Years ago I was with Hutchinson Communications (crap) then with Orange (still crap) then with 3 (reasonable) & for anybody that dosent know they are all the same company rebadged each time. Vodafone bought Hutchinson (3) & now they are on the Vodafone network (complete & utter CRAP).

Earlier this year Vodaphone for 4-5 consecutive months charged me for the use of some TV/entertainment package. Each month I would call and complain and get the bill fixed before paying each time Vodaphone tell me that it was my fault and the last time I had it fix they told me that they would be unable to change the bill the next time. Strangely it did not show up on any more bills after that. I never signed up for this service or changed any thing on my phone. Each time I called staff were rude and sometime hard to understand.

4928 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Bad at 27 Dec 2010 07:40:46 PM
I originally joined Vodafone prepaid about 10 years ago and their coverage, services and prices were ok as long as you lived in a major capital city and didn't venture out anywhere in the Country.

The past 1-2 years, especially since my prepaid service was switched to the 3g network I have noticed terrible reception and call quality even in built up areas. Also a couple of months ago when sending texts the people who I sent texts too advised me that they were getting 20 seperate texts of the exact same message and when I checked my account I discovered that I was getting charged for each and every one of them. I complained but it took Vodafone about 2-3 weeks to resolve the problem and credit me with 150 texts. I wonder how many people didn't know about that problem and were charged 20 times more than what they should have been for text messages.

I also spend a lot of time on the bay islands here in Brisbane with family and Vodafone has absolutely no coverage whatsoever. Regardless of their cheap plans and 60 day expiry I finally switched to a Telstra pre-paid plan last week and here on the bay islands I get 5/5 bars for reception.

OK I pay a little bit more for my service but at least I am getting what I pay for. And that my friends is what Vodafone's customers should do too if they are unhappy. Even if you are on a contract just cancel it and if they threaten to charge an early termination fee just threaten them with the TIO.

Maybe with no customers they might get the message?

4925 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Isn't the question, how is Vodafone NOT failing? at 27 Dec 2010 07:40:08 PM
I've been a very long term customer of Vodafone, switching from Telstra's rip off and very poor service of over a decade ago. I had never had trouble with VF until about 2 years ago and then increasingly so. I got so sick of ringing to complain only to have tours of the world - via Egypt, India and the Phillipines and any time I was put through to someone overseas who can barely speak English, who followed a script and couldn't understand English enough to answer questions, I would ask to put to someone in Australia. You won't get any satisfaction out of ringing customer service. I had to make 2 complaints to the TIO and got some satisfaction, only to then have the same problem develop not so long after, as VF assured me, 'it had been sorted out'. I started to call the head office number in Sydney direct. They will get the message quick enough if every disgruntled person started to call head office, on a real land line, in Australia! Check the phone book - the old hard copy ones (since you probably can't get wireless net coverage to check online anyway). Don't call on the 1 300 numbers they give customers for 'customer service' as you will get the biggest run around. Also, ask for a name and employee identifier number and where they located if you speak to someone and ask them to read back the notes of your call which they enter into their computers and keep your own notes. Problems include call drop outs, sms and voice messages not delivered for days, if at all, both receiving and sending, and yet other times, sms going back and forth without a hitch, poor coverage or no coverage for extended periods where there is supposed to be coverage, calls not connecting so ringing 2 or 3 or 4 times to make a call, static on lines, only hearing every few words, improper and incorrect billing, etc all of the things of which every one complains. I just love ringing directory assistance when I can't recall a number I need, only to be told that the company or business doesn't exist as VF can't find any listing when you know it's there. That's a joke!

Since May 2010, exprecing no network connectivity, dropping/disconnecting connection automatically. had spoken many time with customer service, no desired result and improvment of connection connectivity.

I m regretting to have this vodafone connection and will never ever recommend to any of my relatives/friends etc.

As i cought with 12 monhs lockup plan. and wishes i can switch the connection with other vendors.
However sales person sells the connection and service with confirdance of high standard coverage/connectivity in Perth city. but it is worst than subarb areas.

Just living in city of Perth has 1 bar connectivity and even drops in a minute. DISAPPOINTED.

