Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

4073 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Beyond belief at 27 Dec 2010 05:20:07 PM
Well i returned from holidays in nov 2010 and since then the coverage and use of internet on my phone has been painful. We took a trip to the southcoast over xmas and i am lucky i didnt need to make any urgent/emergency phone calls as i couldnt get connection and had to switch off my phone and switch it on to get network. The google map on my phone is useless as the coverage dissapears and therefore unusable. Same for the internet. This short trip made me feel i should voice my concern. Imagine a family on holiday driving along and need to make an emergency call and because of vodafone's appaling service cant connect. I thought mobile phones made life easy but not with vodafail.

4070 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Pathetic at 27 Dec 2010 05:19:42 PM
Been with vodafone for over 10 years now. Since hitchens had bought out the companies and merged with 3 network the vodafone service is poor. Reception issues. Full reception but cant call or talking and suddenly it drops out. This is crap as i run a business and are always on the run from job to job and need my mobile to operate my business. Data speeds are slow and takes forever to open up the first page its like it needs to warm up and old computer so it runs on optimum speeds. Not very happy and i just recently signed up again to upgrade my plans and get a new phone. I think i will take this to the ombadsmen so i can brake the pathetic contract i signed and move onto someone else who has better ratings. This is not good enough anymore and its been going on for too long now.

I cannot believe how painful the 3G coverage constantly is in Brisbane. Somtimes it will be incredibly fast, then suddenly it will just drop to impossibly slow. According to my phone I still have full 3G but judging by the speed it seems like someone was providing me internet on a 28k modem. What a joke.

4063 Someone from NT thinks vodafone is the worst at 27 Dec 2010 05:18:49 PM
I thought Optus was terrible in Darwin. I had no reception in my house in the northern suburbs. I contacted the TIO and Optus released me from my contract finally because I did not have adequate reception. So I went back to what I thought was trusty Vodafone. Apart from being lied to on contract sign up (which I found out later) the reception and data speed was OK. But it has progressively declined to the point where like all of you I am paying for a service I do not get. I have had a few heated conversations with vodafone over a number of issues but nothing is to be resolved. I was in Adelaide CBD 2 weeks ago and there was no service at all! This is when i first found out the extent of the problem as it was all over the newspaper. I will be moving to Telstra despite paying a premium to ensure I have a service. It seems like in telecommunications, you really do pay for what you get now. How sad the ACCC and TIO and others have let things get to this stage.

The 3G coverage is pathetic. I would say at least 60% of the time I cannot get any sites to load on my phone, and I live within 5km of the Brisbane CBD. Also there is no coverage in Chermside shopping centre. Cannot wait for the contract to expire so I can go back to Telstra (they might be expensive, but at least their network works).

I complained about issues with my phone twice and each time they sent it away and then gave it back to me saying everything was ok. Eventually I went to Nokia and they immediately diagnosed the problems including a faulty battery (which was now out of warranty). I'm pretty sure all Vodafone did was wiped it and re-installed the software. They suck. Coverage is terrible. Internet is slow.

I have been with vodafone over 5 years now, over this period they have made no progress is service coverage. I live in a regional town but one that is far from remote. When you sign on a cap plan you are then bound by breaking fee to this product, since my latest sign optus have upgraded their services as have all other mobile providers. I am at home without service so my my is only getting 50% at most prouctivity. This is unacceptable.

We are on holiday in Adelaide staying at my mother's retirement village & have not had enough coverage to make phone calls from her home ANYWHERE, & have had to resort to constant texting. Our family are all on 3 (now coverage by vodaphone instead of telstra) so should have been able to ring them for free, but alas am having to resort to constant text messaging. We got no say in the take over of 3 and did not sign up with vodaphone, so am very, very unhappy with the service.

