Dear visitor,

Since its inception Vodafail.com has made a significant contribution towards raising awareness of the problems and issues faced by Vodafone customers.

Vodafone Australia customers have had the opportunity to voice their concerns, their fears and their troubles from every corner of Australia and beyond our borders. You have gathered the courage to stand up for your rights as consumers and to make your voice heard.

Each and every person who shared their story should have a sense of pride in this achievement and the changes that have occurred since the start of Vodafail.com.

More recently, traffic to Vodafail.com has declined significantly. Having achieved the goal of raising awareness and promoting concrete action in early 2011, we have now reached the point of closing Vodafail to new complaints. The site will remain online for as long as possible as a reminder and an example of what is possible when we share our experiences.

It has been a privilege to run this initiative and I'm am forever grateful for the help and support I've received. In particular I would like to thank Melissa, David and Travis for their continued efforts over the past 15 months. I'm also thankful and humbled by the support of ACCAN, Choice magazine and a wide range of media outlets, blogs and websites.

You can still browse existing stories and find out how to file a complaint if you are experiencing problems.

Until next time,

Adam Brimo

12425 Someone from ACT thinks vodafone is Very Fail at 13 Jan 2011 09:47:59 AM

Only enough reception to make a phone call in certain area's.
Have to reconnect/disconnect connection on phone just to receive a signal.
Rarely get full 3G reception. Always low to half strength 3G reception.

14 Jan 2011 07:48:09 AM: See the www.whirlpool.net.au site forums on Vodafone.
14 Jan 2011 03:43:57 PM: Regarding billing. Call me cynical but I am beginning to suspect their 'half price for 6mths or whatever' offer is just to get you in. At the end of the 6 month period they then lie to you about usage, or make it impossible to find out WHAT your usage was, in my case for 12 DAYS. And gradually claw back any discounts they gave you and more besides. In my case they actually took nearly 2G off my usage one day before it was up for the month and then put it back.WTF

12419 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is overcharged on phone bills at 13 Jan 2011 09:32:27 AM
Was overcharged on my bill over a period of 4 months to a total of $900. Tried ringing them on numerous occasions to try and retrieve the credit that was sitting in my account. finally get through and 2.5hrs on hold and the bloke tries to convince me to leave it in my account so I won't have to worry about paying future bills. After it was clear that I wanted my money back I was told that I would receive a check within 10 working days. Waited just over 4 weeks before I reachieved it in the mail + another couple of days for the check to clear. All this and not to mention the crap service and constant lose of reception.

I seem to not have reception anywhere I go; even in the heart of SYDNEY CBD which one thing I can not understand.

Vodafone get your act together or get out of this market; we are in 2011 and we depend on our mobile devices heavily for work and being connected with the rest of the world.

Can someone tell me if this also affects the Three network. I have been with them for years due to the cheap plans. I now live in the Sydney CBD and have absolutely crap coverage, the same for my Three Wireless. Can Three customers also get out of the contracts, I am dying to go to Telstra. I can't stand this coverage anymore.

I constantly lose reception, messages are always delayed, or do not send/receive at all. I have been incorrectly billed for at least the past 6 months. It is too hard to try and correct any problems as it takes up to and exceeding an hour to get thru to call centre staff. It is simply not good enough and I want out of my contract. I have been a customer since 2001.

Receiving text messages days later, no service, phone dropping out. I have rung customer service three times trying to get my contract cancelled. Each time I have been on the phone for over 1 1/2 hours and most of the time on hold. The customer service people are rude and don't listen. They are saying its my handset and has nothing to do with the coverage. They never return calls when they say they will. This has happened on two occasions.

12401 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Cannpt desccribe at 13 Jan 2011 05:11:57 AM
Hi all,

I managed after around 3 months to upgrade to an iphone 4. I received it yesterday with the new U-SIM to be used in these new device.