Got 6 GB plan for my use and hardly able to use even 15% of it in a months becuase of connectivity.

I will be happy to returns this ervices with immidiate effect...

recently looking on bill wrongly posted of $1400 ??? into my account where as i have only $39 (6GB) plan. how bad are no reliability..

Customer Service with most Telcos is crap, but vodafone have added extra fibre to their diets....flows real easy. I use my phone for work and it has been frustrating not to have coverage to make calls and lose jobs due to late message arrivals. i guess my VODAFONE communication device makes for a pretty good camera and music player because it sure as hell lacks communication skills! Best see the TIO in regards to dropping Voda contract for something more technologically advanced like two cans and a piece of string....SEE YA VODAFAIL!!!

This year i was offered a phone and a better deal with vodafone, so i switched, at the time of the switch i was living in the NT, i told the sales person that i was moving to qld and could he please check the service for vodafone if i gave him the postcode. Once i gave him the postcode he told me that i would have good coverage so i went ahead with the switch. I left thew Nt about 2 moonths after switching to vodafone we were driving back to qld, once leavint darwin i didnt get servive again until i reached katherine, i then lost service and didn't get it again until Mt Isa, from there i lost it again until i reached Roma, then i lost it again until toowoomba.
this was very frustrating.
I have been back in qld since august 2010, i live and work 1 hour from brisbane and i have no service more times than i do have servcice.
To get service will depend where i am standing at the time, at work i do not get any service at all keeping in mind that i do live and work only 1 hour from brisbane.
I cannot wait to tell vodafone where to put their service and switch back to the company i was originally with.I may only paY $49 per month any my account is always in credit, i have given up trying to contact the company,if i could get out of the contract i would as i expect a better service as i am only 1 hour from brisbane and i was told i would have proper phone service.. this is not the case. i would never recomend vodafone to anyone.

Totally regret why I switched from 3 to Vodafone in September 2010. They billed me twice the first 3 months, I had to close my bank account because they couldn't sort it out and couldn't explain to me why. The Vodafone shop in Prahran was not helpful too. I spent hours talking and listening to "LARA"... finally one day I was able to speak to someone, but told me "the system was down" and couldn't help. Before I switched, was told that if my family on 3 network will call me, still would be free. But it wasn't the case. I am working in Wodonga and Albury, reception is so bad I couldn't be contacted in an emergency. It doesn't even go into roaming. My fone proudly says "NO SERVICE" all the time. So frustrating. When will it end.

Vodafone allowed another company (have no idea who) to put $40 worth of calls on my mobile phone without my permission or knowledge. When I complained, I was told tough luck, I still had to pay. I wrote to them to advise that I wouldn't pay this bill, but they still keep billing me every month ($39.01). This has been going on for about a year now. They have no customer service.

4862 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is not the best! at 27 Dec 2010 07:26:53 PM
Our son was contacted by someone and signed up for a contract (even though the original account was in my name) He had just turned 18, so he signed up for a 24 month contract. Unfortuantely he has not been getting the best reception, same issues, drop out of calls, no signal/ coverage.... so he complained, was told that he could not get out of the contract he would have to pay 800+ costs, and he had to go to Telstra to get the reception he needs to have coverage.... Not good enough!! 1st he should not have been approached and allowed to take a contract on a number that was mine, and also if reception/ coverage is not good enouth, they should not be allowed to penalise you for changing carriers/ contracts.

I have made several complaints about the POOR reception after been a customer for years and putting up with it, I brought a new phone costing over $200 thinking this would help the issue NO such luck.. When spoke to vodafone after hours on hold (another issue) only to be told the coverage is poor in my area but at the moment I need to deal with it and they will fix it, yes but when.. I dont seem to get the answer for that.. Its hard when you pay the account every month and you cant use the phone as the calls are always dropping out.. very frustrating.. vodafone need to fix the reception issue I never had this problam when they were just vodafone but now they are linked to the 3 network the coverage is crap..