I am in a messy bill of around $2000. Though I may be blamed for overuse above the monthly plan of $69pm, I blame vodafone balance updates which take up to 2 days late. I also don't have any quality reception at all inside my apartment though I'm located right near Melbourne city in Hawthorn. 4025 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is slow internet at 27 Dec 2010 05:13:29 PM
my internet loading time seems to be very slow and considering I'm a new user of a "smart phone" i thought this was the norm - My friend is on another network and has now shown me that on her phone the pages should load quicker.
at first i thought it was the result of using too much of the the internet credit, but when i checked my usage it wasnt the case.
Also i found the use of the navagation device very slow too. I was hoping to use my new "smart phone" as a "navman" but found it took to long to registers where i was at the time.
I thought it was my Nokia x6 - but now it all makes sense.
Oh and one more thought - i was sent a sms to my phone claiming the bill had been emailed to me (it seemed a little over priced) and when i checked my email account ( to work out why the cost of the bill was so high) the bill had not actually been emailed to me.
I think i may need to consider another network - its ashame i'm on this stupid plan for the next 7 months :(

4024 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Compromised Network at 27 Dec 2010 05:13:06 PM
I have observed "glitches", failures to receive messages, failures for messages I have sent to arrive, spam messages, and "faults" that persistently occurred in circumstances that when reviewed carefully suggest that far from being actual network or phone faults that these failures were in fact the product of compromised security and network hacking.

May be difficult for many people to believe, but I feel that the failures and security issues are so comprehensive now that I see others complaining etc., that it should be carefully considered if these issues are really faults/glitches/mistakes or are they "controlled follies" providing cover for extremely serious abuses being performed on the vodaphone network.

The TIO I fear will provide maximum leeway to the vendor and little to the consumer. The vendor will be allowed to drag the resolution out to the absolute limit of their legislated time-frames, and they will not be penalized for turning the process into a farce, or even for executing adverse action against a consumer by continuing to bill in defiance of ombudsman directives. Where there are clear breaches that effect obvious adverse action against the consumer, I have found that the TIO is quick to dismiss the vendors inexcusable conduct as "gross incompetence" (controlled folly cover) without penalizing the vendor.

You can expect a long process through TIO as the industry buddy-buddy relationship has the TIO billing the vendor for their time, and therefore in terms of cashflow there is a carrot on a stick for the TIO to allow compromised processes that drag out needlessly because it's all income to the TIO, making the ombudsman something of a joke after the number of times I heard excuses for the vendor from them. Self regulation is no regulation at all IMO

I purchased an iphone deal for $69 per month with the specific need for coverage in Tasmania for when I travel home and I go there for business...I looked at their coverage on the net and instore to make sure all areas were covered..It seemed good at the time. Well in August of this year I had to go home to Tassie as my dad died....I spent most of the time using my brothers phone as I could not get coverage and to top it all off I got a bill for 3 times my normal cost.....and cant explain why. I have $650 worth of free calls and texts...there is no way I could possibly have used that plus another $289 worth ..when I could not get coverage for most of the time ???????
I have also waited on the phone for 20-30 mins to speak to someone...the other day I waited 20 min spoke to someone she was dealing with my issues ...the call cut out and I had to wait another 20 min to speak to a second person.....these are just a couple of the issues too. NOT HAPPY JAN!!!!!!

4016 Someone from SA thinks vodafone is Access, reception and coverage. at 27 Dec 2010 05:11:46 PM
I am with Revolution Telecom (Revtel) on the Vodacrapp network; and live in Mannum, with the Vodacrapp tower in clear line of site.
Service is probably available 50% of the time, with constant poor reception.
My complaints have not been addressed.
I am not on any contract and am on pre-paid; with over $100 in credit.
I have been that pissed off (over the past several years) in not being able to rely on their service; I purchased an amaysim card on the Optus network; with excellent coverage, reception and access to the network 99% of the time.
The Vodacrapp network in this area has not been expanded in this area (despite empty promises) to cater for coverage and extra demands on the service (with more users).
I am in the process of porting my number with amaysim, on the Optus network, with the loss of my $100 plus credit.
Yes; a Class Action against Vodaphone for their broken promises and piss poor service should "be a winner" for the "little person" against a "giant".
Congratulations for your stance in stating that "WE ALL HAVE HAD ENOUGH".