At 18h45, I started the phone number transfer. As per the instructions provided by Vodafone with the phone I activated the new Sim card, at least I thought I had. I followed the instructions that were prompted to me over the phone (1555). Everything went well, after 5 minutes I was told that it would take around one hour to get the new phone in operation with my current number.

Around 21h00 yestrday, my 'old phone' was still receiving a vodafone signal while the new was still displaying 'No Service'.

This morning, I check again, I have no coverage on both phones. I don't even know how to contact them without any operational phone!

Today, I have to drive 4 hours return to country victoria for work from melbourne and I will not have any phones. Well, thinking about it, I guess even with a signal in Melbourne CBD, I may quite rapidly loose it... Thanks Vodafail!

12400 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is :/ at 13 Jan 2011 04:57:14 AM
I signed up with vodafone over 2 years ago. I was told my contract included $1000 worth of calls a month only to be hit by bills of 200+ saying that I exceeded the $900 included in my plan. I was never told about the tax I would have to pay on every bill. When I called up about my issue I was told that it was my fault for not double checking before i signed up and staff would never say $1000 worth of included calls even though that's what I was told. After many calls, call centers hanging up I thought what's the point. Then vodafone released the "check your remaining balance by text" this originally never mentioned tax again so I thought I could use the remaining value without exceeding my cap. I was mislead again. Again calling to complain lead to long holds that were over 2 hours in some cases, being transferred and hung up on. When I heard of a new $100 unlimited plan I thought they would let me swap over due to how I was mislead.. Only to be told I would have to pay over $1600 outright for breaking contract. Funny how they can lie but I'm stuck with them for two years. So I put up with the lack of customer service and faulty phone I had to replace myself (I could only afford a $27 phone from kmart) only to find that I had over a year until my contract expired.... Around Two months before my contract expired I was told by the people in my closest vodafone store I could upgrade. Not having what I thought was a reliable phone I had no other choice but to try and upgrade. I was told I had to call up to upgrade, so I did being placed on hold only to be promised contracts that either didn't exist or being hung up on and nobody could honor the promises made. I was on hold one of the weeks for easily over 5 hours. I gave up thinking that what's the point of upgrading if they treat me like shit. Again I had no other option as I thought my phone was the issue to my reception problems. I was told by another phone brand to call the ombudsmen about what was going on and I would find a result quickly. Funnily enough vodafone assigned a person to my case and they contacted me. The promises made to me about my new contract were kept and i verbally argreed to what I was told, however I asked for a fine print of my contract, and my insurance which still hasn't come. On top of that about a week after getting my new phone I had poor and no reception for 3 days making getting home a struggle as I couldn't transfer money on my phone. When I told my "specially appointed vodafone service operator" I was never given any reason for the reception issues and still today I struggle with many areas near my house and work with reception. Signing up again in the hopes of getting a good phone so I could have better reception was a waste, i had a $27 phone and now an iPhone and the reception issues are still the same.

12397 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is OK at 12 Jan 2011 11:19:55 PM
I love how everyone flips out and goes mental about the flood crisis affecting the Vodafone network. Energex switched off power to nearly 20,000 homes because of the floods. Retail stores shut down because of the floods. Vodafone networks were affected because of the floods. It's amazing you still point your finger at Vodafone when the situation was an act of God.
13 Jan 2011 06:32:45 AM: Act of God maybe, but the network is a critical service. Therefore all those battery backups and generators at each site should have kicked in. Obviously didn't, and has highlighted another flaw in the network.
13 Jan 2011 06:43:12 AM: Im surprised that vodafone doesnt blame the sun, moon and sea on the reception issues. With all due respect to the people affected by the floods... vodafone has earned a reputation of lying so its MORE than expected for them to use this disaster as an excuse. Its cowardly and expected from their theiving kind. No floods in sydney and their network a complete joke... funny that! Voted worst compant in UK for 2010 says it all... congrats vodaMOAN you earned it.