We signed up for 2 year internet plan, after a bout 1 1/2 stuffed up or billing with a letter stating they had issues and it would be fixed. We then didnt get service for a few weeks when ring the 'Help' desk they told us our direct debt failed which they then sorted out after i stated we got a letter from them to say it was there fault. We then stopped getting a service and bill when ringing again we were told we had insufficant funds which was totally not the case, we then received a debt collection letter stated we owed $300 dollar for a service they had not given us, all they could say is insufficant funds (we would earn more in a week then they would get in a year!!!)

4796 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Not too bad... but! at 27 Dec 2010 07:17:05 PM
I had an I phone with Vodafone for a year in melbourne, I actually had no network issues, and the phone worked okay in Ballarat.

However, the customer service was a nightmare! I left vodafone to upgrade to the 3GS earlier this year and switched to OPTUS. I asked for a final account and waited. And waited. And got one after three months showing that vodafone owed me about $40. So I sent an e-mail to the big V that took a week to be answered, saying that the e-mail team can't do a refund! So I tried the phone team, spent a while on hold and finally got through. After a 15 minute argument I was told that it would take 6 weeks to send me a cheque for the money, no interest would be applied and if I didn't like it someone would contact me. I asked the guy to get anyone to call me back to explain the 6 week delay for a cheque, noone ever has. Small fry I know but bloody annoying!

4753 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is blatantly overcharging even though never went over cap at 27 Dec 2010 07:07:59 PM
during my 2 year contract with vodafone $69 cap - would usually not even use the allocated amount of calls during each monthly billing period..this went on for over 14 months - then, for some reason - still not explained by vodafone my monthly bills would spike to anywhere between $260 - $370 dollars... i phoned and tried to explain that i never made that many calls, and that my past usage was always within or below the cap amount - to no avail...they were not interested...however, the very next month, after having complained in 'strong language' to the staff member, my monthly bill was once again down to the $70 amount...however, every 2nd or 4 month - it would be up again. vodafone staff not interested in doing anything about it...i also saw a charge for almost $22 for a 1223 number (which is for directory assistance for locating a phone number - and it usually only takes a minute or two) yet vodafone staff were not interested in following up with this query when i asked them to explain why my bill showed this amount - and as they issued the invoice and kept all records of all calls made and received - it would be a simple matter to correct this mistake - result: a big fat nothing - no action at all. pathetic service considering the market vodafone has - why is not there a duty to step up and provide a necessary service in this day and age. surely that is not an unreasonable request. thank you for setting up this site.

4749 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is so far off the fail meter at 27 Dec 2010 07:06:29 PM
So funny to read despite the thousands of complaints growing on this site, Vodafone was worried about their logo being used on the Facebook page. Just shows where their head is, not only Vodafone but it's time big businesses have to be accountable for their dwindling quality of product.

Got out of my 3 contract after I heard Vodafone bought 3 out. Best decision I made.

4742 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Oh no Vodafone at 27 Dec 2010 07:05:38 PM
I have just transferred my mobile plan over to Telstra and am waiting for my internet contract to expire so I can do the same there. I could not take phone calls unless I was out the front door of my home with Vodafone and with the internet have to sit in the front lounge room to get reception. I am not in a rural area either! Also had to have my initial USB modem replaced due to a fault and for some reason I am being billed for both faulty modem (which is no longer in my possession) and new replacement modem each month. This means my account keeps being disconnected once a month due to 'unpaid bills' for a product I don't even have!! Very frustrating.

4719 Someone from TAS thinks vodafone is at 27 Dec 2010 07:00:55 PM
Well, I started the contract with Vodafone when I was still living in Sydney, in January of 2009. I had heard from a family member that the (at that time) new Blackberry Storm phone was the best of the best, so I decided to look into getting one. I went to an outlet at the Bankstown Centro shopping facility, and I got one of the Storm phones, and at the same time opened an account with Vodafone. At the time of my receiving the phone, I asked the individual who was working at the outlet if I would be able to receive signals in all States and Territories of Australia, and he said yes. I asked him if he was positive, and he replied with another enthusiastic "Yes". So, I got the phone, and went on my way. I experienced my first dropped call later that afternoon. One of the main reasons for changing mobile services in the first place was because of dropped calls and low signal reception in various places immediately outside of the Sydney area, from the previous mobile service provider.