4015 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is cannot use their wireless broadband at 27 Dec 2010 05:11:19 PM
2 years ago I signed for wireless broadband with 6Gg output for $40/mo 2 yrs contract. Since I used it for clients, I got embarrassed all the time because I cannot do any work in front of them with Vodafone mobile broadband because I cannot get any reception in any area on the Gold Coast even in Brisbane city itself. I tried to call them by phone but so many hrs on the line and nobody answer the phone. So I give up all. The Vodafone broadband drops off and always no connections. I cannot return the USB Vodafone anymwore because the outlet I signed up already not there anymore so I was charged every month for $40 till 2 yrs have lapse only paying them and when 2 yrs contract ended I asked Vodafone that to please do not charged me anymore my contract was over and I dont want them it is too much to pay when their service is not working and most of the time I was charged over the limit that I wasnt able to get connected even to the place where I lived.
SO that is my story I paid for my contract for nothing for 2 long years.

My Dongle actually stopped connecting to their network, and I only just recharged, and didn't use any of the data. Asked for a refund and they said I can get one, but calling up later another guy said I couldn't have one because I didnt have the slip, even though I got told I could have the details over the phone. Worst Experience. Many family members have had problems too. Why set up a service that screws around people.

I live in the suburb of Point Cook in Melbourne (25 mins from CBD on freeway. The Vodafone reception is shocking!! Voda's customer service call centre in Egypt is so difficult to deal with. When I politely called Vodafone's corporate headquarters in NSW I was treated like trash by the staff there! I was given a postal address to contact the 'customer correspondence team' and the response from this department was pathetic to say the least. Basically, they just send out standard letter and make the process of communicating with the company so difficult that most people just give up! I'm sure it's all designed to do exactly that!!!

Customer for 19 years.

Its been useless since mid 2080 when they went 3g in Wollongong.
Vodafail claim they could not stabilise the signal, countless complaints, phone call's, emails all ignored. Staff could not care less.
My call charges have gone through the roof because of the continued dropouts and poor reception.
Then they claim I agreed to a 2 yr contract when I requested 1yr and recieved phone purchase credit for 1yr.
Its immoral what going on and surely unlawful.
We are all keeping our side by paying our bills yet they do honour their side of the contract.
BRING ON THE CLASS ACTION!

3997 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Drop out/lack of coverage at 27 Dec 2010 05:07:53 PM
I have had so many issues with Vodafone; but the main two are - I signed up for one of the new beaut Netbooks for wireless internet on a laptop that is really portable. The laptop itself was great; the coverage and data speed were pathetic. Whenever I run Vodafone I had to talk to a person in Egypt who barely spoke english; and they would always tell me I am in a bad coverage area. Funny thing is I had taken it to so many places aside from my house 10kms from Brisbane CBD (been to Cairns, Sydney, Gold Coast and Brisbane just to name a few). I guess Vodafone got sick of me ring up and the day I lost it and started yelling they put me straight through to disconnections. I got out of the contract after six months, was refunded part of my money for the months of poor service and had no early termination fee. I did have prepaid internet as well; and that was just as bad, but at least you can just stop using it. The lastest drama in the Vodafone problems was I had 3-4 days with none or sparatic coverage; occasionally I could made calls or send a text but that was pretty rare. I sent countless emails to Vodafone through the website because I couldn't ring from my mobile. The only response I got from Vodafone was detailed information on the GPRS/3G network areas (not really handy); they also advised me to check the website for outages, which I did and there were none in my area. At no point did a human from Vodafone ring me; which is deplorabe. At the time that all this was going on, ALL of the Vodafone (4 in total) sotres in my local area were closed for refurbishment so I couldn't go into a store; I did try and ring from a landline as well; but after 10 mins of waiting they hung up on me. I run a business using my mobile and over those 3-4 days I lost money because customers couldn't get through. I just really want to get out of my contract with no early exit fees. I'm currently waiting for Vodafone to make contact after lodging a complaint with the Telco Ombusman, but I'm not holding my breath