Keep away from contracts and keep the carriers honest.
13 Jan 2011 07:20:21 AM: Vodafone is blaming their reception problems on the same NON-EXISTENT thing being blamed for the floods - some wanker named GOD. Maybe if Vodashit did blame God, we were all finally know they have admitted to lying as the two are just as pathetic as each other.
13 Jan 2011 07:20:32 AM: Errr Vodafail is one of only 3 networks in this 3rd world technology country and in delivering a 'service' which they get paid for regardless of quality, back up and redundancy of service ESPECIALLY in times of distaster are core to market responsibility. Time for Vodafail to have their licence withdrawn...
13 Jan 2011 10:20:28 AM: I work in the mobile network industry and Optus and Telstra moved heaven and earth to ensure continuation of service in flood effected areas including rapid deployment of temporary cells of wheels sites, generators in advance to keep key base stations operational and choppering technicians to fix individual cell sites.. All base stations are designed to have 4-6 hours backup power but such systems are subject to failure if not regularly serviced. The whole Voda Qld network went down for lengthy period yesterday for their excahnge was flooded in Brisbane but to have this happen with no contingecy or built in redundancy is an absolute disgrace. Telstra and Optus' network had no such issues. Vodafone have been struggling for years to compete with the other carriers and have poored all their money into marketing and product development and have totally neglected their network and onging operations. They are waking up to this fact now but there is no quick fix solutions unfortunately.

During the flood emergency in Brisbane, There was completely no service for hours. And when reception did come back, phone calls was limited to seconds before dropped out. I believe Voda are responsible for lives lost and property lost due to unable to call anyone for help ....... also why are they even charing us for service that is non existant ?

Purchased 4 phones Nov/Dec ...have not had reception, contacted Vodafone, suggested it maybe Handset issues, changed handsets for new ones, no difference. Can't get reception even though there map shows good coverage, which obviously means nothing at all. Constant.goes off and switches to emergency calls only....and I get constant .....message unable to send. Cannot make voice calls inside my house, or even outside really, connection drops out constantly, my husband sends me a message to pick him up from work as we car share....hours later like six or seven hours later I get the messsged. Drop outs occur all the time. This is total breach of Vodafail contract and I want out of my contract which is less than did weeks old . Absolute rubbish service.

12381 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Poor at 12 Jan 2011 09:14:04 PM
Poor coverage anywhere but in major towns/cities. Recent trip along Great Ocean Road absolutely no coverage between Apollo Bay and Warnambool. Even in Warnambool you needed to be right in the centre of town, no coverage on outskirts of Warnambool(10 mins from the centre if that). Calls dropped out at Logan's Beach watching the whales(not exactly out of town!). Poor coverage inner city Melbourne - calls drop out or don't connect at all if on the lower level of larger buildings eg basement floor of Myer, Target, Big W etc. Driving to Queensland a few years ago through NSW via the Newell HWY absolutely no coverage unless in a town - bad luck if the car breaks down or there is an emergency. It was quite ironic driving past the saellite dish in Parkes, they can communicate to space out there but you couldn't get any Vodafone coverage! We've only remained with Vodafone as their prepaid is cheap compared to other providers and our mobiles are not used for making social calls. I suppose you get what you pay for!!!

12378 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Epic Fail at 12 Jan 2011 08:51:32 PM
Ive had my N97 since Oct 2010 With Vodafail. Besides the fact that i beleive there is something wrong with the phone - and Nokia thinks it is user fault that the battery doesnt last, that the phone wont charge, that it drops out of charging randomly etc - My experience with Vodafone has been disasterous.

I struggle to get decent reception - and i live 15 kms from Sydney CBD. Many times my friends on Optus and Telstra have reception when i dont, my reception drops out randomly and i struggle to get it back - and im not even moving from my location and this happens, even the reception i have drops out in calls, I get delayed text msgs, or msgs i send are not recieved by the recipient untill the next day or longer, I supposedly have 3G reception but it fails to deliver.