I had had the phone for less than one month when I had my first serious problem with it. Because it was under a 30-day replacement warranty, I took it to the outlet where I got it, told the people there that the phone wasn't working, and they told me that they didn't have any more of the particular model in the store at that time. I wasn't in a position to do anything more about it at that time, because I was getting ready to go overseas that next day. I left for my overseas destination the next day, and returned about 30 days later. I immediately returned to the outlet where I had gotten the phone, and was told that they had more of that particular model in the store then, but that the 30-day replacement warranty had expired. So, I asked them what my options were. They said that I could give them the phone, and they would send it out to their repair facility. I did this, and about two weeks later they contacted me and said that the phone was ready to be picked up. I immediately went to the outlet, and they told me that the unit had been replaced with a new one. I had high hopes. Well, this second phone almost immediately dropped calls and had very poor signal reception in numerous parts of the Sydney area, as well as other places in Australia where I took it. Also, it was about three months until this second phone developed a problem that rendered it unusable. I took it to the outlet, where it was the same as before: they said leave it here, we'll send it out, and you should have it back in about two weeks. Well, about three weeks later, I got a phone call from the outlet telling me that the phone was back. Again, I immediately went to the outlet to get the phone. I picked it up, and hadn't even gotten out of the shopping center when the phone dropped its first call. I turned around and walked back to the shop, told them about the problem, and they asked me if the battery was fully charged. I told them it was. They told me that because of the large amount of metal within the shopping center, that the signal strength was usually not very good there, and to take the phone outside the mall and try it again. I did, and the signal strength was better outside the mall. Well, shortly after all this, I moved to Tasmania. I came to Devonport on the Spirit of Tasmania ferry, and as soon as I arrived in Devonport I tried to use the phone, and I discovered almost no signal strength. I drove around Devonport trying to find a location where I had a better signal, but could find none. I then drove to Burnie, again with no better signal strength. I now refer back to the first part of this writing, where I had been told by the people who initially sold me this phone that it would work equally well in ANY State or Territory of Australia. Needless to say, it hardly worked at all in Tasmania. The only exception to this is that it appeared to work OK in Launceston, which is one of the larger towns in Tasmania.

I took the phone to China, Malaysia, and New Zealand with me on business trips, and it did operate satisfactorily in all three of these countries, as long as I was in large cities in those countries. It appeared that in rural areas, there was almost no signal strength, and this appeared to be the case in all three of the countries mentioned above.

The last thing I have to comment on is that every time I have tried to make a credit card payment on the phone account, the credit card is not accepted by the Vodafone credit card payment system.

I am absolutely NOT happy at all with either the service, the equipment, or the customer service from Vodafone. All in all, a very large disappointment.

4708 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is VodaFucked at 27 Dec 2010 06:57:59 PM
I have experienced similar issues with my calls to the Customer Service Centre continually dropping out for no apparent reason and for my phone calls to just not go through at all, but I don't seem to have any choice but to call them as I am being told by Vodafone Customer Service Centre employees that as I have a billing issue I can ONLY call up and cannot deal with the issue face to face. Basically, the story is that I have not received any correct bills from Vodafone since January 2010 as a billing error occured which stated my bills were due in 2026. After many frustrating phone calls of always being PROMISED that I would receive a phone call back in a few hours or a couple of days I have now received harrasing phone calls and letters from a debt collection agency asking for immediate payment of over $2,000. At this point I don't know what to do as I am only 21 and have just completed university and am only just starting a new apprenticeship. I will be in contact with the ombudsman to try and have the issue resolved but all I can realy do is hope for the best. Thanks for ruining my life Vodafone!!!!!!

4699 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is MAJOR EPIC FAIL!!!! at 27 Dec 2010 06:55:49 PM
Vodafone please explain the following...

Why is it that voice mail messages take OVER 24 hours to arrive?????
Why is my Wireless broadband service is slow and prone to multiple dropouts???
Why do phone calls drop out constantly???
Why is it that there are times that I cannot get internet on my iPhone 4???
Why is it that it can take TWO days to send an MMS with multiple fails???
Why is it that I have so much trouble trying to get my billing/account information on your web site???