I had enough of going some days with 12 hours plus of no coverage (even though they checked their computers and there was nothing wrong with my area) so I switched providers. I asked for a refund of my credit but was told as it was paid via BPay I needed to provide an original of my bank statement showing when it was paid. I told them to get lost, they aren't getting an original of my bank statement which shows my account details and all my transactions. Have been told what to do by the ombudsman but after previous attempts, honestly cant be bothered

No internet - Phone is generally ok, and I am in a 3G designated area, but get no coverage sometimes Edge then GPRS then 3G but painfully slow. Then every now and again 3G connects and I get great speed, then 5 minutes later its back to GPRS. Central Coast NSW Tuggerah Lakes area
27 Dec 2010 06:21:26 PM: I too live on the northern end of the Central Coast NSW and whilst the phone regularly drops out on calls, I find the modem much worse. The modem constantly drops out and then gives me a message 'No Device" or %u201CSearching for Device%u2019 when it is sitting in the same USB port. I have to physically move the modem to another port to get it to work again. It takes a least 5-10 mins to connect again! Very Frustrating!!! In fact I just heard it drop out now. Will copy this to Word and repost... The internet runs very slow most of the time too. With my phone, I too receive text%u2019s hours after they have been sent and I often don%u2019t get voicemails until the next day. My partner also has Vodaphone. We can be sitting in the same room. I have five bars and he has one or none. Both have IPhones. How can that be? I thought my problems were localised but given the amount of comments posted, obviously not. I hope the Media keeps on top of this and something gets done about unreliable service!

When I was with Telstra I had reception even in the most remote areas in some national parks however I am now with Vodaphone. I have no coverage from my house and even from the opera house !!! I could see the person I was ringing on the ferry as it went past me about 200 metrs away, yet my phone repeatedly reported "Call Fail". If you cannot use your phone wirth Vodaphone what is the use of having a phone in the first place.

3980 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is All Telcos The Same at 27 Dec 2010 05:03:46 PM
Yes i am having network problems with vodafone but i have also been a customer of the companies you list as an alternative and they to have the same problems. After looking at this website i have 2 questions.
1) Is the owner connected to any rival telco network?
2) is the owner of this website earning affiliate commissions on clicks to the alternative companies this site recommends?
Reason why i ask is because Telstra and Optus and Virgin and all the others have exactly the same connection issues as vodafone, only difference is Telstra and Optus charge much higher fees.
And i am not a vodafone employee... Dont be fooled everyone they are all the same, we are now using more smartphones than ever before and all networks are suffering.
27 Dec 2010 05:05:41 PM: I am really sorry they are NOT all the same. I have a friend on Vodafone and it is always HIS call that drop out in the middle. No-one else who calls me has this problem.

Yes they all have issues, none is perfect but Vodafone hit rock bottom once they introduced their unlimited plans. Their network was swamped and they have not yet recovered
27 Dec 2010 05:06:10 PM: this is complete BULLSHIT Vodafone is the worst of them , I have tried Telstra service and Optus and both are MILES better than Vodafone!!!
27 Dec 2010 05:11:03 PM: This is like the fifth time you have posted this. Big deal if he's making a buck off this. WE DON'T CARE.

VODAFONE HAS BEEN RIPPING OFF CUSTOMERS AND WE ARE PISSED.

CLASS ACTION HERE WE COME.
27 Dec 2010 05:13:52 PM: PS I have changed changed to Telstra and coverage and data is BRILLIANT. Like super awesome. I feel like I've entered the modern era. Your statement was misleading. I have not had one call drop or data issue since I joined Telstra.

Making statements like that is spurious activity. I would suggest that the moderator seek the IP address of the above post and send it to Telstra and Optus. Just for fun.
27 Dec 2010 05:20:08 PM: The only scientific, fair and factual way is to compare similar websites with as much energy put into them as this one and see if Vodafone really is the worst. So computer gurus what we need is a telstrafail and optusfail website and heavily promote it. Adam (bloke that started this site) was also let out of his contract graciously according to an article in the online-Age as soon as he asked so I wonder what his real problem with Vodafone is that he would continue this...