The vodafone customer service is so atrocious that i refuse to even call the customer service line - because i know im going to sit on there for 30 mins or more, and then be told there is nothing they can do, and to take the phone into the store. The store people palm you off to customer service!! Its rediculous really. They keep passing the buck for blame. I have been unable to use my N97 and have had to buy a cheap make do phone so i could still use a phone. It runs out of battery within only a few hours, refuses to make calls, struggles to charge (and is only a bit better about charging if i take the sim out of the phone), reception drops out, the phone doesnt cope with the amount of memory it has, is slow.

Also Vodafone years ago used ot ask you if you wanted to change your contract to the new version of hte one you are paying that has better stuff with it - ie more money in the cap etc - but i havent heard a thing, i didnt even know i could transfer accross to the equiv contract. And again, you have to call the shitty customer service cos teh people in shops only want to sell the phone to you, they dont want to talk to you about any issues you are having.

I've been with vodafone for over 10 years and when I lived in Sydney-the line would drop out continually and get a message on my phone saying that the network is busy.

Now I live in Queensland and the network is non-existent up here. One moment I have 2 bars and then make a phone call- the next moment, no network coverage. It would be easier to send pigeons with messages.

I'm changing phone companies when damage control due to the floods has passed.

Looking forward to my plan finishing, so I can go with another provider! Thinking Optus or Telstra.
I've complained in person many times about the lack of reception my phone gets, or the full bars of reception my phone displays however msgs not sending. It's become a painful task of turning my phone on and off to send one msg. I also find connecting to the net on my phone painfully slow on many occasions. Some days, the phone works. Other days, I'm outta luck. The service is too unreliable. I'm completely frustrated with the lack of network coverage!
When I compare my reception to my partner, who is on Optus I always find I'm the one with either no or the lowest amount of reception available. Poor work on Vodafone behalf!
The staff members in the shop are extremely unhelpful and rude when I bring up these issues. One staff member has even said to me his phone isn't with Vodafone, so he doesn't know of the technical problems I have. Proves to me, Vodaphone is one massive FAIL!

3 phones and 1 wifi internet device all failed at the same time - rang Vodafone customer support from a different carrier phone, waited 45 minutes and was put through the ringer rebooting phones, removing sim cards, because they were convinced this was a problem with my three phones and internet device- possibly they required settings to be reset - couldn't be a problem with the network, although my devices all displayed "no network" at the same time. They were to phone me back - instead they sent me an SMS on my other phone telling me to call them back so they could "raise an investigation" as to why my devices all stopped working together. I rang back, after another 50 minutes listening to music and messages telling me how busy they were, network came back. Not the best time for network fail when people are trying to stay in contact due to flooding in QLD.

Yeah, I've whinged here already about poor reception in my unit. Well my boyfriend's been trying to call me afternoon and couldn't get through. I have bother of our phones in my hands - his calls aren't getting through to me and my calls aren't getting through to him.

We're both with Vodafone and both phones show up with full reception bars.

Signed up in august last year online with an iPhone 4 deal. Got the phone in two weeks so I thought things were looking promising. Called to port my number over was told it should take upto 24 hours. No word of a lie it took 3 weeks and around 10 angry calls with a minimum hold time of an hour to get it done. Finally had it ported but it wasnt done properly and my voicemail hadnt been transferred. So two weeks later and another 5 calls it finally worked properly.
Thy failed to alert me that I was close to exceeding my data cap. So $350 later I learnt to track it myself.
I live 30 kms out of melbourne and only had one bar of reception. With constant call drop out rates and 3G not working.
Jan this year I looked at my bill and realized that I'm not paying for my insurance i asked for. Had to call and get it enabled. Wonder what would have happened if I went to make a claim

I constantly have to reset my network settings just to get 3G working

So I found this website and Tried what the said about getting out of my contract. After about 2 weeks of a few angry email I got the to agree to cancel my contract free of charge and hand in
My phone. Went to jbhifi today and got a telstra next g iPhone 4 on a $50 cap and even got an extra 3 gig for $30 a month. Telstra had my number ported and working before I even left the store. 3G runs Sooooooo much faster and reception is soo much better.