It's not as if I live in the sticks, I live 12 kilometres from the centre of Brisbane. You "took" 4 days a year ago to "upgrade" your service leaving me with no phone or internet. It was only after I went to the TIO that you refunded the cost of my contract for the 4 days.

As soon as this contract is finished, so is our "relationship".

Calls dropping out, network and internet issues, not sufficient information to customers about the billing procedures, the mobile phones they supply are of poor quality and the service to the customer when returning a faulty product is not professional.
They do not mind to take moneys from the customer's account for services we do not even know we had.
My husband and I are happy that we are not alone that we had such bad experience with Vodafone and I am glad that somebody is doing something about it. Signed - another dissatisfied customer

4533 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Pathetic at 27 Dec 2010 06:22:37 PM
I was on Vodafone Prepaid until recently. When I signed up in October 2008, the network was terrific. Could not complain one bit - plus it was far cheaper than Telstra! I had coverage where and when I needed it, and that's what mattered to me.

Well, In about August of 2010, things started going downhill. First it was calls being broken up. Then dropped calls. Then I couldn't send SMS's. Slowly, it got worse and worse. It got to a point I couldn't use the Internet anymore at all, 24/7. However, my phone (Nokia 3120c) always assured me I had 3 or 4 (of 4) bars...

One day it took 20 minutes for a very important text to arrive, meaning I was over half an hour late for an important appointment.

I tried contacting Vodafone (mainly through their Twitter account), but they were no help. They simply denied there were issues. I looked at people mentioning them - almost everyone was having similar issues. Hah!

That was the last straw for me. I was over Vodafone. I did the only thing I could, and I switched to Telstra (along with getting a Nokia 6120c). I've been incredibly happy with them so far - I have reception EVERYWHERE, almost always have 7 (of 7) bars, call quality is great, SMS's arrive within seconds of being sent, and I can actually use the web, too! If I've had questions, their terrific Twitter support has been able to help me out.
The best thing about it is that their equivalent Prepaid option (I was on 365 day recharge with Voda, now on Telstra Prepaid Long Life) is exactly equivalent value for money, which is great. Plus, with the recent introduction of cheaper data packs, I can even tether my phone. It's great!!

I'd encourage everyone who has issues with Vodafone to consider another provider, especially if you're on prepaid or, more recently, can get out of your contract free.

Good luck!

4494 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Bad fail at 27 Dec 2010 06:15:30 PM
I've had a great time with Vodafone UK for many years. I also found Vodacom in South Africa great service. SO I chose Vodafone for Australia.

I noticed the reception was always worse than the other networks. 5 years ago suddenly on my bill several SMS and MMS messages appeared that I was billed for 4-5 times repeatedly even though I only sent them once. Instead of a usual bill of $30.00 my bill was $150.00. Despite several attempts to resolve this issue no effort was made to return the money. Needless to say I ceased my association then.

1 year ago a friend of mine from Wales (UK) was living in Cairns, and was on Vodafone. He was perpetually uncontactable due to being out of range. Even at Tourist attractions such as Cervantes there was no reception at all.

No, no more Vodafone Australia for me...

I have called them that many times. ONCE i was given 20 free text messages. all other times I have been called a liar. I have spent hours and hours on the phone to them trying to get my account sorted... NOW I used to work for a compant that sold VODAFONE contracts so I know a FAIR bit about their systems and their contracts and they are FLAWED FLAWED FLAWED and believe that the customer is there to rip you off so you must be on to it ang give them nothing but jargon their policys and what not... Vodafone got me on a plan with a $10 discount for the first 3 months.
The discount didn't turn up until I was on the plan 5 months and only after I repeatedly complained... Inevitably to someone in Ukraine or the Philippines. Also why can't they keep up with my billing when I dial 1512? They just charge more after I make calls I wouldn't have otherwise made.
Why don't they make clear that calls to 13 numbers are per minute???

LIFT YOUR GAME! Just because you're competing with Telstra doesn't mean you have to try to be as crap as they are!