I really haven't had a such a bad time with them since I joined them in 1998. But however Why can't we get reception in all parts of Australia like the other Telco's no - instead where we go to carvan in a corner of NSW / VIC on the Murray of all places we have to have another Telco's prepaid to use and this diverting Vodafone phones to this prepaid is a rather large pain. Especially for emergencies.

In the middle of Geelong CBD and it downloads 2 pages on HSDPA, then tries to connect to 3G, then G, then EDGE, then tells me there is no broadband coverage. But if I try again in a few minutes I may be able to download a page again. This is all in the same spot with a clear view of the sky..

It's the most inconsistent ...service I've ever used. I'm guessing they have oversold the service and there is not enough capacity for everyone to use it @ the same time.

I have reccently changed to Optus due to never ending problems with Vodafone. I can be on the phone and suddenly have my call drop out and then try to make calls and they keep failing. My friend then tried to call me back and got a different person. This has happened to me on many occasions yet no one at Vodafone can ever offer any assistance. I was unable to make calls (including emergency calls)and could only receive some txts for over 24hrs. When I went in to the nearest voafone store they informed me there was an issue which was being resolved but they could not tell me what the issue was and when it would be resolved. Since I couldn't make or receive calls I had no way of getting updates. They also told me I may be able to get compensation however I had to call their customer service number. I tried this once my phone was working again however after being transferred from several departments and waiting on hold for and extended period of time I gave up. In the end I was tired of terrible reception, bad customer service, randomly not getting voice messages for days and very slow internet so I gave up on Vodafone.

I have tried to get out of my plan TWICE, but they said i have to pay out my contract (wich i only started in may & i have been having reception issues most of the time ive had the phone).
What made me draw the last staw was early december 2010. I have been uneployed for months now. I finally caught a break through this recuitment agency for some contract work. but seeing as i had NO RECEPTION i missed the call, so the agency left a voice mail message. which i didnt recieve until 4 days later!!
I lost the job contact. I cant pay my bills now.. It makes me think, if i take it further will vodafone back pay me for all the money i lost??!!!

My folks are now visiting us in Metung, Victoria and have ZERO reception. Our home line operates on a mobile network as do both our internet connections - no problems with either of these service providers.
Being of an older generation, my folks thought it was them. Little do they realise it is the result of the VODAFAIL service!!

Our small company used to have Telstra as our provider so I can fairly compare the reception and problems we have encountered since the switch to Vodaphone. We both had to go in and have their staff reset our iphones, we even had one replaced, hoping that would 'cure' our reception problem. It didnt. Finally, one of the staff, told us 'offline' that it wasnt the phones, it was the service. They had oversold it and were saturated.

We have had issues with our customers calling us and not getting through, having their voicemails take hours or even a day to register on the phone.

Absolutely everything I have read I can concur with. Is a shame. I have recently immigrated here from the States and this coverage would shame any legitimate cell phone company.

Once the contract is finished we will be switching providers. Hopefully a little bit more competition will be in the market by then and we wont have to deal with this nonsense.

I have been with their prepaid service and didn't have many problems with them before. However later on, every time I go a few km out of the city, my phone becomes useless - due to NO reception. Good luck to those who get in trouble, have an accident, need assistance, get sick - what a crap service! I'd rather leave my phone at home - what's the point of carrying something you cannot use anyway?!?!? Their prices seem reasonable when compared to other providers, but seriously - I'm paying to be connected to the world!!! I'm sick of calling Lara, and even Lara calling me!!!! and not getting anything resolved. I have bought myself an optus sim today, and just happened to read the SMH article on Vodafone. I think Vodafone either needs to get its act together or disappear alltogether.