Thanks vodafail for the knowledge of how to get out of my contract free of charge. I am very happy my telstra

Where to start, well you can get any service in the main street of Home Hill and most of the town has pour to no signal, yet you can drive 1km out of Home Hill and have full signal. When I signed up to a plan in about sept 2009 I was told they would have 3G network in my area soon and yet now in early 2011 there is NO 3G network (Vodafail). For a while they have had no drop outs, but out of the blue, good old Vodafone (Vodafail) has droped out on me again!! So that's why i'm writing this!!

Normally patchy coverage now no coverage at all. Expensive and inept service from This company and others is what we get from a weak and incompetent government that could so easily impose some form of basic performance standards on these telco's thereby forcing them to divert some their fat profits into necessary network expansion, instead of simply stuffing a daily stream new and unwitting customers into a woefully congested and inadequate network structure.

Now i struggle to make calls, send texts or connect online. I have to walk out of my home onto the street only to get 1 bar and wait for 20 mins at a time for texts and voicemail's to come through, which by the time i get them are to late.

Now i have to go onto the street hourly to check my texts, emails and voice mail but ifi was ever in trouble, their is no way i could ever make a call. Not even to 000.

Dropping calls and general poor reception and service. I can't believe that their frontline staff in their stores are not able to discuss complaints and that we "would be better calling Customer Service". They can sign us up pretty quick, but when it comes to something a little prickly, they handball to the inefficient call centre that is "Customer (dis)Service".

Also a little concerned over the privacy things. Not sure how to go about ensuring my details are safe. I know they have issued a 'guarantee' of our security and privacy, but I take this with a grain of salt. Piss poor performance!!
12 Jan 2011 08:37:25 PM: Are you concerned with your details on Telstra? Same system.

Second time I've posted here...

Called 1555 3 times today (the call centre in fuckin' India!) and told them I want out of my contract. Told them that Vodafone breached the contract by not providing me with the services I pay for and the services they offered me in my LEGALLY BINDING contract. They preceeded to tell me that cancellation would cost me *cough cough* $486!!! I told them they can stick that and that they already owe ME money for failed services. They passed me up the line to their technical support section who tried to convince me there was something wrong with my phone... which I already know is perfectly fine as other network sim cards work without a problem. They put me on hold and then hung up!

So I called again... and sat on hold for 40 minutes... again... and explained the situation... again... and they passed it up the line... again... and I was told they would call me back... and then hung up on... AGAIN.

To think I once worked for this company...
12 Jan 2011 01:35:20 PM: Get onto the telecommunications ombudsman about that or go to a vodaphone shop and talk to them about it... leave the indian call centres a wide berth...
12 Jan 2011 02:27:34 PM: We realise how distressing dealing with Vodafone actually is and also the lack of Customer Care (as your example eloquently shows!).

It would be really great if the comments and replies do not refer to the overseas call centre in a mildly derogatory way.

By doing so it opens the door for an accusation of a racism bunfight which is not really productive at all.

Thanks and have a great day, oh and check out the How To Complain tab and take your matter to the TIO, I think you have a very valid case. Vodafail.com mod