I always have one or two bars of reception, i have never had full reception ever since joining on vodafone a few months ago. my phone calls drop out constantly. i have tried contacting them through their customer service line, had no luck, they told me they could not access my information (billing) untill a certain date, they then promised they would call me on a specific date and time. That day i checked on 'My Vodafone' and I found out i could access the information that they claimed they could not get. On top of that they never called back on the day and time they said they would. On top of all that mess, when i got my phone bill the next month, they told me i owed $165 that is overdue, for some unknown reason, since i am on a $79 UNLIMITED plan. When i called to ask where this $165 fee came from, they could not explain it and told me they had to speak to their manager and they would call me back. It has been 2 weeks since that happened and they still have not called me back. Not happy at all, If i knew this was the service you get with Vodafone i would of gone with another company.

This company is the worst Telco I encountered in the 40 years of my life!!! I actually thought Hutchison 3 is the worst but no - Vodafail took this notoriety from them.
About a month ago at the advise of a 3 customer support agent, I moved my 4 postpaid accounts to VF. I agreed since the 3 reception from where I live has gone from bad to worse! There is practically no signal in most areas in our house. Probably the biggest mistake of my life:
- Hours waiting to be answered by a CSR
- Unbelievably high call volumes even early in the morning and at midnight!!!
- Call dropping out (or intentionally being dropped off) a second after you hear a CSR's voice
- Being transferred to the wrong group although you clearly explained who you wanted to talk to
- Arrogant CSRs (I understand why this is so)
- 12 month half price not being honoured as reflected in my first bill
- Being neglected by AU staff regarding my phone orders. They won't action on any of you requests unless you call them daily and get mad at them over the phone for their failures.
- Not able to make calls or even send SMSes to family members who are all with VF. This is the most unacceptable thing for me. The 2 most basic functions you want on a mobile phone and you can't even use them.
27 Dec 2010 06:16:45 PM: BTW do not make the mistake of agreeing to have someone call you back. Nota gonna happen!!!
27 Dec 2010 07:15:48 PM: Food for thought, since June 09 Vodafone Australia has been legally owned by a Hutchison company

I still get a bill from a previously closed down (Post-Pay Cell Phone) account that is almost a year old where I still have extra money on the account that I am owed. I have a new Vodafone account and I can not merge the account debit and credit together. I am now on a by-the-month Bring Your Own plan not a fixed 24 month contract and I can not get the present bill emailed to me it can only be sent in paper form (with a additional $2.50 fee) unlike the other bill that is emailed to me. I have poor or no service as soon as I go outside the City Area. Now I have a different email address I am going to have to pay a $2.50 fee for having the old bill I owe nothing on mailed to me in paper form. If you call Vodafone assistance and get to speak to someone they are barely able to speak English and 90% of the time the problem or issue is not resolved it is left the same way it started out as. I have spend hours on the phone waiting for the accounts and bills department but there is still no change to my accounts and it is a waste of my time and money. Vodafone is cheap compared to some other Telecommunication Providers in Australia but their customer service is so very low. Even if you go into a Vodafone store they are useless because I am told I need to call the department and they do not deal with such matters. The staff in the shops are only there to make a sale and get people on fixed contracts.

4433 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is massive fail at 27 Dec 2010 06:04:48 PM
had heaps of internet issues where after several complaints, hours and hours of telephone calls and being shafted from one dept to another, from one non english speaking so called customer service operator to another to be told my laptop was the issue and to find out it was only a coverage problem they still will not issue me back my credit i still have in the account.although not a large sum the cost of losing coverage and buying a new laptop for no reason just shows how useless this company is.this also icluded vodafone sending me 2 new doggles and new sim card.what does a person have to do to be reimbursed as when you go into a store they just say "phone customer service" ha what a joke

4432 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Extremely Poor at 27 Dec 2010 06:04:46 PM
Extremely poor coverage in metropolitan areas. Calls constantly dropping out or automatically being sent to messgaqe bank. I even noticed they were over charging me on my accounts!