Quite a few months back I called vodafone to to them about my lack of reception and ability to use my data allowance. I was told to simply reset the Internet on my phone and it would fit it. Now it all makes sense. At first I honestly thought it was only my phone. In places where I was once able to use my Internet and send messages, I now cannot. I have to walk outside into my street in order to make phone calls and use my Internet. In times when I need to use important sites such as my Internet banking, again, I now cannot. The problem has only recently gotten worse as not even will my data work. This has angered me deeply as I pay top dollar for my plan and what infuriates me the most is the fact that my bills have heavily increased due to having to communicate via phone all the time rather than via the Internet. My phone bills are double what they should be and I am ready to cut off my plan. Getting through to speaking to an actual person at vodafone is a long and frustrating process, that is of course, when my phone does not drop out. Compensation should be given for such appalling service by this comapany. If my phone actually allows me to post this message, I will be utterly shocked.

My wife and i had 3 mobile phones with 3. Since they merged with vodafone we experienced coverage problems. We had reduced coverage for about 6 months. The previous 7 years to this happening we always had 5 bars of reception. We suddenly lost all reception completely for about 4 days on all 3 of our mobiles. We were 9 months into a 2 year contract with 3/vodafone. many phone calls later and they were still blaming the handsets and not the network. We even got three new sim cards which did nothing to fix the issue. Finally i had enough and 1 more phone call explaining i had three mobiles im front of me with new sim cards they finally excepted that it was the network and not my handsets. I got all 3 contracts terminated with no exit fee. All i had to do was return the handsets in an envelope they supplied me. Does not make up for 6 months of bad coverage but at least i do not have to deal with them anymore. I have since moved to telstra. FULL RECEPTION!!! Keep arguing with vodafone and you can get your contract cancelled with no cancellation fee!

I have several of the issues mentioned re drop outs and late sms but I have also, up until recently had my phone turning on then off. I was told to send it to the manufacturer for repair however, strangly, this only happened at my house and to my wifes phone also. Anyone would know two phones side by side doing this similtanously was not going to be an individual phone failure issue. After all, they both worked fine every where else. Also when I purchased these phones I was told by 3 (Vodaphone)that outside the capital cities they roamed onto and shared the Telstra network. However whilst travelling in Aust. recently I was unable to get coverage in some towns and when I rang to enquire they told me they had no coverage in this towns. Begs the question, whose network do they use in the country and it is Telsrta, is it selective?

I consatantly have poor coverage, my phone will show all bars sometimes until i push the call button and then it drops from full service to zero service. I frequently have to restart my phone to get service. I will often not get my message bank messages until the following day. And when i try to call Vodafone about this it takes me friggin ages to get to help thanks to the automated computer (help) system. "FED UP"

3928 Someone from TAS thinks vodafone is call drop outs & delayed text msgs at 27 Dec 2010 04:54:58 PM
Calls that are on the VF to VF minutes(free) disconnect. Text messages are delayed in delivery, I recently received a text message sent from Sydney @ 8pm which arrived @ 12.15am which caused alarm for me at that time of night. As a prepaid customer, getting any assistance with "Customer Service" is non existant cannot get anyone on the phone nor any response with emails. I think the reception & service is far worse now since tha amalgamation with 3Network.