12254 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is EXTREME at 12 Jan 2011 12:46:05 PM
SHAME ON YOU VODAFONE!!! I am in Toowoomba and we are currently in crisis mode. My family has been worried sick as myself, partner and brother are all currently vodafone customers and have not been able to get in contact with ANYBODY via phone OR text all week in the middle of the flash flooding!! NOT GOOD ENOUGH!! Every other phone network seems to be fine. Too bad if we were stuck on a roof in the middle of all this flooding and were trying to call out for help and couldn't because of a friggen useless phone company!! Not only that, my partner and I want to swap over networks asap, but can't unless we completely change our phones/numbers as we have locked vodafone phones..we can't even unlock them until vodafone is back online (whenever THAT will be..website is even down and lady at All Phones told us not to even bother trying their customer service line...), and even then, vodafone with slap with an unlocking fee!! I can tell you right now, they are going to lose a LOT of customers in south-east qld this week.
13 Jan 2011 07:29:03 PM: Vodafone was affected by the flooding mate. If you're sitting on a roof trying to get help and the wonderful telstra and optus networks were walking you COULD call for help. It's a convention that all phones access any network to make emergency calls for just this reason.

12250 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is Dam Bad at 12 Jan 2011 12:28:00 PM
I am in a flooded town Dalby Qld. Vodafone has a complete outage in this and other areas. The only provider do have this problem. My problem is that I cannot not use either of my usb modems to log on, I have no vodafone mobile coverage so 1555 is out of the question. When i got a landline to contact them after trying to talk to that recorded bitch, I was told by another recording that they had a problem and they simply cut me off. What a great company not to be with, as soon as my contracts are up I will be going to another provider.
12 Jan 2011 12:33:23 PM: good, do it
12 Jan 2011 12:35:00 PM: Forget about your contract in this case....you can get out of it because they are breaching their end of the contract. Ring the TIO and get out NOW!
12 Jan 2011 04:45:57 PM: Don't listen to the mug at 2:35
12 Jan 2011 07:36:47 PM: @ Jan 2011 06:45:57 PM I think I found you in an earlier post, please cease the childish name calling to posters that are trying to help and advise.

If you have nothing constructive to add to the debate then please move along or go elsewhere. Vodafail.com mod

12245 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Unprofessional at 12 Jan 2011 12:14:55 PM
Unprofessional that is it. I am a teacher and if I stopped teaching half way through or forgot to pass a message for a few days or forced my students to leave a message for me because I just didn't feel like working that day I'd be sacked. It is not much to ask. Have reception for your mobile phone, immediately pass on messages and give me what I pay for. Why should I have a phone that only works half the time? Maybe I should consider only rocking up to work half of the time... Hmmm.

Customer Assistance Has been absolutely disgusting to say the least.

12236 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Code Black at 12 Jan 2011 11:41:20 AM
I moved to vodafone and signed up on the proviser that they would provide me with a service in exchange for my money. This contract was not met on their behalf as at least 3 times per day I will have 'no service' pop up on my phone or 'network disconnected' come up.
I feel that I have not been able to use my phone to nearly what I would have as the reception means that, on more than 10 occassions, I have not been able to use my phone as it was designed. AS a mobile phone.
I feel that it is only fair that I be reimmbursed for my last 4 months contract as I have used a land line to call mobiles when I would have used my mobile cap.
I am outraged that they can call themselves a 'mobile' company as I have had nothing more than problems.
Vodafail- absolutely!

12234 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is No Reception at 12 Jan 2011 11:38:20 AM
I was in the middle of the Brisbane cbd yesterday, when I discovered that typically there is no reception on the vodafone network (funny how other providers seem to be unaffected!!!!!)I was trying to get ahold of my sister as the public transport was being shut down, and I couldn't get through, and when there was reception I constantly had the call drop out over and over again.

What on earth is the point of having a network that doesn't work when you seriously need it?!

I'm originally from NZ and was a vodafone customer there with no problems, now that I've moved here I've had problems with the network!
12 Jan 2011 04:48:50 PM: Flood a lot while you were on Voda NZ did it?
12 Jan 2011 08:42:18 PM: Really wish I could "like" 6:48:50

12230 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is Mega fail at 12 Jan 2011 11:26:00 AM
Same story as everyone else. Customer service used to be good but that is a thing of the past. Had reception issues for years now and supposedly in an area of full coverage. Sent an email to complaints and they replied with a generic paragraph on network services and wrote off the complaint as solved. ***Beware global roaming*** as i recently went overseas and afterdiscussing the call charges etc many times I discovered that they don't explin the fine print, to the point where they gave me false information when i questioned teh call rates. Thankfully they reversed the charges after i made a complaint, but i hd to do all the follow which was a timely experience.