4424 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Epic fail at 27 Dec 2010 06:04:08 PM
I was on hold for two hours before I finally got through to someone to advise them my internet wasnt working, then I was advised it was out of hours for the technical team. I spoke to the supervisor and he hung up on me while talking to someone next to him. He did not call back. I called the next day, was on hold for an hour before someone answered my call and I was advised I would get a call back from someone who could help me, eight hours later I get a call back and am told to wait a couple of hours for the internet to start working again. Next day, internet not working again, called back Vodafone who told me to uninstall internet then reinstall and they hung up the phone. Turns out the computer would not let me reinstall the internet, Vodafone told me there was nothing they could do so I asked to be put through to disconnections. I was advised I would have to pay for the service for the next few weeks as they cannot disconnect until the end of my billing cycle (so I'm still paying for something that doesnt work). When I hang up the phone from them I discover they also disconnected my mobile phone...when will this nightmare end????

So first of all, vodafone started charging me up to 600 dollars a month for my phone usage. The reason was cause i was receiving random sms messages which I never signed up for but that cost me 50 dollars an sms. It was sms's with random world facts. I was never told, even when asked that this was the reason my phone bill was so high until i asked around and figured out what it was supposed to be.

So i go in to vodafone, change the play to the 99 dollar unlimited plan and get an i phone.

When I signed up i was told to keep making payments into the same bpay account, i did.

Later I am told I have not paid my phone bill. After about a week of fucking around I finally get through to the customer service line, and eventually they give me the money i paid in credit on my current account.

This month, I get another bill;. No credit has been applied, nothing. Not only that. I am told my phone will be cut off in a few days if i don't pay right away.

Only problem is, I have a sms, an automated phonecall and an email ALL stating different amounts I owe (Anywhere between 110 and 400) I call for days, am on the line for over an hour sometimes and get no help. Can't even talk to anyone.

Then when i try and use the automated service to find out how much my bill is and what my b pay details are i am told my account details are unable to be found at this time, sorry for the inconvenience.

Next day my phone gets cut off.

I go into vodafone to sort it out. I am told that no vodafone representative at a vodafone shop is allowed to handle billing issues and all I can do is pay the full amount and maybe sometime this week my phone will come back on (Maybe) I paid the bill on friday.

This is after the vodafone representative checked on his computer and indeed confirmed i had 300 dollars of credit. Credit which was given to me by vodafone over a month ago and is registered in their computers yet they still want me to p[ay the same amount because their computers cant sort my shit out.

On top of that, there is the constant bad internet connection, bad service, late messages, missed phonically that don't come through till after its too late.

my email is mlahooti@gmail.com

I am a film maker also. I will gladly help sue vodafone.

4395 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is difficult and unhelpful at 27 Dec 2010 05:59:42 PM
I had a vodafone 6 month plan and after 5 months I went overseas. I was told that I could cancel at the end of the 6 months. I emailed vodafone to do so and recieved no reply but continued to be billed (I had set up auto pay with my bank)I had my father visit the store and they assured him (after 3 hours in the store!) that it would be resolved. I recieved more bills. I emailed again,
no reply... This went on for the whole 6 months I was away (not using my phone)
upon returning home I went into the store and after an hour or more, the issue still wasn't resolved. I was told I would be refunded the ammount payed out as they at least had a record of the email (so why didn't they answer it??) But the staff couldn't confirm that, as, you guessed it, they couldn't get through and needed to Email HQ. Still waiting for a reply...

4388 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is 3/Vodafone Customer service at 27 Dec 2010 05:58:34 PM
Disputed in closing/terminating 2 phones on my account.
I had my now Ex wife and her fathers mobile phones on my 3/Vodafone account. I contacted customer customer service to have these phones removed from my account by the end of my account period in September 2010. To my dismay this didn't happen and now they are demanding payment from the date in which they were to cancel and the date where I rang to find out why the service was still operating. Plus I had a $19 Bonus cap and they charges $29 to cancel.I won't be paying this amount & I guess they will put me on a bad credit rating agency but I'm an old bloke and a bad credit rating won't to any harm. OK My Mobile is still working and I pay for my Cap each month. My contract ends in April 2011 and it will be goodbye Orange/3/Vodafone after 9+ years. By the way the service since changing from Orange CDMA to "3" 3G is crap especially when roaming