3924 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Never fail to disappoint at 27 Dec 2010 04:54:08 PM
As per every Vodafone customer I have experienced the usual call drop outs, reception that resembles calling from a basement and the most unhelpful, painstaking customer service procedures known to man. Of recent I was put through 3 hours of customer service hell. If not for my love for Lara's automated voice I would of given up after 10mins. I had 3 problems,
1. Removing Credit Card Details from a old number and adding same details to existing number.
2. Obtaining pin to access mailbox of previous number.
3. Accessing MyVodafone due to some unbeknown reason the website instructed to contact Vodafone.
After several attempts of trying to speak to an actual operator with no success something happened and I spoke with a human. However this representative was in billing and as Prepaid customer we aren't as important and get the good old transfer trick followed by 30mins of ridiculous music. Retry and on this occasion the individual in billing actually assisted and removed the credit details from old number and solved the voicemail pin issue and solved my girlfriends MyVodafone issue. After ending call I attempted to add my credit details to existing number however I was not able to do this via the handset, the error message advised me to contact my bank as the card details were not correct. Frustrated at this I attempted to contact customer service, several attempts later I spoke with someone after been transferred from billing for been PrePaid. This gentleman advised that he couldn't help as this department was currently closed and was unable to add the card details manually. I was very angry as I had just previously removed the details with another rep. I requested to speak to the previous rep that had assisted me previously and was told that he was not available due to it been outside of his work hours. I then asked to speak with a supervisor and was put on hold, once taken off hold I was told I was getting transferred to someone who could assist but wasn't a supervisor, I wasn't given opportunity to respond. The next rep I was put through to welcomed me and then silence, no response, no call drop out just silence. I believe I was muted, this continued for 30mins before I ended the call. My next attempt after several in between the operator told me I was unable to add my card details which I just removed from previous number because I had no available funds, apparently you require $1 which is refunded to you at a later date to register card details. They don't advise this in the call however somewhere in some terms and conditions this is stated. I was furious as you could imagine. Vodafone constant lack of help and the rudeness of operators has got to stop. Anyone who has experienced the automated voice of Lara has an idea of what we all have to endure. Its like they will do anything to not actually allow you to speak to a human. Class action is more than necessary.

3923 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Not at all at 27 Dec 2010 04:53:54 PM
There is no issue with Vodafone at all, I have been a customer for 2 years and the service and coverage have been nothing more then exceptional. The people out there who have time to waste complaining about trivial issues such as this, should really over christmas find some joy and start enjoying this time of year. INSTEAD of sitting online and complaining. HAPPY HOLIDAYS.
27 Dec 2010 05:04:18 PM: You are sadly, sadly, sadly mistaken. I have stood next to a person and they had 4 bars on their iphone for coverage while my Vodaphone iphone had NO SERVICE.

Is not trivial when this is the phone you use for business and your customers think you are ignoring their call and voicemail.
27 Dec 2010 05:06:11 PM: Ummmm ok. One happy customer. There's hope Vodafone.
PS Vodafone CEO Nigel Dew has admitted that there are issues. As an employee of Vodafone or a reseller or whatever you are, why don't you bat it out with him.

Now if you are really a satisfied CUSTOMER (which I doubt), why don't you let us all know what suburb you live in so that we can test coverage there.
27 Dec 2010 05:32:58 PM: Are you a Vodacrap employee? If you think not being able to make a phonecall is trivial then you really need to pull your head out of your arse & have a good look around.
28 Dec 2010 08:24:16 AM: Okay own up, who let the Mormans in?

No coverage at Carricklinga after being assured it would be fine, unlocked phone so I could buy another sim to use at Carrickalinga at my cost and I am still havng to pay the full contract. No chance of cancelling the contract so paying full price for 2 years for nothing...
27 Dec 2010 04:56:06 PM: Carrickalinga has never been fine. Should be able to get out of contract due to lack of coverage. Contact Vodafone, wouldn't expect a problem with termination fron Crricakalinga.

3920 Someone from WA thinks vodafone is 50-50 at 27 Dec 2010 04:53:33 PM
I'm both with 3 and Vodafone, both has it's perks and downside. Coverage wise I think 3 catered for me the most especially in my area. I live 10 minutes away from the city and I barely get any 3G coverage with Vodafone, it's either I'm on EDGE or worse GSM (seriously GSM?), it's quite inconvenient because I have a blackberry and most of the time the BIS is inactive because of the coverage and I happen to use my phone for work purposes. Sometimes my phone calls drops out and calling takes a while or sometimes it doesn't even connect. It gets irritating after a while.

I made the move to Vodafone because I though it would be better since they were a bigger company than 3 and their coverage is supposedly wider. I haven't had any other problems, when I want to make a few changes, just do it online on MY VODAFONE, saves you time and hassle talking to the call centre representatives.

I expected the coverage to be better though, for it's standards.