12223 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is numerous call fails & lack of service in the heart of the city at 12 Jan 2011 10:32:53 AM
I have been a loyal customer with vodafone for over 14 years and this last year has been ridiculous the amounts of times the phone reception has dropped out for no apparent reason when the phone shows full coverage. A simple phone call taking four or more times to get through. This is not a function system. I want better service and an explaination,

12215 Someone from NSW thinks vodafone is Worst than George Bush's grammar at 12 Jan 2011 09:43:14 AM
I'm so pissed off. I called up vodafone, firstly to complain about being told that my prepaid text and data plan would last for two months, when it actually only lasted for one month. The call person said that my matter would be resolved when she called me back in bout an hour. I never got called back. Or i might have been in an uncovered area of sydney city.... then i went to the vodafone store and talked to them and they said someone would call me to give me extra credit. That never happened either!!!!! I so hope we can sue them for ALL THE CRAP WE HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH FOR THE PAST YEARS. BTW i never get reception at home, however I don't want to pay to change companies, so i'm ready for action!! all troops to battle stations lol anywayz, hope our problem gets solved :) have a good one guys!

12210 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is what a con!!!!!! at 12 Jan 2011 09:13:39 AM
I keep having trouble with drop outs, trouble with contacting landlines..
Issues with reception are a part of poor quality reception leading to repeating myself constantly with sentences when having conversations.
Poor customer service, wait times, poor resolving issues, drop out issues relating to customer care, no follow up calls made after an event of a drop out from members of staff on over three occassions!!!
Issues with 123 directories, a memeber of staff was unable to provide in formation within a reasonable time frame, contacted the customer service after up a chunk of credit was chewed up after the event. Had to get a supervisor, who then only paid me half back my credit, how stingy!!!

12209 Someone from QLD thinks vodafone is No Signal at 12 Jan 2011 09:02:50 AM
I've been without signal for 3 days, telstras phones are fine but vodaphone, 3 and Crazy Johns phones are out. ( they are all on same network ). I can't contact my family to see if they are okay, my work can't contact me, I understand we are in the middle of a natural disaster but what is the point of having a mobile phone for emergencies if it doesn't work when you need it!!!
12 Jan 2011 09:12:45 AM: Vodafone's QLD service was fixed yesterday. It's Telstra that's cutting out today.
12 Jan 2011 09:17:42 AM: @ 12 Jan 2011 11:12:45 AM Really?????? Not according to their web page for Network Status found here:

http://vodafone.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3730
12 Jan 2011 09:44:23 AM: Still not fixed. I am sitting here in Toowoomba and have not been able to get any SMS, phone calls since late Monday afternoon. My phone is showing no bars available. What happens if we are in an emergency and seek immediate attention? How will they compensate for this!

12207 Someone from VIC thinks vodafone is absolutley pathetic at 12 Jan 2011 08:49:07 AM
Living in in suburbs in Melbourne I usually have only 2 bars reception on my phone - have to stand outside in the rain so my phone call doesn't cut out and usually only get "emergency" reception when in my house. This is just pathetic, why on earth did i leave telstra? I cannot send photos, but get chraged for it when i try and the customer service does my head in - do not yell at me "Bob" from India, you are supposed to help me :( After just going to Merimbula for a week - i had perfect reception and very fast wireless internet - perfect - why on EARTH would in the inner suburbs of Melbourne not have this and a cournty town does?!!? - here's hoping that the company gets the pants sued off them, they go under and we can all get out of our contracts asap. Signing off - Peeved of Melbourne
